Hello folks, Jim Nance back here at the Cyder Cup bringing you Day 3 action where match one see the Monarch’s Dan ( catcherman22) matched up against Striker Sam ( Riotous) in singles action and let me tell you folks, I think we’re going to have a titanic match before us today Ya-hoo Jim, yousa not goen to introducen mesa? Hi Jar Jar (To producer) - really guys, why is he still here… The opening hole would show just what kind of match this would be as both players registered eagles. The players were flawless as the progressed through the front nine making birdies on every hole and the match remainder AS through 8 holes. Why do daysa callen it a birdie? Why more low score more good? Tup scores win most games nosa? (To producer) - seriously guys, 3 matches is enough… Hole 9 saw the Strikers move out front as Sam kept the birdie train rolling and successfully managed the uphill climb. Dan, not far behind, slightly misjudged the putt and watched it slip just by. The players continued to match each other making birdie on 10 and matching eagles again on 11 before Dan was able to take advantage of Sam’s first par on 12 to pull the match level as the players marched to the 13th Jim, why do all da clubs looked different? Daysa all hit da ball right? (To producer) - what do you mean you signed him on for match 4? He’s only in three movies he should only get three matches…and no, the Clone Wars don’t count… The match shifted into more back and forth action over the closing holes and saw Dan put the Monarchs out in front on 13 with a birdie. Never fear Striker faithful, Sam was able to snap out of his par funk and score a birdie on 14 to pull back even. Dan was able to take advantage of a poor drive by Sam on 15 that found the fairway bunker and nab a birdie. Sam did not back down though, coming through in the clutch for the Strikers with birdies on 16 and 17 to put the Strikers in front as the pair headed to the 18th tee Jim, yousa goen to introducen mesa to yous family? Mesa think daysa would liken mesa as mui as yousa (To Producer) - seriously, if he’s back for round 4 I’m done. I can’t do this anymore Both golfers hit perfect drives landing square in the middle of the fairway. Second shots were true as well with Sam landing 5ft from the hole and Dan landing 7ft out. Needing the putt to have any chance at all, Dan calmly wiped the sweat from his brow and addressed the ball. Sharpie mark pointed directly on his line he hit the putt with so much confidence, he may have hit it too well. Fortunately for the Monarchs, the putt rolled around the rim and dropped shifting the pressure to Sam to keep the full point for the Strikers. The putt barely gets to the cup but slowly drops over the edge securing the full point for the Strikers What an epic match. Incredibly played by both golfers. (Jar Jar chasing a fly in the background) And with that folks we’re signing off from the CC at Castle Pines. I’ll be back for Day 4 action…maybe (To Producer) - seriously, I mean it, if he’s here, I’m out Monarchs 8 Strikers 16

Day 4, Match 6We have a very early result from Day 4 where the Monarch's Herne Bay Hellraiser Paul B sid snott was taking on the Strikers Big D Pat Celtic Wolf and it proved a proper slugfest with Paul twice edging 2 ahead only to be dragged back with a late charge from the Flying Scotsman on 16 and 17. The two prize fighters lined up on the 18th all square and all to play for. Paul hit the green in regulation, Pat was on the fringe and chipped for glory. His chip lipped the cup and settled a foot away. Paul lined up the pressure 20.3 foot putt, tapped it towards it's home and as the crowd held it's breath it trickled in to take the point for the Monarchs. Great game gents. Day 4, Match 3This match pitted two of the new boys together with Ross asyoudo64 appearing for the Monarchs and Darin d2k8888 turning out for the Strikers. They swapped punches throughout with first Darin going 2 up early on, Ross pulled back level with a birdie on the 11th and then proceeded to go 2 up when Darin slipped up on the 15th with a bogie. Ross stood on the 17th tee 2 up and dormie. But there was plenty of fight left in Darin and he birdied the last 2 to Ross' pars to tie the match. Good stuff lads. The entertainers. The 3rd Cyder Cup - Latest from Castle PinesAs we enter the pointy end of the competition here's how things stand as the Strongbow Strikers edge closer to finally lifting The Cyder Cup at the 3rd attempt. They hold a lead of 7 points and just need 4 points to take the trophy. Have they got enough in the tank? Have the Monarchs got a few tricks up their sleeves? Will the Press Corps pay their bar tab? Will anyone pull Paige? Stay turned as the match draws to a conclusion. Onward!!!

