Locked the other threads as I wanted to focus discussion on the settings that have been getting the most positive feedback as we get closer to landing on settings for the upcoming season.
Special Events has a couple of Platinum level events lined up while we're adding some to the Challenge Circuit with courses more tailored to that tour. Note that the Challenge Circuit Events will have Lie Grid and Wind Meter set to Open/On. Next one should be available Sunday.
Please Note: 1. Course yardage is set to Book Only 2. Aim Marker is set to Marker Only (means no distance/elevation will show above your aim marker) 3. Under Display & HUD menu you can set Distance Info Position to "In HUD". This will show the distance/elevation to the pin from your current position - if you have Distance Info Position set to On Marker you will not see this information (and be at a disadvantage).
The "In HUD" setting allows you to see elevation info on any shot you are hitting into a pin which is a must have. We can not set/lock Display & HUD settings so it's best to make sure users know the option to see some yardage and elevation info - without it this setup will not be fun.

I read this, but I still dont understand why the aim marker cant be left to what it was before. If you can please explain to me why it has to be changed and why it cant just be left alone. Thank you.

Aim Marker set to marker only provides less information than with it on. We're looking to put a bit more difficulty into the Pro swing.

I have a question. Are these settings for the CC test event or the Pro test event?

Aim Marker set to marker only provides less information than with it on. We're looking to put a bit more difficulty into the Pro swing. Is this just for the Platinum test event or both? I believe it’s both Ken. CC settings will be eased by the ability to have lie grid and wind speed on. At least that’s now I’ve understood it.

I just had a quick couple of holes in Special Events. I'm out if we are going with that aiming method in CC. It's not a problem off the tee or fairway but on the greens it is painful. I'm going to be switching between metric and imperial to get an accurate height reading and then counting boxes to get distance. Otherwise it will just be hit and hope. If I wanted that I'd just play True Sim.

Thoroughly enjoyed these settings. Course selection and conditions will be key going forward but this might just be the sweet spot. Being able to focus on the actual golf rather than a fickle tempo mechanic made for a much more authentic experience too.

To be fair I'm very maths based with my putting distance and my distance control is one of my strengths. I usually use Imperial but that has the nearest foot rounding error so I use the indicator to give myself an accurate height measurement in inches by moving it to the hole. I can get that accurate measurement in metric in this trial method but I would then have to go back to imperial to figure out where to place the marker by counting squares. All that wasted time to figure out something the game normally just gives me.

Probably why I never reach the heights and am inconsistent. Having said that I would rather hope we could all find a way to get on board with these settings. TGCT admin have been a massive help to many in dialling the level back to Pro.
