It’s only 30 courses & one of those will be Augusta’s Par 3 which in only a short nine hole. That’s 531 holes of golf within an advanced (compared to Unity) game engine which will all be playable with your friends online. There will be lobbies for the difficulty you choose & most of all you’ll be able to go head to head on any one of those 30 tracks. Professional golfers don’t need to play 100’s of different courses in a season to keep them interested they need competition & that’s something that hasn’t been seen in a golf game for years (unless you look & play in external leagues such as TGC) but even then you’re not experiencing live play. Many things need to be confirmed for EA’s game but if everything is there as it was in TW 14 ( Country clubs etc……HB copied this idea & called it societies btw ) all will be good & course numbers will be a non issue. I still think the best online golf experience I had was PGA 99 and PGA 2000. The online play was so much fun. But In todays society not sure the 2 hour plus rounds I had back in the day would be feasible with a foursome But the banter and the feel really made it like an actual round on the links back in the day . Or as close as you could

There will never be a course designer in any EA game. That is not the way gaming is going micro transactions are the rule. I would bet that if 2k/HB end up upgrading and use a new engine and the current course designer for whatever reason doesn't work with it then you won't see a designer in their games anymore either. I don't understand how anyone would be fine with just 30-40 courses. Don't care how good they are it would get boring very quick. I hope EA brings out a top notch game not expecting it they haven't made a golf game in close to a decade and their other sports offerings are stale at best. The future I see will be new courses designed and then made available for purchase. Holiday bundles of said courses. I'm quite astounded it isn't already this way. I started playing PC golf with Microsoft Golf in 1995 and you got a few stock courses with the main game and then had to buy floppies with 2-3 courses on each.

EA's game is going to have the US Amateur, so that might be how they go about career mode. Not sure about the senior side of things. EA will also have the LPGA in it, according to their website. If they don’t have anything resembling the TGC Tours I won’t be playing it as much. But i still have an interest in the game as i like golf games. TGC Tours and society play keep me coming back. There were actually loads of really good tours in the PC community and competitive online community live match ups ladders like cases ladder also, from Tiger 04 to 08 but we had a CD then and loads of fantastic course to choose from. EA golf games also had proper match up lobbies where you find groups to play the way you like to play, HB's games are pretty naff on that front. I played all the EA console releases after but never played those games online once so not sure how good the online experience.was. Maybe there were tours similar to what we have here.

EA has had DLC courses for some time 2k/HB gets free content provided by users re new courses. Did they announce the price for a stock version of the game and say how many courses you would get for $70? I'm sure the courses are going to look great but we have played most of these for the past decade or more on their games.

I’m all about graphics and next gen. So I’m a 100% buy when this comes out. Really think 2k 23 pga will be less than half or maybe even more than half will leave when this comes out. It’s just how the world goes. This series wasn’t bad at all. But i have the newest systems and a tv that can handle them. Why would I keep on playing out dated graphics? It’s kinda like having a Lamborghini in your drive way just looking at it. I got the gear , going to take that baby out for a spin

Graphics are one thing but if performance is poor it is not a good experience. Minimum 60 FPS should be the benchmark for games. 30 fps just doesn't cut it especially in a sports game.

Hammers……talking about PC performance do you think there is any possibility this upcoming EA golf game will run on the Steam Deck? What are the general issues with EA games ? Can’t they just be bought on Steam store & played on the Deck ?

Hammers……talking about PC performance do you think there is any possibility this upcoming EA golf game will run on the Steam Deck? What are the general issues with EA games ? Can’t they just be bought on Steam store & played on the Deck ? Alot of EA games run fine on the SD. There does seem to be issues with Madden and FIFA though. As EA sell their games in the Steam store you'd think they would make sure it runs well on the SD, though I think Devs have no control over proton and windows game compatibility layers like proton for linux. 2K23 runs really well.though. Valve are bringing official support for dual booting Steam OS and windows soon which will make it more simple, though it isn't actually that difficult to dual boot windows to an SD card, just haven't got round to it yet. I have got game pass streaming up and running and was very surprised that the input lag was really minimal and games were very playable streaming to the handheld. Last time I used it on my desktop I could really notice the input delay.

I for one hope they bring back the TW style games of old. I had fun. My friends had fun. And we played ALOT of golf. These golf club games just aren't what I'm personally looking for. A great arcade mode where hole outs become the goal again. That's what I'm hoping for.

Swing looks good and fluid and I know it's not much to go on, but it looks like a good, realistic outcome of the ball path based in the swing. Looking forward to it!

It'll be garbage....its EA for kfs sake, they just milk your money, also stop treating grown adults like children and just show us the gameplay, im aged 50 and dont need pimping with teaser stuff, they post teaser stuff because they know the game will be useless and they try to suck you in....mcilroy gameplay trailer looked very good...the game was dreadful....can you name a decent EA sports game out there that isn't a cash cow?
I really hope this ea golf game stinks.