Day 1 Match 1 Stepping out on the course at Castle Pines for the Magner Monarchs were Ronny Akesson & Ross Nixon and for the Strongbow Strikers it was Andy Gammons & Mike Georgiades. This was looking like it was going to be a close match . On to the first hole and neither team could gain an advantage, even although every one birdied the hole. The Strongbow pairing took the next two holes and were beginning to look dominant, but the Monarch pairing of Ro-Ro bounced back to win the next couple of holes. The G men had the sixth hole as both teams shared the next two holes. The ninth hole went the way of the Strongbow's Stopping at half way point for a few Cyders to quench the players thirst the Strongbow pair had a two hole lead . The G-men took advantage of the fact that the Magner's had yet to finish their drinks on hole 10. Andy & Mike started to think they had done enough to take the point for the match and were thinking of more ice cold Cyder in the 19th as the next four holes were halved. With the Magner men winning the next two holes, had the Strongbow two taken their feet off the gas a bit to early. With two holes left it could go anyway. Try as they might the Magner's just couldn't do it Strongbow Strikers win 1 up Great call Paul 👍

Day 2 Match 10
Monarchs Ross (The Wizard of Oz) Nixon and Doe (A Deer, a Female Deer) Coba v Strikers One of the Davids (The Bank) Stevenson and Another of the Pauls (The Matchbook) Matchen
Back at the CC at Castle Anthrax, where all the spankings must be had, our intrepid phalanx of golfers, if one can truly consider four to be a phalanx, were already dismayed that Lawrence had stooped to the lowest hanging fruit of jokes (I'm truly sorry, Doe, but it was sitting right there - what was I to do?)
Toppling forth to the first tee, the Men of Magner, Ross and Doe, started off the proceedings on the fairly friendly par 5. Capers were already afoot, literally, and both teams had the same idea of gamesmanship. It seems Paul (The Matchbook) went right to his go-to trick and set up Doe with a quick hot foot, lighting one of his matches and dropping it into Doe's shoe. Doe, ever aware of his surroundings and quick on the uptake, swiped one of Paul's matches and returned the favor. Things quickly deteriorated from there as both participants scrambled for par, while David and Ross engaged in early serious golf, with David's less than surprising opening eagle gave the Monarchs a quick 1 up lead.
Hole 2 saw Ross and Paul getting in on the action. Matching pars by the strengths of either pairing opened the door for one of the secondary clowns to shine. This time, Doe got even by dropping a lit fire cracker into Paul's sagging trousers, causing Paul to badly mis-hit his tee shot, forcing a bogey, to Doe's birdie, leveling the match.
Three little birds on Hole 3 made every little thing be alright, and the match remained square. Bob Marley approved.
Hole 4 was where Doe decided a mass pranking may be the order of business, as in better ball match play, it is not unusual for a team to sacrifice a member for the better of the pairing. The morning of the match, Doe secretly enjoyed a private breakfast of flæskesteg, karbonader, rugbrød, pølser, and topped it all off with a nice serving of rødgrød med fløde, because of course he did. As anyone among us who is familiar with fine Danish cuisine, the results of such a meal is the generation of tremendous amounts of intestinal gas, and this day was no exception. Teeing off first, his belly rumbling like Mt. Vesuvius, Doe took his swing and simultaneously and silently expelled so much gas, that most of the surround bush had withered and died, and all of the airborne creatures of the sky within 100 feet plummeted to the ground, not even knowing what hit them. This left the air on the tee box unable to support life of any kind, and the other three golfers conceded the hole, agreeing to take par to Doe's well earned one stroke birdie. Monarchs 1 up.
Following a meeting of the Geneva Convention between the 4th green and 5th tee, and a visit from the beer girl, at which time Doe rightfully set the group up to a round of Castle of Evergreens' finest brandy as a gesture of apology and goodwill, apologies were begrudgingly accepted, especially by Ross, who struggled to understand why his partner would want to simultaneously blind him and drown him with methane.
