Finished off the Platinum event, true to form and the reason I'm down in CC-G, fell to pieces in Round 2 to finish up -10 for the event. I suppose the inconsistency is down to the hit and hope style and also probably why I never missed having lie grid and wind speed in the Pro event!!
More than happy with the settings, just nice to run around and have fun without the fear I always suffered with at Master.
Personal preference...settings as these test events except for lie grid off also for CC but leave wind speed to differentiate between the two (as last season). Then those (obviously not me) attaining promotion to the Pro Tours will only have to face a climb in course difficulty, not have to get used to different settings. I appreciate we are trying to get numbers back but see no reason why anyone should be put off with these settings at Pro level.

I know it might not be a huge difference to some, but I'd really like CC to have the lie grid on, too. It's not a major thing as most have said, so if you don't want to use it, simply don't. But I have had trouble seeing slopes in shaded or up/downhill areas in some of these tests when purposefully trying not to use the lie grid. To me, this is a video game, and we still need some way to get an idea of the slope of the land - same as on the greens, I feel.

If it’s set to on I’ll have it on but I can live without it also.

Please Note: 1. Course yardage is set to Book Only 2. Aim Marker is set to Marker Only (means no distance/elevation will show above your aim marker) 3. Under Display & HUD menu you can set Distance Info Position to "In HUD". This will show the distance/elevation to the pin from your current position - if you have Distance Info Position set to On Marker you will not see this information (and be at a disadvantage).
The "In HUD" setting allows you to see elevation info on any shot you are hitting into a pin which is a must have. We can not set/lock Display & HUD settings so it's best to make sure users know the option to see some yardage and elevation info - without it this setup will not be fun.
I get the Aim Marker setting in the Difficulty menu and I get the Distance Info Position setting in the Display & HUD menu but I'm still not properly understanding the Course Yardage setting. Straight from the game it says... Course Yardage ON: Displays precise distances to the pin in the UI and enables the distance measurement cursor in the yardage book. BOOK ONLY: Disables the distance to the pin in the UI, but allows the measurement cursor in the yardage book. OFF: Disables all course yardage displayed aside from the length of the hole. When I set Course Yardage to BOOK ONLY I still see the distance to the pin info in the UI, where my UI is set to "In HUD" in the Distance Info Position setting. So... do I need to set my UI to "OFF" for the BOOK ONLY setting to properly take effect? This just doesn't seem right. What am I missing here? Thanks

I’m using PS leaderboard with Sattler Heads…and of the 21 PS players who have played 2 rounds I only see just one 59……the rest are 60s and 70s. Maybe you are thinking of the CC event…. Nope... I’m was using the Special Event #2 at Sattlers Head not the Plat society test you are showing me……so many tests, lol And what course is that?

Thanks The two settings combined is what we're going for. You see elevation info on all shots into a pin but have to eyeball/judge it otherwise (mainly on drives). Also removes the exact elevation/yardage info on the green (to your marker) while still giving you enough information to make a good putt.

The sooner you confirm, the sooner I can confirm I'm leaving one of my societies so they can arrange to replace me.

Just waiting for the current events to end so that any feedback given is taken into consideration. Will have the settings posted shortly after.

"Also removes the exact elevation/yardage info on the green (to your marker) while still giving you enough information to make a good putt." that I was still missing. I see now the distance/elevation does not move in the HUD display like it did on the marker. Got it now! Cheers

Playing this setup now in the Special Events area..... Even though I am CC and this is a Pro setup if I read everything correctly....I would be perfectly fine using these settings at the CC level.
If I am following along the only difference between CC and Pro right now is this HUD ordeal and the lie and wind readings set to on/open versus off?

My opinion hasn't changed, but I will play anything. No deal breakers really although, again, just a little annoying/frustrating at having to take a lot more time on the putts to determine power. That little time does add up when playing seriously since we can't see the number and have to zoom in on the marker.

But with it being Pro settings the drive and approach shots will be quicker as tempo won’t be a problem for the Plat players. So it kind of evens out…..plus there has to be some what of a thought process with putting with regards to Platinum IMO.
