And actually I'm a little bit confused why Doyley wants to collect data on a game which will be obsolete in a few weeks anyway? Please tell me you guys still have the API... Reading is your friend... "If you recall, 2K/HB adjusted the swing a week into our 2022 season - so for these final few events we're going to go back to Master difficulty to gather some data on how well it is balanced with an eye on returning to it for 2K23."

I am hoping they fix the Xbox issue as much as anyone. Also I am hoping the new game isn't all about how straight your tempo and swing plane is. The good vibe I get is that you can pile tempo attribute points into your golfer build at the expense of swing plane. I have tested Xbox and PS controllers on PC and tempo is much more consistent on the PS controller. But I do find that swing plane is much easier on my Series X controller. So an Xbox player can make the game easier on tempo and tougher on swing plane. Also B101 said the Pros he played with that swing plane was difficult in the new game. There could be builds possible that help our weaknesses just shame there is a grind to get there, the new game might not be so tempo reliant. Partial shots do open up a different golf game to what we have now with splash and chip shots just being a variation of long game full shots in 2K 21 which does not represent the scrambling game of golf..

Not sure how your quote in any way answers Giraffes question which is about how data on this game will help determine what the difficulty is set on for the next game with presumably (even slightly) different mechanics... Fwiw Jamie, and I'm just surmising - I think it's probably just a bit of a post mortem of how the season could've played out given the last minute patch which caught us all blindsided, and maybe to see how some of us Xbox guys react? But yeah, worth asking for sure and either way it's a useful exercise I reckon.

I'm very interested in testing it out on the XBox side, since I've improved quite a bit this season (started in CC-L and finished in CC-G with a 1st and a 5th the last two weeks).
So my guess is Masters won't be as penal for me as it was the tail end of last season. Should have a chance to check it out either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Reading is my friend? Yes, I read all that thanks. Still not sure why collecting data on a game that's soon finished is of any use? The game is garbage on Xbox with Masters clubs. That hasn't changed. Maybe you should try reading as it's been done to death on this forum?

Main point is getting info on Master in 2K21 so I can compare apples to apples in 2K23. We haven't had any Master feedback since the swing change since we had committed to Pro at that time. Basically a litmus test as we say farewell to 2K21. Also, had to give a reason to play 6 events so data collection it is!

I won't go so far as to say it's garbage but Howdy Doody do I have to immerse myself in my isolation tank to maintain enough concentration to get a semblance of perfect. My mind wanders and before ya know it a strange interlude takes over and I've red slowed myself into a triple bogey. The big butt though is whatever tgctours decides to go with that's what I'm playing in all open societies.

I personally hope they change it to masters for the new game it's the best society out there and it certainly should be harder then what it is now . Happy golfing everyone however you play the game

Basically a litmus test as we say farewell to 2K21. Also, had to give a reason to play 6 events so data collection it is! I would be happy to play. As a late adopter of PGA 2K21 (less than a year) I have never played the tour, so I don't have a tour card. But I have always played Masters (except for a handful of rounds at Legend and the most recent 4 qualifying rounds which were at Pro settings.) I thought I had finished high enough in these most recent qualifying rounds to receive a tour card; however it appears no tour cards are being issued for those rounds. Not a complaint, I understand things are moving to the new game with new qualifying rounds. If it helps you collect data, I would be happy to play exhibition rounds. But, without a tour card, I can't enter. If there is another way I can play those rounds so you can collect the data let me know and I will play those rounds for you. If, however, you are primarily interested in Xbox data, I am no help. I push a mouse. Charlie

I sure hope as many folks as possible play these exhibition events. Realizing Master level has not been played by most of the TGCT rank and file, the experience could be ugly at times but the data will help the Admin here make an informed decision about the future of TGCT. Having only played Master in the NFL Stableford rounds since TGCT changed to Pro, my play at Master has been less than stellar but enjoyable in a closer to par way (over par most of the time but that is the Vandelay Way). But I will give it my best and hope my efforts help with that tough decision coming up for the Admin here. Onward!

I joined TGCT in December(XBOX) and have been steady in CC L. Played the first round of the new event under Master Swing(+8). Honestly, I had more Perfects than expected. Though a few Red Fast/Slow appeared that did not seem right for how my swing felt. I am far from an expert, and fully plan to play each week.

I think they'd be crazy to switch to Master based on this version of the game. At least on XBox, it's far less enjoyable with the tempo variances.

So, how are we even sure we'll be at the same level we are at when we start 2k23? Won't we have to build up our skills to be competitive?
I don't think we know enough about the new game to determine Master/Pro let alone anything else - am I wrong?

Happy golfing everyone however you play the game Yeah maybe garbage was a bit strong. Apologies but I had my back up! 😬 I have played it since. Ok the penalties aren't as severe but there's still no near miss. You're either perfect or miles away. Moving to Pro (while not ideal) did give us the grey miss which led to a much fairer and more enjoyable experience. I really hope we have a new game where we can move back to harder settings because I basically agree with your reasoning. Except the no grids bit, you can keep those