This is my subtle way of saying the players all behaved themselves over the next four holes to keep things at 1 up in favor of the Monarchs.
More chicanery as Ross and Doe started playing a little game of "Hey! Look Over There!", which David and Paul had fallen for over and over again, the result of which was Ross and Doe taking advantage of their distracted opposition to gain favorable lies, while giving the boys of blue equally unfavorably lies. In the end, most all of the lies were lies, and very few were truths, which netted Ross and Doe back to back birdies apiece to gain the Monarchs a 3 up advantage after 10.
Three more little birds on Hole 11 made every little thing be alright once more, and once again, Bob Marley approved, Mon.
Ross dipped into his bag of tricks at the start of Hole 13, and palmed a couple of talcum golf balls, taking extra care not to disturb their fragile construct. Four tee shots found the green this time, and things were looking good for the hole to be squared. But Ross wasn't taking chances. He gave Doe a very sneaky little nod, to which Doe started humming the tune to "Do-Re-Mi". Both Paul and David seemed stupefied at this moronic humor, and David lost his cool. "You have got to be kidding me. Name puns? Are you serious?" David, equally flustered, momentarily lost sight of his team's golf balls in the all the kerfuffle, and Ross went to work. He quickly nicked the opposing golf balls and replaced them both with his talcum balls. No one was the wiser, as both Doe and Ross made their somewhat lengthy birdie putts, but when David and Paul went to finish what amounted to tap in birds for them, their balls exploded on contact with the putter head. Puzzled, David asked "What happens now?" Ever the sportsman, Ross declared that while they would each be assessed a stroke, they could both re-hit from the last spot. Not having any reasonable argument, Paul and Dave completed their pars, while Ross and Doe shared a knowing grin, and a 4 up lead with 6 to play.
Not wanting to completely tip their hand just yet, the Men of Red played it close to the vest, allowing the 13th and 14th holes to be played even, while the Men of Blue remained to oblivious to the scam that had befallen them.
It was on the 15th tee that the air suddenly cleared for David. "Hey... I'm a top player in the Brew Crew! How am I down 4 holes with 5 to play? Paul isn't that bad - he's not even the worst Paul in the league! That's..." He was quickly interrupted by an abrupt cough and a firm shaking of the head from his partner. Paul leaned over to the now blushing David and whispered, "careful, partner... he reads these things, and we swore we wouldn’t talk about him behind his back. Hold your tongue." David agreed and returned his focus to the crime at hand. "You guys have been cheating!" Doe was not impressed. "Now, now... those are serious charges, good sir. Can you prove it?"
David could not. There was nothing more to for the Strikers except win the last 5 holes and take the match.
Friends, what happened next defies description, as David Stevenson single handedly won Hole 15 with the lone bird. Doe was so rattled by the display of golf prowess, that he struggled to a double dip, allowing the Blue Boys to climb back to within 3 holes with 4 to play. The air was electric with anticipation, and the Monarchs could feel the victory slipping from their grasp. The comeback of the year was officially underway.
Until Hole 16, which yielded 3 birdies, and just like that, it was over.
Word of the crime quickly reached the southeastern seaboard of the States, and as congratulations were being offered to the victors, a golf cart replete with a flashing red light and high pitched siren sped to the 16th green, sporting a logo for the Miami, Florida Crime Scene Investigation unit. Out popped a smartly dressed man of fair complexion, and fire orange hair, a pair of dark sunglasses dangling loosely in his hand. "Gentlemen, I'm Horatio Caine with the Miami CSI division, and I understand there have been some misdoings here. What exactly happened?" After an hour had passed, and stories had been privately shared to avoid unnecessary collusion, Horatio studied his notes, and cleared his throat. "Fellas... it's quite clear what happened. It appears that..."
"... someone robbed The Bank."
Cue The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again"
Monarchs win 3 & 2
Absolutely brilliant Mark. Laughed all the way through. Cheers mate. Ross (Harry Potter) Nixon. 👍

Day 2 Match 9 Better Ball
David Gee & Patrick Hannigan vs. Ken Wise & Randy Mears
The first four holes on the front nine did not see much action, besides a second hole birdie that sent the monarchs up 1.
