And the specific theme they used at Pinehurst, too. I would also like it if they stopped removing courses from the servers that have no reason to be taken away ("Safe Haven Shores TGCT" is no longer searchable for some reason now?), and I wish they'd fix/re-implement the ability to have more than just 6 pages of favorites. It must be Pinehurst I’m thinking of has the white sandy ground outside the fairways that look like waste bunkers If I remember correctly, I think both Spyglass Hill and Pinehurst No. 2 have unique themes. They could be using the same theme, perhaps, but either way, whatever themes those courses have are not available to us mere mortals...haha

Some designer features: 1) Modular clubhouse elements; eg doors, dormer windows, arches, building blocks, some clocks, towers etc rather than having to smoosh whole buildings together 2) leaderboards, ideally showing live in-game scores, with styles from various irl tournaments 3) gates to go with each wall style 4) crowd ropes 5) make long grasses a surface rather than objects, with configurable grass types, mixes and heights, multiple rough types per course (first cut, light rough, heavy, long grass etc) 6) full 3 axis rotation for all objects 7) splinable sculpting, ie can create shapes for sculpting with splines, full control of edges (ie smooth all the way up to razor sharp 90 degree edges). Can convert surface splines to sculpt splines 8) bigger range of firmness and speeds; the hardest fairways should be seriously bouncy and run for miles, like in the “other game”.
non designer features 1) seeing players on other holes and bystanders other than spectators 2) walking and cart simulator as you move between shots and holes 3) add penalty to shot difficulty for blind and semi blind shots, would make game much more strategic, and make for more viable hole design options. Could do similar for awkward lies, so not just a question of adjusting aim. Could also add penalties for shots over ob, water, bunkers etc. could have these more RPG elements toggleable. 4) get rid of the stupid ball bonuses. Make ball physics as realistic as possible.

I just remembered another one, possibly the biggest one of all for me since it causes me the most irritation.
In 2K25, can the developers please fix it so that the player's head and body doesn't cover the hole when putting!

It's actually funny because I've gotten so good at these putts by just putting the flag in and aiming by feel since you can't see the hole itself 😅

Honestly, I think HB peaked with 2k21. My lack of faith in them after 2k23 is disturbing.
My wish list would be to delete 90% of what they added to 2k23 and give us a much better, immersive, career mode.
Polish all the bugs that have been around for years. Speed the servers up, sick of the loading times and crashes because of it.

As I'm playing a round, here's a wishlist item I'd love to see corrected.
See through obstructions so we can actually see our player ahead of that tree or spectator structure. Sometimes the tab-key will alleviate the problem, but a lot of the time you're just swinging and hoping.

5 small things:
1 - The ability to play a practice round with multiple balls 2 - An easier ability to hit mulligans on practice rounds 3 - The ability to watch a number of ghosts play a round without having to play yourself 4 - In multiplayer the ability to watch other players' shots from the green/approach 5 - The ability to set up your shot/view the green/fly around during other player's shot setup

