I’ve been a pretty avid virtual golf player since Lee Trevino’s fighting golf back on the Apple IIe. Infact, before I bought this 2k21. Was really enjoying playing Jack Nicklaus golf 6. I’ve created many a course for Jack Nicklaus 6 and Pga Championship golf 2000. Were some many fond memories and many a man hour designing courses back in that era. Fast forward to 2021. Bought my first next gen system. The Xbox series S, along with a 75 inch 4K 120 FPS hdmi 2.1 tv. Really went all out experiencing some mind blowing graphics on my series s. But here comes the bad part of my transition into next gen …Pga 2k21. Not going into all the headaches and such that inexperienced with this title. One can peek at the threads I created here asking for help. Which I received plenty of from this awesome community. And a side note.. never once received one ounce of help from 2k sports or HB studios. A few members messaged me that I need to buy a PlayStation so I can play this title. Or need a wired controller (which I don’t think the series s Xbox even has) . Why do I need to buy a PlayStation or a wired controller to play this game ? Where all the rest of my titles work perfectly with what i currently have? So for an Xbox next gen owner. And an video golf enthusiast. This EA title announcement maybe our only option virtual golf game wise. As I’m pretty sure many an Xbox next gen owner will completely stay clear of any new versions of pga 2k golf. I no longer have this game installed. But I check back here a lot. In the hopes that 2k/HB sports patches the Xbox version of this game . So we can enjoy it like the PlayStation owners. Keeping my fingers crossed that this happens. Or did 2k/HB sports pretty much abandon this game and our focusing on their upcoming Pga title. And this game was working decently before all of these untested Nurf style patches started being rolled out. Maybe they can go back and take away the patches they made for the Xbox. So we can all play the game again that we paid for . I’ve never once had a faulty golf game until this one . I’ve played a few virtual golf games that were beyond my skill level . But never one that wouldn’t even let me make a forward swing . So bring on ea sports golf . May be the only one Xbox players might consider playable on our next gen consoles Whether you have the next generation console (series X), whether you're using a 3rd party controller (Power A, few others where they can be used just fine in society play but wouldn't be acceptable on TGCTours; yup, I know there are people out there on Xbox using these......), moneyman273, are you saying that a 3rd party controller makes the gameplay different on the Series X due to more polling points available as a result of a change in controller? I thought the polling point issue was to do with the Xbox itself? Can you recommend some good 3rd party controllers or point me in the right direction to a thread on TGCT or elsewhere? To be honest I simply enjoy playing the user created courses and not fussed if I play TGC Tours. Based on this I would benefit from trying a 3rd party controller to see if this helps with gameplay. To be honest I'm not as anti-HB/2K as some on this forum and do find the game mostly enjoyable for what it is. Like IRL there's a bit of luck in this game isn't there! Cheers

Just for some balance, I'm an Xbox player who: Still enjoys competing on these tours. And yes, I said competing. Thinks that even with its flaws the game is vastly improved since the nerfs. The red fast swing was by far a worse mechanic than what we have now. Thinks the short game is also better because you're now forced to play proper golf shots. Believes that having an Xbox only TGCTours league goes against everything this was set up to do. Will only play the EA game if it's free. Will undoubtedly be pre ordering the next HB/2K game. So shoot me Short game adjustment was more than acceptable but if you honestly think the Fast/Slow nerf is a job that vastly improved the mechanics I gotta disagree. Yeah I get if you’re competitive & don’t want exploiters beating the honest score that you put up but there’s no authenticity in what HB did. They have the data to record fast or slow swings so if it’s being repeatedly abused put a multiplier in for distance penalties. Don’t remove a consistent distance from a Fast or Slow because players are already exploiting that. It was nothing more than a botch & has shown how basic the mechanics are in this game. They could’ve done so much more but in true HB style it’s bare bones when it comes to support. They also know it’s a hot mess looking at the lack of answers that got given on the games Q&A with Xbox.

Just basing my comment on others who have had these wired controllers and that they allow for much more of a ps4 ease of play, which in many ways, I do NOT want to have. I've just always hoped that the other two platforms would level up with the egregious difficulty level that Xboxers have to experience every version of this game.

It is not about the other platforms being easier it is about the game not playing great with Xbox controllers and my series X is my favourite controller ever on PC . I just don't feel the architecture of the Xbox controller s suit this game. Tempo is challenging on PC with a DS4 on master but man the controller feels so much responsive for this game with a PlayStation controller.