On the second half of the front nine, we saw a bit more action as we had the Monarchs win back to back holes (5th and 6th) going three up. The strikers tried to answer back on the eighth with a nice birdie being put up to win the hole, but the Monarchs answered right away on the last hole of the front nine. Monarchs up by 3.
The start of the back nine was about as exciting as the start of the first, with holes 11-14 being halved. But then came the death blow as the Monarchs won back to back holes on the 14th and 15th, solidifying their victory in the process.
It was a pretty even match, up until the very end.
Monarchs win 5&3

Cyder Cup v3.0 Day 4 Match 17
Carol (Menarche) vs CF (Strikeouts)
Welcome to "All In Chess" on ESPN 9, sponsored by Broken Eyeglasses Held Together by Tape and Asthma Inhalers Good evening, folks! I'm Chet McKnight along side my co-host Bret Kingsley, with special commentary by Rook Manley. We come to you from the famous grounds of The Chess Club at Castle Pines for this singles match between Carol Santapaula of Team Menarche and Clarence Floyd "CF" Gibson of Team Strikeout. The coin toss has yielded tails, signifying that Carol will be the white player and will lead off the proceedings. Bret, what is your take on today's competition?
BK: Chet, I have just been informed that we are not, in fact, presenting a chess match, but rather a golf match. This should be quite interesting, as I don't know a single thing about golf. How about you, Rook?
RM: *burp* wut?
BK: thanks, Rook, for your always stimulating input. We'll come back to you later in the broadcast. Chet, it appears that Carol is about to make her first move. Take it away!
CM: thanks, Bret! And we're underway! Carol takes the tee and opens with a classic Ortolani maneuver. Strong play there. CF counters with a Yergason's move, also strong and not at all unexpected. Bret, your take?
BK: that's absolutely right, Chet! Strong open by both players, staying close to the vest, and no surprises at all. We'll score this frame even.
CM: Carol's second move is coming up... oh dear, I'm afraid she's moved her pawn completely off the board. Dreadful luck there. CF counters with a Tinel's fortification, a very strong move, especially in light of Carol's devastating error. CF takes the round to go up by 1. Let's bring in Rook for his impression of this development.
RM: I has to take a piss... *brrrap*
CM: Great stuff as always, Rook! No surprise you were the Pemberton Award winner for player of the year three years running! Bret, bring us the call on the next move, won't you?
BK: Thanks, Chet! CF plays it safe with a Lachman maneuver, which is countered by Carol's equally safe Heberden's ploy, allowing CF to maintain the 1 up lead. But hold on, folks! Carol has pulled out the Froment's slide, blindsiding CF and his Hoover shift, bringing the match back to even after four moves! Folks, this is unprecedented! Rook, how do you see this latest development?
RM: Give us another beer, mate, I'm thirsty from these pretzels... *pffft*
CM: Cracking good assessment, Rook! You're truly one of the best!
(Commercials for alcohol free seltzer, local cookie cutter eatery, motor oil, adult diapers, and feminine hygiene)
Voiceover: due to time constraints, we take you to the match wrap up)
CM: I don't believe what I've just witnessed! Following 10 straight moves of both players moving their kings up one space and back one space, five times in succession, the players traded blows for 4 moves, Carol employing the Hutchinson's Freckle, Lisch Nodule, Garrod's Gambit, and Dawson's Fingers, while CF countered with Harrison's Groove, Winterbottom's Signature, Schamroth's Window, and O'Donaghue's Triad. It was at that moment that both players, exhausted from the match, stared across the board, each giving the other an unusual nod. They then rose from their seats and shook hands, declaring the match to be a draw. Bret, I don't know what to make of all this!
BK: Chet, I am simply stunned, and at a complete loss for words. Never in my years of broadcasting have I seen a match play out like this. One can only hope that Rook can explain what just transpired. Rook?
RM: Piss off! This is stupid - I was told we were calling a football match! I'm out of here!.... (from the distance) Mum! I've soiled myself again!
CM: well that wraps up our coverage of "All In Chess" on ESPN 9, sponsored by Broken Eyeglasses Held Together by Tape and Asthma Inhalers. Stay tuned for upcoming coverage of the "International Grilled Cheese Off" sponsored by Guda and Brie.
Final tally: All Square
