Feel free to use this thread to chat about your rounds and experience using Master clubs. Obviously we won't solely rely on the data from these events when making a decision on settings for next season. We'll be running more exhibition events in 2K23 as well.
Society: TGCTours (Special Events) Tournament: Farewell 2K21 #1 (will be 6 events, 1 per week)

I forgot how finicky pitching is on Masters difficulty. This course in particular exposes that with a number of short-ish 4s and a long 5.

First round stats on Xbox: www.xbox.com/play/media/QUW7XYT2-7 for me to start with a really loose 3 wood into the water on the last. That was a beautiful course and felt like Kinetic level at least to my eye. Fwiw I really enjoyed it as an Xbox player. The leaderboard scores were much more in line with what I enjoy playing. But I totally understand what the guys are saying, this is the one game I'm actually good at and I know I'm probably in the minority of Xbox players who much prefer this swing difficulty. But yeah, I hope some guys surprise themselves.

I will try to play 1 rd/day to see if there's any perceived difference in swing tempo from day to day.
All rounds will be played with green grids OFF. Follow cam is/was used.
Rd 1 swing tempo results (could have missed one or two) 2 red fast / 27 perfect / 7 red slow / 4 very red slow / 0 greys
FIR 84.62 / GIR 55.56 / Prox to Hole 30.8'
Very early, but current Xbox leaderboard for those that have finished all four rounds.

Posted round 1 elsewhere, here is round 2: Boxes belong to me but the iggle on 12 was lucky magic. Went Full Vandelay Way and crushed driver on the short 4. Dead at it, couple of bounces then DOINK on the stick and left a tap in. Otherwise it could have been so much worse. Still avoiding splash from grass, better leaves this time for long chips or partial pitches. Ain't easy but is more of a challenge and I find that more fun. Onward!

Managed a 63 first round which was about what I expected given I haven't played on master pretty much all season. Back 9 was a bit better once I got a bit more used to the more narrow timing window. It probably feels like a bit much of a jump from pro, somewhere about 50-75% between pro and master would probably be the best trade off between difficulty and enjoyment level, for me anyway. But I may have a different view once I play more rounds.

Limped in at Even for the tournament. Couldn’t stay on the greens. Think I’ll wait for 2K23 🤣

Bit gutted to see TST exhibition is still Pro. No worries, back to career mode.

Bit gutted to see TST exhibition is still Pro. No worries, back to career mode. As explained in the forum and on discord; that was a bit of a fat finger incident… We’ll have some Master exhibition events in the next few weeks.

Not sure what par is but this is at least -7 and you're not happy?

I'm in the clubhouse at -26 with rounds of -8, -6, -6, -6.
It's very difficult to avoid being disappointed since I'm not used to missing that many tempos anymore. I only played Master for NFL Stableford last season, so it's become natural to expect hitting the desired spots.
I still think that there's not enough dispersion between perfect and grey misses. A perfect is always right on target, but as soon as the white area is missed by a tiny bit, the ball is deviated so much that a birdie becomes almost impossible. It's basically either a <10 ft putt or a >20 ft putt or worse.
Also, considering the early PC leaderboard, I predict a discussion about API thresholds incoming.
Cheers and good luck all!

-22 to finish. Two poor rounds in the middle (relatively; -4, -4). Hard to make a call on how I feel. I'm pretty sure it would prefer Master as that's how I play on all my true sim societies but one note I would make is these kind of tricked up courses with tiny landing zones on Xbox on master can get really old really fast. It turns into splash city where it's really easy to make par but you're hitting 30 yard splashes as your next shot every time you miss tempo because the greens just run off into almost vertical uphill lies in heavy rough everytime. I much prefer designs where an off tempo shot leaves you with a tricky putt from 40/50 feet but maybe that's just personal preference and maybe in hindsight this was more of a platinum set-up having played all four rounds. Maybe course choice will be a separate conversation if we go back to masters. Anyway, week one down. I enjoyed the swing difficulty, didn't like the course in the end but a useful exercise for sure. Looking forward to Frans fat fingers getting TST trial event set up for next week... 😉 As always, thanks for trying something different again Doyley and trying to keep things fresh and challenging.

I agree about the greens Craig. Not CC standard. I hit many, stayed on very few. And it just keeps rolling and rolling. I can’t say in the end it was a lot of fun but I wouldn’t expect to see those greens on CC next season.

An utterly pointless exercise - 2 rounds played, and (on PC, using XB controller) tempo is 100% random. Scores were -6 in each round. Very Slow 0
Red Slow 9
Grey Slow 20
Perfect 25
Grey Fast 16
Red Fast 18
Very Fast 0
Formerly (on this game on master swing) top 40 WGR, top 10 TST - and I get 25 of 88 swings allegedly as perfect. Yeah right........
There is zero correlation between input and output. Game is broken.
Not sure whether to laugh or cry at how bad it now is....

The reason I don't use an Xbox controller anymore. With a DS4 controller it's a totally different experience, game tempo plays fine with it.
