Regarding VC: My gut feeling is that we are not getting as much virtual money as at 2k21, but I could be wrong. I am feeling this as well. I am playing career mode on Master, playing well and winning events, and have something like 1,000 VC in my bank and am at level 22. I think I am up to the fake "Masters" Legends Championship event in my first season. I have bought a few cosmetic things, but have not done any fittings, not bought any consumable golf balls, or not used VC for really anything else. And it just seems like earning it is more of a slog than it was in the last game. And I also still haven't gotten my 1300 VC bonus I was supposed to get for ordering the Tiger Woods Edition... Hmm. I'm currently grinding career mode and at level 20 with 3,500 VC. I have bought shoes and a cowboy hat and fitted most of my clubs plus two skills. I'm on PC. You?

I bought a pair of shoes, two polos, a couple golf balls (just the look of them), and one set of irons. I'm on PS4.

I'm sitting on just over 4k, at level 31 on PC. I'm about 1.5 seasons into career mode (first one on Pro, second on Master), and I've equipped a few orange fittings at a decent expense. But I did also get my 1,300 VC when I downloaded the game.

Event/Difficulty: Elite Tour Swing type (analog/3 click): Analog on PS5 Thoughts on how it played (frustration/fun factor): Played fine, would be too easy of a course for Elite. Sprinkled a few rain rounds in these events - if you get one and notice frame drops/lag please let me know here as well: No issues with the rain round.
Went -12/-7/-4/-5 for -28 and am more than 20 shots back of the current leader.

I mean point taken on a actually playing it first before having a comment but I can safely say that isn't going to change my mind on them changing course conditions when playing with others. It's not golf. I accept flight and spin characteristics but changing firmness and green speeds, hell no. The only reason you need them is to help with super hard and super fast greens because they made them that way to make sure the balls are needed in the hope people decide to spend actual money buying VC to get them. I know it's not something forced on you but on the basis of competition, knowing that you could be playing a completely different setup of course to someone else is ridiculous. That said, for solo play and a little help in career for example, they could help but again that's only because they've made it so. I'm just more excited about playing with a yellow ball or the Callaway with 3 lines on...when I do finally get it π The Callaway with three stripes - yep, got it! π I want the TP5 pix like I use for my real golf, be even better if it could line up properly to see it roll with the visual track π

Watch the previous shot finish. Is it rolling forever? Downhill lie. Is it pitching to the left? Ball above your feet (RH golfer), etc, etc. This will tell you how your ball will react on the next. There are a lot of visual clues - once you get used to looking for them it's quite natural. The whole point is to add a little more uncertainty on shots, which I think works reasonably well.
The ball below feet lay is very easy to recognize at this game, as the golfer shows both wrists dislocated to a very painful position And yes, I agree with you, it is part of the skills needed to observe and see how the ball is bouncing after each shot. What I still don't get is the influence of lay compared to the influence of wind. I am probably misjudging and correcting too much for lay, I always had a tendence to do that, although the PGA 2k series was not needing it that much, compared to other golf games. It can be.. but not to what degree. My point is that we allow the grid on the green. If it's easy to tell, why have a green grid? I can't help but think the lie grid is off because that's the default Master setting. Didn't we have lie grid on old TGC master?

I don't know how people play so well. I feel like my swing timing was all over the place compared to when I play my career, and the greens felt insanely fast. This is the first year I've played on Xbox, so that might be one of the issues. Either way, this year's game, especially playing in societies seems like a million times yarder than previous years. I shot like +64 or something ridiculous. What am I even doing here? lol

Finished up the Plat Event last night on PS5:
Round 3: -8 Round 4: -1
Finished -11 for the event. Being my first real go on Legend it was a blast and to come away under par feels like an accomplishment. I had no issues with the rain round, actually was good to have the different weather. I still feel like I could play this difficulty every week.

These guys think they own HB/2K or someone has a god complex.

I guess the last special event tournament I played in where they let everyone play, and I ranked around 3000 and something, there must have been 2500 bots.
Or maybe everyone but me has 5 accounts each and are VPN masters.
LOL

If you weren't around, you wouldn't have known.

These guys think they own HB/2K or someone has a god complex. You're a strange wee fella, aren't you? It's quite amusing that you think it remarkable that a forum full of experienced online gamers, might have an opinion on what is best for a game they have played competitively for coming on 10 years... Do a bit of digging. Check a bit of history... you'll see that quite often, forum feedback has resulted in change (sometimes reasonably significant) to the game we play. It's not an unusual thing, this developer feedback loop. Far from it in fact. Said it before, and I'll say it again - if you don't like being part of the discussions (some of which I'll admit, I find a bit out there), you're free to leave at any time. ROFL.
