-12 for the first round of the Elite event. The slower and less slopey greens compared to the platinum event helped make putting a bit easier, tee to green obviously easier as well although I still hit a fair few off target. My view is that master is probably the ideal blend of challenge without being too frustrating. I've shot rounds anywhere between even and -13 on these settings, the really low ones aren't that frequent, so far at least.

Elite - master - shot -11. Nice - but pretty straighforward. Platinum - legend - shot -3. Loved every minute of the challenge - top tier needs to be on these settings for sure - much more enjoyable having to really concentrate hard to score like this. The faster greens (173 ish) are pretty damn quick in this game! People are really going to have to check the speeds on their ported courses, otherwise a bunch of them will be unplayable at default.

Platinum Legend on PS5, no skills, no club fittings, default golf balls.Swing type analog. No lag or graphics issues.
some stats from my round fairways in regulation 46 percent green in regulation 44 percent proximity to hole 41 feet birdies 2: pars 8: bogeys 6: double bogeys 2 score for round one +8
As a mid tier challenge circuit player last season I was not expecting much and while my scores reflect that I played better than I thought I would, a lot of scrambling pars and it was not until the last few holes that I fell apart, after 12 I was just 2 over, a quick pair of double bogeys put paid to any chance of keeping my score down. I hit just three perfects all round but my tempo has not been great the last few days. I enjoyed the challenge of the round, it was a battle but never felt unfair.

Not set out myself yet but finding this thread an interesting read already. Was worried that players may find Master too much of a slog but refreshing to read players enjoying the challenge. My biggest fear was seeing CC stay with Pro and -12 rounds needed to make a cut. We should be challenged in a competitive league so hopefully Master makes the cut. So far I’ve struggled but never felt it was unfair, usually all down to my poor shooting.

Played the first round this morning on the Elite settings. Can't see them being on anything easier so used this as a starting point.
-14 on round one. If I'm a bit sharper that's definitely sub -18 as I made a couple of stupid errors and didn't feel like my tempo was particularly good. For reference that's with a couple of green fittings on my irons and and a basic +4 power fitting on my driver so I'd imagine as I earn better fittings that will get lower. Also for reference I'm using Rhythm archetype.
It feels very very easy tee to green to me so far on master. I think the key to the tours being somewhat competitive and fun will be our talented designers building courses around the mechanics otherwise we're looking at -72 and below very soon I'd wager.
Going to try legend later but the issue with legend on Xbox is you can't hit greys at all and the black misses are - imo - too punishing to have any sort of balance. I'll post what I shoot though.

Challenge Circuit Pro on PS5, no skills, no club fittings, default golf balls. Swing type analog. No lag or graphics issues.
some stats from my round fairways in regulation 100 percent green in regulation 78percent proximity to hole 26feet Eagles 2: birdies 7: pars 8: bogeys 1 double bogeys 0 score for round one -10
So much easier on pro, still not hitting a lot of perfects, but my misses less severe. I think the greens played a big part of my scores here, there was a lot of straight putts. A bit more movement on the greens and I am sure a couple of putts would not have dropped. This was my first round on pro since I got the game. I lot of the challenge from playing master or legend swing was gone, it felt very much like last season on 2021. A concern for me with the pro swing is needing to shoot at least 10 under a round to make the cut especially on the higher challenge circuit players but also that has to be offset of the skill level of lower tiers, glad I am not a admin. So far for me, masters is the sweet spot. Hopefully a lot more challenge circuit players will give feedback how they feel about the difference in swing types.

As others have said, legend is very fun to play and a great challenge. I really hope there will be flights for people that choose to compete in legend with each other that aren’t necessarily good enough to make the top tours. Especially considering the upgrade systems that will make the game play even easier.

Beer League - 3 click. Not played a 3-click game since TW08 - decided to just jump in - and had no idea - advanced the ball 100 yards after 2 shots. Did the training, then shot even for the round. Obviously takes a bit of getting used to - but it will be so easy compared to analog once you have done - exact distance control assist, putting much easier etc. Needs to just stay as beer league only with this input method - but will be quite fun to play as an optional extra.

Distance control much easier because everything is tied to the marker. You also need scout cam to see where to put the marker for partial distances. But it is much more difficult to hit straight than analog (for me anyway)and that's on Pro. Master and Legend are pretty tough so will be interesting to see what scores people are hitting.

So I ventured out, very average CC player. Struggling a little on Elite, something like 8 over after two. No issue with the challenge though.
Only played about half a dozen rounds at Master level. First impressions are driving and long irons a little too easy, short game punishments a little on the harsh side. It definitely needed toughening up but in my opinion they've gone a little too far. We're not all metronomes with the swing stick!!

That swing path improvement is a godsend for me.will also help your putting distances. No point reading no grid putts really well if you can't hit the damn putt straight 😆. You can still hit drives around 300yards so not too short to start off with. There are plenty of club fittings earned that add power also as you progress through career mode. I have been going more for swingpath than tempo as the my DS4 is pretty loose.

I'm a very committed player to this game more so on the true sim side and I can't wait to get back (on holiday)and give the game a blast but I can't understand why you would wanna make the tours easier, the challenge circuit is where most players are and you've made it pro difficulty which is easier than 2k21 and you've included an open swing which I feel is wrong it's gotta be masters and analog surely , keep the 3 click to the beer league surely. If you keep it this way it will be Mickey mouse scoring and boring and totally unfair if u keep it open on the swing type .

Different set ups in different tiers to see what works. They aren't sticking with these. Just trying everything to see how we all get on. Get the beers in

Kinetic Master on PS5, no skills, no club fittings, default golf balls. Swing type analog. No lag or graphics issues.
some stats from my round fairways in regulation 92 percent green in regulation 44 percent proximity to hole 27 feet Eagles 0: birdies 2: pars 3bogeys 1 double bogeys 0 score for round one +1
First, if I had scheduled this with those long par 4s, I would have been lynched. Anyway, I played very poorly, especially with approach shots, I gave myself very few birdie chances, I hit more perfects this round than I did on legend and surprisingly pro. The over par score is down simply to playing poorly, despite that, just one over, so not overly punished for bad shots. So after three rounds with each swing type, it is masters for me, the right amount of challenge with out being to penal. I also enjoyed the legend swing, pro was maybe to easy. These opinions of an average cc-d player and while I would like to see masters on the challenge circuit, I know there is a balancing act needed so all players of all skill levels get to enjoy the game and have fun on the tours, sometimes it’s to easy to think of the me and not the you so if the challenge circuit ended up as pro, I understand. I will play more rounds over the coming days to see if my opinion changes any.