In general, I think 2k21 was a better release overall, except for some of the game mechanics that have definitely improved in 23 and some additions in the designer. The menus feel simpler and the rendering seemed better in 21 (feels like long distance draw is worse in 23??). In general, 23 is mostly a new coat of paint on many of the same UI menus, but somehow got worse to navigate. Also, stop showing me an advertisement every time I go to the main menu, I paid for the game and want to play it, not constantly dismiss stupid full screen ads. Sure we got Tiger, MJ, etc. - but that doesn't make it a new game, there needs to be more improvements to justify any new title. Downhill puts are too harsh, and putting up large slopes is nearly impossible in many cases resulting in the ball going back further than your first putt. Some suggestions off the top of my head...
For gameplay: 1. If the course does not have crowds or they're turned off in the round settings, kill the goofy waving - can't tell ya how much I hate my golfer waving to nobody on every green. 2. Let me choose no crowds by default instead of having to do it every time I play a course. 3. Feels like the caddies have added zero value, so either add more interaction with them or remove them. 4. Seems like fairway/light & heavy rough are velcro, anytime a ball gets near them coming off a green it stops too quickly, get the physics of that tuned better. 5. Maybe create "outfits" that you can customize with different clothing options and make it a choice before playing a round, so you can decide what you want to wear based on preset outfits per round (and set for tournament days by default). 6. Offer various expressions for player, like different swing styles, reactions, etc. 7. Stability! I cannot believe how buggy this game still is, and it's mostly the same issues we had in 21, how can they not be fixed by now?
For the design editor: 1. Allow for versioning without having to publish. 2. Maybe allow for publishing a course with a "Beta" tag and allow for filtering in search to keep the main search cleaner. This way, folks can publish and be clear whats WIP and others who want to check those out can easier. 3. Offer a better way to "draw" than throwing down a million small measurements. It makes it really hard to remove without losing all other measurements in your course. Or at least offer an easier way to multi-select measurements to remove easier. 4. Allow removing of specific objects easier if you're in the mode of adding an object. This would work like crowds tool today, where when you're placing crowds with a shape (like a circle) you can also just hover over an existing crowd and hit X to delete it. Would make it much easier to remove certain objects in a crowded area. 5. Allow for "components" or "groups" - I often create an area on my plots to plant combos of objects like trees, grasses & bushes, then I go there to copy and paste those groups to place in my course. Its a hack, tedious and slow, but if I could create custom groups and have a way to just cycle through those like all other objects where I am, it would be much faster. 6. Allow consoles to do plot view (high altitude) to get a better sense of routing quality.
For finding courses: 1. Better search, improve results for misspelled names, add designer name search, etc. 2. Add more detail to search results - like seeing multiple photos of the course before having to play (like TGC course listings offer, but maybe more, maybe videos?) 3. Not sure why, but the difficulty rating on course results seem useless, they pretty much always say "Easiest" - could those be ore nuanced? Yardage helps me see challenge for long clubs, what about adding a greens rating. Often times I want a course with easier greens when playing online with buddies who are less skilled, but that is hard to find. 4. Many categories in the search are pretty terrible, I only use HCP and the search. 5. Improve the Designer's profile view from course details, I often see the View Designer button disabled on Course Details and would like to view other courses by that designer (please add list of courses by the designer in their Designer view).
Of course we all love this game/franchise, it is why we are hear spouting off so much, we just want it to be as good as it can be, I get that there are limits. I know I have a bunch more thoughts, will update as I think of them...

Fixing hazard and drop mechanics is a good one, ability to add drop zones in the designer, etc. basically every golf video game ever has done this really poorly

If I press the left button during the other player's shot setup it changes the camera view to behind left, and if I press it again once the shot is struck the camera view changes to look back down the fairway at the incoming shot. Sometimes the view is direct and sometimes it's less so, but at least it kind of does what you describe. I assume this can be reproduced using m+k as well, but I'd have no clue about that.

Change Vibration to difficulty setting rather than a control setting! People play this game with vibration on? Well since this game doesn't know what friction is (and we aren't allowed to chip on greens unless it's a certain length) I use it for putting on the long putts. I like using as controller on my PC for all games except strategy games. Anyways now that I'm getting back into this game warming up for next season I instantly came across what's I'd like to see in the next game; -Graphic overhaul for characters, including animations (they walk funny). -Improve friction/ spin. Everything feels so clinical and like playing on pavement from the fairways to the greens. -Scoreboards. Why is it playing on the weekly event it doesn't show the top score...for the round? It will say something like -6 but then when you finish 18 holes the top player is like -16. We are not playing live at the same time. Otherwise just get rid of the scoreboard until the final day before the week event ends. -Sounds. Everything is sounds clicky, putting and iron shots. -Divots, where are they? The base game is good but with a new engine and improved graphics I think it could be a great game.
