Same hole or have you got a new hole to despise? 14th. Total loss of concentration this time. I think that's my biggest hurdle so far. I'd played so much 2k21 I could autopilot and score well whereas I'm nowhere near there on this one. I'm learning though. Slowly! That hole is a f#%ker too, believe it or not, they moved the tee nearer to the 13th green a few years ago to get people playing away from the houses more. I thought this was stupid at the time so used the original tee |

Round two started with some random tempos so I quit the round whilst ball still in the air but going into rough. Came back and it put me ten yards off the tee... don't quit mid flight is my advice! ended up +3 through 4 holes before getting warm. Reeled off 3 birdies on the bounce, including the 6th to get some revenge for Craig / Hendomedes! Birdied the short 12th before making an ace on the 13th, 2 more birdies at 16 and 17 to close out at 64 (-5) and -8 overall. more importantly 2 behind rob4590 halfway. Can home advantage get me within the goal of 10 shots at the end? Bit biased but feel the setup from fransslabak has been great so far, these are greens that can get wild north of 155 so 143 is playing very nicely so far once you get to understand where to put it on the 4th and 6th (even then, they're easy bogeys) |

Round 3 a bit sloppy, couple of bad mistakes cost me although a hole out for eagle on 8 was good fun, laboured to a -4 to sit 12 going into the final round.
Rob had an incredible round of 59 so I now sit 8 behind, going to need something good in round 4 to stay within 10

Round 4 was a big disappointment, bogied 1 and 3 to ship shots early to the course despite a benign setup. The 6th hole decided to bite me after a birdie in round 2, second shot didn't quite get to the top of the slope leaving me 40 foot for birdie, left it short about 6 foot but it stayed up the top of the tier. Had 3 more putts from there, all within 6 feet to close out a calamitous triple bogey 7. Craig / Hendomedes I've rented a JCB digger, will meet you at the 6th green at 6pm to dig it up! A few birdies towards the finish got me into the house with a 71 to finish -9 for the event. I did not finish 10 shots within Rob, not even close. Will have another go next week. |

Think I played about 10 rounds on these settings the first week the game came out. Then went 3-click (which is unplayable at times due to the lag) and then gave up the game and went back to 2k21. Tonight, playing my 2k21 career I thought, course is getting rave reviews and it’s a UK course so why the @!$# not, let’s play 2k23. Went in Stone Cold Steve Austin. First tee shot behind a tree. Lovely. Played ok at times and the game ran smoothly for a change. 73 (+4) which I’ll take as the game is quite diff to 2k21. And yep, lovely course. May have to get together with gavlaar124 and drive down to play it. |

Golf.
Those first 2 rounds might have made me the most frustrated I’ve been in this tour. Nothing was dropping.

Well reality stucked today. I knew on 2nd hole that I would have a very tough time playing in these unplayable conditions today. And the -1, +2, -1 and -6 speaks for itself
I even foolishely try to switch my tempo pace from a fast to a slow swing to see improvements. Archetype switch too. Nothing change
I don't need any more rounds to draw a final conclusion: eating 7 edibles one hour before playing makes the game unplayable! 😅

I tried a TST on mushrooms last year and it was easier than yesterday! Take a look at this. I was playing decent despite missing every fairways in the round so far. That ended there. How high you gotta be to think the ball with hit the tree in "front" of me after the drop!? haha! But something great came out of this. I kept playing after the TST and I changed my swing to adapt. And it's working like a charm today. It's an idiot proof swing that I can't miss. It's just like my hands are locked and the only thing that can happen when I swing is a good shot either perfect or in the very low penalty zone of greys. From driving to putting, the same way of holding the controller. No practice needed, I get my swing back on first hole of the day! |
