Hi,
* Set the stands silent, unless it is a tournament. Wasn't that the case in earlier versions

How did you find the putting with the G7 with the polling rate at its default, 250Hz? Putting was fine at 250hz but changed the higher you set it at 500hz sometimes the club wouldn’t push through to hit the putt on short putts and got worse at 1000hz. I feel it would play ok at 250hz if I was to calibrate in game but I’m still using my wolverine. Did you find it easier to regulate your tempo with the Gamesir G7 over the Wolverine? Tempo control is what gives me a fit with my Microsoft Elite 2 controller.

Tempo control is what gives me a fit with my Microsoft Elite 2 controller. Honestly the G7 is night and day difference for tempo than a Series X controller so I assume the same for the Elite. Because Microsoft controllers communicate less with the console/PC it produces less accurate readings of the stick speed. I think 250hz polling rate is the absolute bare minimum needed for this game. What I found with the Series X controller I had no tempo feel as fast or slow tempo felt no different. It just felt like it was random timings. The DS5,DS4 and V2 and G7 work great for this game for tempo. The Microsoft controllers are a waste of time unless you just want frustration. The G7 SE suits me most so it is my favourite controller for this game. I did find tempo easier with the V2 as it requires a much faster stick speed than any other of these controllers, but I much prefer those sticks on the G7. The V2 sticks just feel too loose for my liking. Maybe just try both and return the one you like least.Every controller feels different even the DS4 and DS5 sticks feel different to me from eachother.

Unfortunately you will get that inconsistency with all wireless Xbox controllers, wired controllers either Wolverines or G7 will always give you more consistency with their faster poling rates. That’s what I’ve found anyway, the G7 I found I need to push through slower than the wolverine. When I first got the wolverine I got slows 95% of the time and I countered that by pulling the aim marker back on every shot. Doing that shifts your perfect tempo left which meant I hit lots of perfects but it slows your backswing down so I ended up with more 96% shots so I had to wait for the backswing more. I then calibrated and that removed the slows quite a bit so I did prove the calibration does work which is something I thought was a placebo by HB. I’m using the wolverine and if I switch to the G7 I find I hit lots of fasts until I re adjust to it. Putting is fine with both controllers.

I used to use an Elite controller and although it was smoother than a standard controller it still suffered the inconsistency of fast swings or slow swings seemingly out of nowhere. I put that down to issues with the signal to the console being interfered with by other WiFi signals round the house. I have no idea if that’s correct but that was my feeling. I do prefer the faster push through of the wolverine over the slower push through of the G7 but that’s just my swing. I also don’t like the top of the thumb sticks on the G7 they’re slightly domed in the centre so I swapped them out for a pair of replacement Xbox thumb sticks that are concave in the centre and they feel better to me. It’s each to their own I feel with this game.

Realistic spin Realistic rules for drop zones A tougher test of virtual golf.
Nail those 3 and we are good to go.

I have found that I actually do better with my stock XBox Series X controller than I do the Elite 2, in terms of tempo management. It's still off the charts though with some of the tempos I get. You're making the G7 sound more like what I'm after. I prefer a slower swing, so the G7 may be more like it. Interesting work around you developed there with the pulling back of the aiming marker. I'm going to see if I can't make it work for me on my Elite 2.

You will still get the stupid very fasts and very slows out of nowhere, moving the aim marker worked with the slow swings I got with the wolverine as I got very slows 90% of the time. If your getting very slows with your controller moving the aim marker back towards you will help you get closer to perfects if your getting fasts it will only make them faster.

As in, I hope heavy rough really catches the ball and firm greens mean something. I also hope tee shots become more valuable and difficult

I was thinking about this recently. I would love to see the following from a gameplay perspective that would help make the Designer better and more realistic and add to the variety in the game.
- Variations in wind speed and direction. As the round goes and from shot to shot, it would be great to see this change throughout that way you couldn't get dialed in - For those who play 3-click, I would love to see a power and accuracy meter separated, similarly to the kicking meter in College Football 25. This would especially apply to putting where the meter from longer distances would be harder to judge. I think it would also be interesting to build in a confidence measurement to the swinging because just like in real life, as you make a few good swings, the game gets easier - Would be awesome to see grain in grass, but this is not going to happen

I'm not a programmer. How hard would it be for 2K/HB to design a career mode where the player could design their own tours, while allowing 2K/HB to feature theirs alongside it? I mean the average player could simply continue to play the new game's career mode, but those of us who like tinkering with this kind of thing could design everything ourselves and use whatever courses we want.
