Add an option to have swing path determine the degree of fade or draw, and the tempo be the determinant of pull or push. It would divide the user base into two distinct camps, but I'd love to have this option available to me career mode and local play at least. The current swing mechanic feels counter intuitive to me in terms of how the stick movement models these two components in the swing mechanic.

Here are some things I would love to see added to the next PGA Tour 2K golf video game & Franchise in the years to come: Updated Graphics Engine The Unity engine is still good and improved from 2K21 but I think it definitely needs to have current gen (Xbox Series X/PS5) type graphics! I have noticed that some other game Franchises out there like Fortnite & Maximum Football have made the jump from Unity Engine to the Unreal 5 Engine and would love to see the PGA Tour 2K Franchise do the same in the near future! Having the Unreal 5 Engine in a current gen (Xbox Series X/PS5) Golf game will be absolutely stunning!
Presentation & Dynamic Environment While this game has improved every year from a gameplay perspective and has added some presentation features like showing cut scenes from Pros in Career Mode & some of the Clubhouse, Area, etc. between holes, I think the overall Presentation of the Courses, especially the 2K Official Real Life Courses across all modes, needs big improvement…I think cut scenes of each hole before teeing off will be nice with some commentary about the hole and maybe some history about it will be nice as well I think it will a really cool to add a dynamic environment feature, toggle on or off, into playing a round of golf across all modes. This includes the time-of-day changes as you play (Ex: if you start in the early afternoon, the round finishes in the evening) and adding a Full Weather feature into the game and how the weather can affect your play like when it rains lightly vs. heavy. Make the weather dynamic as well (Ex: it could rain some holes and then clear up and become sunny again), have the option to make Weather dynamic or not.
More in-depth Career Mode Include a Full Customization of the PGA Tour Schedule. I love the feature in 2K23 where we can swap courses for some Tournaments and even the Major Championships and would love if that could be expanded on. Like being able to change the name of some of the events on the Schedule, excluding the Majors, and/or also being able to swap out any courses that are Official 2K Fictional Tournaments/Championships for any user created courses would be awesome to do! I know you can do this in Societies when it comes to Adding/Naming events and choosing whatever courses you want, including user created courses, but would also like to see this happen in Career mode as well for those who just want to play locally while still having your rivals & sponsors to various earn rewards
Have the option to do Career Mode with your Created Player or even with a Pro/Celebrity Golfer
Adding in certain objectives and challenges for some tournament events to earn additional branded cosmetics and in-game VC. I really like the Smerf app that was implemented into 2K23 and I would love to see these challenges go more into Career Mode to build more depth into Career Mode. Also, I think that the objectives and challenges should change and be new every season so they won’t get repetitive as well! I love the rivals feature in career mode and being able to expand off that would be great as well. Every time you set your current rival and beat them and then play them again, you can get different apparel, amount of VC, etc. based off the time of the season and/or when a new season comes around so it’s not repetitive and gets boring after a while. Same goes with the Branded Sponsors you have for your clubs, golf balls, and apparel; maybe as you level up and get new items, they refresh and change when a new clubhouse season starts.
More Customization options for your Created Player and Caddie & Golf Bag
One thing I would love to see added in the next game is a Face Scan feature! I think it is really cool how other sports game Franchises like NBA 2K & MLB The Show have this feature for their Created Players and think it would be so cool have it in the PGA Tour 2K Franchise some day! I like the presets that are available for your created player and caddie in 2K23, but a Face Scan feature will be really cool to have and can upload your Face Scan through a PGA Tour 2K Companion App you can get from the Apple/Google Play Store
While they are a good amount of presets for your caddie, I think there needs to be more customization options for your Caddie and Golf Bag…I don’t mind if the Caddie & your Golf Bag don’t have Golf Brands on them, but being able to have more customization options for your caddie like what color shirt, pants, shoes, caddie vest they wear will be nice to customize, along with your created player’s Golf Bag. Being able to design your Golf bag with various colors, patterns, and even adding basic logos to choose from will be nice to do, especially if the Caddie and Golf Bags don’t end up having Golf Brands on them. I think adding the Caddie and Golf Bag into 2K23 was really cool, but it was bummed on how limited you can customize your caddie and Golf Bag and would love to see this expanded upon in the next game!
A Historic Challenge Mode that includes Historic Golfers where you can Unlock them after Completing a Challenge and use them as Playable Characters Across All Modes
The Top Golf Mode was added for 2K23 and while I thought it was cool that a new mode was added like that, I really didn’t play that mode often, as it got boring after a while…. I think a Historic Challenge Mode like this would be awesome to add to the game!
Players can recreate some of the most amazing shots/events/comebacks etc. in PGA Tour History that are associated with all the Official Real-Life Courses that PGA Tour 2K has made up to date by the Golf’s Greatest players.
This mode can be made and varied by difficulty; earn basic rewards by completing the easier challenges and then by completing the harder challenges you can unlock the Historic Golfers to use as Playable Characters across all modes!
Golfers I want to see Added into the Game (Real and/or Fictional) across All Modes
Arnold Palmer Gary Player Tom Watson Ben Hogan Sam Snead Seve Ballesteros Payne Stewart Jack Nicklaus Bobby Jones Byron Nelson Other Historic Players (Male & Female) Happy Gilmore Shooter McGavin
These are just some I can think of that could be added to game based off the Historic Mode I suggested above and in General across All Modes. While I think it’s cool that PGA Tour 2K23 has added Celebrity Golfers like Stephen Curry, Michael Jordan, Nateshot, Dude Perfect, etc. to name a few, I don’t play with them nearly as often….But I would, without a doubt, play with these Golfers I mentioned above since they are some of the Greatest the sport has ever seen! Also, Since Chris McDonald (the Actor of Shooter McGavin in the Movie, Happy Gilmore) is one of the main advertising talents for the PGA Tour 2K Franchise, I would love to see his movie character, Shooter McGavin, and Adam Sandler’s, Happy Gilmore character get added into the game as Playable Characters one day with Happy Gilmore’s signature swing! Even if the Happy Gilmore Characters are a part of a Post-Launch DLC Pack for Purchase, I would still pay for it and use their characters in-game rather than using any the Celebrities as playable characters that come in post-launch game updates at no additional charge. Same goes with the Historic golfers, mentioned above…Even if these golfers come into the game as Post-Launch DLC characters for Purchase, Individually or in a Historic Pack, I would pay to use to these golfers across All Modes than use any of the Celebrity golfers!! Now I would prefer to unlock the Historic players at No Additional Cost, if a Historic Challenge Mode is added, but the Historic Golfers could still be added as DLC if people don’t want to wait around and try to earn the Historic Golfers in the Challenge Mode.

