I can't wait....Only thing worth a sh!t on 2k21 is the course designer. Spot-on. My choice when both games are available will ultimately come down to the swing. I don't mind hitting poor shots, as long as I can see and understand what I've done wrong. With 2k21, I'm just left scratching head. And no matter how or what adjustments I make, has no positive effect. 2k21 is not a simulation, simply because the swing basically has to be played the same way by every player. It doesn't allow a player full control over whatever shot he wants to play, unlike TGC1 allowed. Basically, I want to enjoy a round of golf. I want a golf game that makes me want to come back for more. One round on 2k21 and I've had enough. And you think playing Augusta and Pebble over and over again will offer more replay value? What makes 2k21 so great are the community designed courses. You can dial the difficulty to any which way you like. You don't have to play on Master settings.

I agree with what your saying regarding 2k21 as a whole, is a great game. The community, the vast amount courses available, and of course TGCTours which is superb. But ultimately, it comes down to how much I enjoy playing the game. During TGC1 days I enjoyed every minute playing the on-line tours. Everyone played with the same swing, same clubs. We were all on a level par whatever flight you were in, because the swing allowed for this. The skill in TGC1 was about calculating for wind, roll-out, taking the slopes and green speeds into consideration, just like you do now, only you never had a bad swing forced on you to screw everything up. You either hit a good shot or you didn't, but at least you could see what you did wrong. Even playing 2k21 with the tempo turned off it still doesn't feel right.

The skill in TGC1 was no grid putting, the only part of the game that resembled golf. The long game was just maths to figure out roll out on concrete firm greens. No timing needed in the swing and so easy to hit dead straight If the game didn't have so many great courses I doubt I would of played it for very long.

Funny enough, during TGC1 days I actually contacted HB, and suggested a change in the grid. Rather than no grid, have a grid, but with the grid lines more spaced out that just followed the contours of the green but had no moving beads on it. This would make greens difficult to read and a bit more realistic than having no grid where it was very difficult to interpreted slopes, unless they were really visible. I still don't know why they haven't adopted this idea.

If the new game is on PC, I will certainly purchase it and try it out. From what I have read on the thread it is not expected for PC? I won't buy a console to access the EA golf game.

I played a few societies that had Pro Settings and that is sooooooo much easier. I think I had just one bad tempo shot in the entire 36 holes I played. And I have a feeling Pro settings will be used for The CC tiers of the TGC Tours for the new season and then if you get promoted to the Pro’s then you have to obviously play master settings.....Unless they tweak it to make the tempo a little easier on Master settings which I feel they should anyway. Just dial it back some......and take the splash away but for only the bunkers....

I believe they said it’s next gen only. So only PS5 and Series X if true. The quote from the site is Next Gen Platforms, That pretty much means that its not coming to the PS4/Xbox One. I would be very surprised if they didnt release it on PC, especially when they mention it has a 3 click swing, which is a very pc control method. Also they say platforms, not consoles, so thats another clue that it isn't being locked to just the consoles. We'll see. www.ea.com/games/pga-tour?setLocale=en-us#faqI'll be picking it up for sure if it hits PC. I doubt we'll see another tgc/2k game until August next year now. (all hb and 2k golf games have come out in the month of August) EAs is dropping in march/april. So yeah, i'll play that for a few months until the next 2k game drops. Unless 2k does some huge refresh then i'll be pretty burnt out on it by March/April. The more golf the better imo.

I wonder if the owners of tgc tours will have a similar tour format for the ea game?Im pretty sure I will be all in on the new ea game.Almost a no brainer really, since the Xbox version is a real joke.

Seen a lot of streams this weekend of Generation Nine consoles running the new Battlefield game & it’s left me a bit disappointed to be honest. Still a lot of pop in & FPS issues similar to the Rory game. Got my fingers crossed this is because these streams are early code but we’ll have to wait & see. All the assets that would be utilised in a Golf sim do look fantastic compared to anything else out there at the moment.

Everyone keeps on saying “but tgc has a course designer”.And we have thousands of courses available to us.This may be true. But most/if not all the user made courses tend to look the same. The library of items for building a course is woefully small. And I never get that feeling of each course feeling unique in its own way.I’m thinking that ea will really utilize next gen graphics and have a uniqueness to each and every venue. And is they do have a course designer,,,… than 2k/hb sports will be truly screwed

I spend a fair amount of time looking at the course design contest threads in these forums as well as a couple subreddits where people post their courses and I have found a very wide variety of course styles to play. If the next TGC game doesn't have the course designer or it's only available on PS5, I'll happily continue playing this version for as long as 2K keeps the server on so we have access to the courses. (Yes, I crossed my fingers as I typed that.)

Because there are limited themes, limited assets/objects, and such, there does tend to get to be a sense of repetition after a while. It's not enough to make me say that the course creator produces courses that all look the same, but I do admit that I am kind of over the sheer number of Bandon Dunes-type courses that have been released for 2K21. 2K21 took a decent step in the right direction, allowing all assets and objects to be used in every theme. But they really need to take the next step in their next game and give lots more objects and assets to use.

I have recently purchase a brand new LG 4K TV and moved My Vizio 4K to the living room. The game looks like complete trash no matter what I do. Really frustrated right now. I do like how the gameplay is easier but goodness this game looks like a throwback to the 90's. There was one day last week where it looked great but the next day and since awful. So, if it stays like this I will be looking at the next EA game.