I've just always hoped that the other two platforms would level up with the egregious difficulty level that Xboxers have to experience every version of this game. Back during the TGC2 era I bought a wired Xbox controller (Power A) because I was tired of shelling out $59.99 for new controllers that got worn out on shooter games and such. I honestly had no idea this controller was not an official XB controller even with the XB logos on it nor that it was something that could setoff the API (had no idea what this was either). I bought it strictly because it was alot cheaper. I think I played 2 or 3 events before I got tagged for the fair play stuff and I was beyond shocked given that I was over par in the event I got called out for. Long story short the admins let me know that this was not an official controller and so on. I pulled this out of the cabinet tonight for the first time in years. While I am no controller expert, I can say with with almost 100% certainty that this controller does not offer more polling points. I took about 150-200 swings on the range and when I got a perfect swing was in the same spot every time....the same single location in the white provided to the XB player. The red fasts and slows were pretty much in the same spots as well on my misses. About the only noticeable difference I can see/feel is the sticks on my controller seem to more stiff in moving left/right which felt like they provided a more reliable line through the cone. That is about it. Given that we pretty much have a one spot perfect or bust swing to work with, its taken alot of the thrill out of this game to compete across platforms. We have a much lower ceiling for advancement and its not due to talent, its just a different game and we all know this. Its not TGCTs fault we get the shaft and have for some time now. I really do not even know if its HB's problem to fix either however doing something different with the swing down the road would be of some help. I don't know if is removing the tempo completely and doing something different, revamping it, or making your miss hits a % penalty the further you get out of the grey zones. We'll see what they come up and perhaps it might not be another half-assed release that they overhaul 6 months post release. BTW....if there are any XB players who may have lost some love for cross platform competition but still find some enjoyment playing the game and competing with their own there is a society out there that I heard was pretty good and competitive for all levels. If I remember correctly....it's called Band of Brothers.

I'm sure the more you miss the less distane on shot. I observed this last night where I hit a red fast only JUST mising the grey edge and it still travelled about 250m. Then proceeded to hit a very poor red slow which went all of about 200m to 210m. In theory this is how this "red nerf" penalty should work. I'm just not convinced it's consistent in its application. I still find the game a lot of fun, albeit with many flaws. Aceptance is the key and to try and enjoy the game at the level you find most appealing. Having said that I generally only play solo as new courses are released. I have played a half year in Beer League but not sure I'll do this again next year unless an Xbox specific league as part of the TGC Tour. I play Pro settings and have dabbled with Master. I find Pro more enjoyable and "realistic" as I will consistently shoot anywhere between +5 to -8 depending on difficulty of course and course and round settings, i.e. green speed & firmness, fairway firmness and wind. Wind being the biggest factor in determing variability in scoring for me.

I think like most on here who try to play the Tours on Xbox ( actually I don't anymore ) I will certainly be trying the new EA game, but only after seeing reviews from Xbox players.
HB clearly have no interest in Xbox, not in this game or the last, which was worse in my opinion. I now play a bit in a society called ' Pandora Legends' which is legend difficulty with swing timing off, and I've just joined 'Band of Brothers'. TGC Tours, which I've loved playing, no longer holds any joy for me. I made Kinetic but the swing updates made playing there impossible - though I was thoroughly bored with red fasts anyway.
So, 2019 and the present game both not Xbox friendly, I really don't hold out much hope for the next one, unless the swing is totally revamped and tempo is not the be all and end all. My hope is the EA game is great and I can forget completely about HB/2K's mess of a game.

EA's game will have TPC Southwind, Wilmington Country Club, and East Lake in their game, so all 2022 FedExCup Playoff events will be included: The Korn Ferry Tour will also be in the game. And EA will be the first to include ShotLink data and TrackMan info into a golf game: www.operationsports.com/ea-sports-pga-tour-adds-fedex-cup-playoff-and-events-will-be-implemented-in-career-mode/Here's the updated course list: Augusta National Golf Club Pebble Beach Golf Links Southern Hills Country Club Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s Ocean Course Torrey Pines The Country Club in Brookline, Mass The Old Course at St Andrews Links Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-les-Bains, France TPC Southwind Wilmington Country Club East Lake Golf Club