Cross platform societies. Handicaps based on society rounds played for stableford and strokeplay handicap tournaments Match play tournaments for societies. Team Ryder Cup style tournaments for societies. The ability to check out other members scorecards for completed tournament rounds Shots of the tournament can be viewed in society and voted as the best of the week That's my one wish...cross platform societies. I'm not a designer so I got nothing there....but would love to see scores across the whole spectrum of consoles.

From a swing mechanics point of view, I think there should be no such thing as 'perfect', and the degrees of fast or slow are not distinct zones (e.g. grey fast or slow). Instead of defined zones, the centre of the timing hotbox is infinitesimally small, and the distance from the centre mark effects ball contact and dispersion in a more continuous manner.
For the designer - better 'burnt out' textures, fescue / native rough areas as a 3d surface as opposed to placing objects, better ability to create sharper angles, lipped bunkers (which comes in part by allowing sharper angles), ability to create narrower cart paths (0 spline width is still substantially wider than real cart paths), more 'component parts' in the assets which can be rotated 360 degrees in any axis, ability to 'area select' only placed assets and not terrain brushes (and vice versa).
Obviously career mode needs a substantial upgrade, and cross platform societies is a no-brainer.
I also think green roll physics needs some work.
Ability to fly around the course on console.
Australian flora in the designer (gums, grass trees etc).
Better drop options for hazards, including lateral hazards.

Retaining walls without a lip on so it doesn’t stop the ball rolling in.
Fescue as a layer as standard that is removed by laying “medium rough” or other surfaces.
Choice of more backgrounds including a plain one and a city scape.
Random pins - let the designer set 4 pins but have an option to mix them up at random from hole to hole.
Water hazards defined by a red or yellow spline you draw around the water, this would define the type of drop required.
Splinable OB - it’s ridiculous this isn’t a thing.
Option to toggle on/off auto bunker sculpting.
Different types of mow patterns like cross hatch or single line down middle of fairway.
Fringe as a splinable layer with added mow pattern as a stand-alone to the green mow pattern.
Flag poles with different flag options.
And finally, give me some @!$#ing Heather!

I don't have the EA game but I understand there is limited wardrobe unlike 2k and clubs are cosmetic and aside from a couple of different looks you might get on the woods and hybrids the irons are only going to be some type of silver color. Or black or beryllium. I don't know how much career anyone could play really it has to get stale.

One thing you've got to give EA credit for is their commitment to their game. 8 patches since release in April - all in the face of dismal sales figures. I doubt that 2K/HB has released 8 patches total for the last 3 iterations of their game. I think that EA is throwing money at a dying game and that, without a swing mode equivalent to 2Ks controller swing and without country clubs/societies, they are squandering an immense amount of effort/money. But just imagine how good a game we would have from 2K if they put half as much effort into fixing their game that EA does in an effort to sell a failed vision of computer golf. I'm sure that EA has multi-year licenses with the PGA and many other golf related entities so I am hopeful that they will stay in the golf game. But I won't be able play their product again until they show some sign that they are changing their vision of the product.

Problem is the EA patches break more than they fix. The game was rushed out to get on the market before the Masters. Incredible that after 8 years past Rory their product still sucks.

Finesse shots, knock down shots, the fact you can only do certain shots with certain clubs in 2k, while the swing mechanics are better in 2kmits still missing some of the finer aspects of golf. In terms of clubs it’s not about cosmetics it’s about the lack of brands and models in 2k. Like game improvement irons should not be in a golf game that’s designed for you to be a pro golfer.

Just missing too many things in the game like shaft brands, grip brands and some of the better club brands
