Dear TST enthusiasts and default ball lovers, This week, for the YOYO Championship, I'm taking you to the UK to play West Hill Golf Club. This course is a little different; it's a par 69 and has some tricky greens but it's beautiful. However, don't use DW off the tee without first checking whether that's a good idea! Let's see how you all get on here, now that sticky, ever-flying balls are no longer available. Have fun and good luck, Frans

Had a steady opening 1st rd on paddy's course on the xbox , coming down the 18th tying with the famous horusphoenix on 3 under , then hit an approach shot in the middle of the bushes to the left of the green with the fancy red flowers , had a nightmare getting back out , double bogey , went to the 19th hole sobbing on 1 under . Great course

Three under first round for me too. With a triple on the sixth - I think - thanks to a five putt 😂
I really liked the course as well. Played nicely on default balls, calls for a lot of strategy and looked beautiful. Not too far from me either I believe!
(Might take a drive down and give the sixth green a fair thump tbh lol)

Please stay below the hole particularly on the 4th and 6th hole. You’ll have a bad time if you don’t. Even if it pitches below and rolls further away, this is still better than long! I really hope you enjoy the recreation of this top 100 UK course. The greens are notorious and the pro am each year is typically won around -2 for 18 holes, even when pros like Matt Fitzpatrick turn up to play. Don’t be deceived by the length or par, this is a thinking course, not a blaze away course. If you hate the course, please take it up with the original architect, Cuthburt Butchart who died 60 years ago! Hopefully you enjoy the environment I’ve created and appreciate a golden age course and it’s unique nuances

(Might take a drive down and give the sixth green a fair thump tbh lol) You absolutely should, I was an assistant pro there for 2 years and it’s still one of my favourite tracks, right up there with Swinley, Hankley Common and Sunningdale for that region. You hit the nail on the head, it’s a course that needs to be played exactly the same way by all lengths of golfers, whether it means one hits driver, one hits 3 wood and the other a 3 iron on the same tee shot. For me that is architecture that stands the test of time, which is why I love this course. Must have been a beast in 1909 when it opened. The back pin at the 6th is used often and is just as hard IRL, you try to nail it but if you go long, you will be chipping off the front and if your first putt doesn’t get all the way up, it’s coming back to you. It’s still a legal pin for TGCT 9 box rule but it’s a toughie. Even though I know it, I still 3-4 putt it regularly

Great course Could be worse, IRL on my first day at the club I hit a 5 iron that leaked and hit the path before bouncing into the car park below. Luckily missing all the cars. Arguably the toughest closing hole in the South of England. Many a good score has vanished in the rhododendrons left, including lots of mine

I thought this was the Irish course but it was last week! Could still take the Stena Line over to have a pop at the sixth though And yep, totally agree on the layout. Loved it and could see it being a great course for local amateur tournaments. Even on the first tee I spent a good two or three minutes debating hitting driver before settling on three iron. And for all my moaning at the time, sixth is fair but tough. I knew the slope was there but like you say I was scared of putting it too long then having the downslope behind the hole on the return. Tough but no complaints at all! I did admire the Longpole bushes from afar also

Had it going good round 1, was -6 through 15 and had left a few out there, drove it over the ditch on 16 and it certainly looked like -7 was incoming, a very slow flop later, followed by an under hit chip and a double dropped me to -4, a sily bogey on the next par 5 got me back to -3 where I finished. bitten by my own creation, that hurts.

A friend that I used to play all my RGT and TST rounds from on TGC1 and 2 finally got the game. So for his first round on the game I played a private match with him on West Hill GC as it is visual treat. He is loving the new game and we played TST settings but with no marker, had a great laugh, private live matches play really well just hope they fix the annoying fast forward turn based ghosts as that is so immersion destroying.

Played Round 2 as well tonight.
Pros: Probably my favourite course in the game so far I absolutely love it. Great job Paddy if you're the designer and set up perfectly Frans. My most enjoyable days golfing on this version so far. Had a (default) ball playing today.
Cons: another f***ing triple! haha

Cons: another f***ing triple! haha This was my most played course on 2K21 Craig, the port to 2K23 has really upped the morning mist feel with the lighting and fog Paddy chose for default, looks fantastic especially with HDR. Looking forward to TST this week.

First round the course tortured me and rightfully so; played like a spoiled brat, going for pins I had no business going for. Two double bogies and two bogies, fought back to E.
Second round I gave the course the respect it deserves and it started loving me back: -8

Total loss of concentration this time. I think that's my biggest hurdle so far. I'd played so much 2k21 I could autopilot and score well whereas I'm nowhere near there on this one. I'm learning though. Slowly!
