most/if not all the user made courses tend to look the same. The library of items for building a course is woefully small. And I never get that feeling of each course feeling unique in its own way. Absolute worst take I have ever seen. Seems like you just don't know what to look for in a golf course

For me, I think there is variety in the course styles...to a point. Because there are limited themes, limited assets/objects, and such, there does tend to get to be a sense of repetition after a while. It's not enough to make me say that the course creator produces courses that all look the same, but I do admit that I am kind of over the sheer number of Bandon Dunes-type courses that have been released for 2K21. 2K21 took a decent step in the right direction, allowing all assets and objects to be used in every theme. But they really need to take the next step in their next game and give lots more objects and assets to use. I've recently purchased the Series S, and I am amazed at how awful the graphics are. I have recently purchase a brand new LG 4K TV and moved My Vizio 4K to the living room. The game looks like complete trash no matter what I do. Really frustrated right now. I do like how the gameplay is easier but goodness this game looks like a throwback to the 90's. There was one day last week where it looked great but the next day and since awful. So, if it stays like this I will be looking at the next EA game. If it looked great one week and now it looks like trash now surely there is something up with your system and TV calibration. The game looks great on PC with graphics settings maxed at 3440p x 1440p ultrawide and I would say it is a much better looking game than TGC 2019 or any golf game released till now.

It looks downright horrible on my brand new 4 day old TV LG 4K and the last one i moved to living room. IMO it's the xbox curse glitch. Like the guy who can't get a downswing ( gunslinger1972 ). I been dealing with bad graphics for better tempo but damn the game looked great on xbox1x.

So it is more than a resolution downgrade then on Series S ?, because 2K upscaled should not be that inferior to native 4k. To be honest the game looks miles better on PC on my monitor than the PS4 Pro version on my Samsung 4K TV.

Some aspects of the game are 4K but there are many assets in the course designer that are clearly not & bring the overall image down. If you sit close it will be an issue for sure so either use a smaller display or sit further away. AAA titles all look great but they are all running superior game engines to Unity.

Absolute worst take I have ever seen. Seems like you just don't know what to look for in a golf course Some of us have vested a lot of time (maybe more then you)in this. And know what we are talking about. Please stop defending this game.Your buying into 2k’s little web of lies.No matter how much you try making it look pretty.A turd 💩 is still a turd 💩

Maybe someone has a gun to your head forcing you to play the game. As hard as it is for you to believe but people have different opinions of the game and spend their time playing the game because they actually enjoy it Back to the subject of how great EA's new golf game is going to be and how we are all going to be content with it's amazing 16 courses, I gave their last game about 4 hours of my time to realise it was a pile of turd💩

Are your guys fingers exhausted yet? I would take stop playing the game, and posting on a forum for a game I do not like for a community I may or may not be participating in anymore over carpel tunnel anyday...Can you just leave so we can all move on with our lives? Go find an EA forum, grab your tissues and jergens and stop harassing people who actually find this game still enjoyable.

This is a new low. You are new to this community, I get it. But it's not a great look to go around shoving your unpopular opinion down the throats of people who have been here for years, because we don't care. I just wanted to point out to you that you might have to think about it a little more, as you really are just being viewed as another hater. That's fine, if you want to be the hater of the community, a community of people who really love the video game and have been playing this series for up to 7 years, I'm not stopping you. But nobody takes you seriously. You joined the forum this summer. Some of us have been around a lot longer than you. Please don't act like you are an expert.

Just to give some other perspective as someone who's more excited for the EA Game than HB's next release...
So the course creator seems to be the big one. I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I wouldn't mind at all having a set number of courses. My reasoning here is that I play 90% of my rounds True Sim - the others are just the TGC Elite rounds and some xbox societies - and playing on True Sim you kind of have to know the course or there's a massive element of luck involved in terms of bounces on the green, leaving yourself with a flat putt etc. So, in this regard at least, I'd be happy with no course creator and a decent amount of well-crafted real courses. I seen someone mentioned 16 above and that's maybe too low I agree, but give me 30 with weekly events, different wind conditions, different course conditions and I'd be delighted with that in terms of variety and getting to know them. I play racing sims as well and it's a similar kind of story; set amount of tracks you learn, and how they are under different conditions is much preferable to having a wealth of user-made tracks. In my opinion at least.
Sort of relatedly then, I also like playing true sim on real courses because I'm kind of a golf nerd. And most user-created courses just aren't catered to this style of play (most, not all of course) instead they're more geared towards making scoring tough when playing under standard TGC settings which I get obviously, but personally, it's not for me. On this note, I have lost some motivation to play TST since they started gong down the road of non-rcr's on there. Again, I get it, most people prefer that but I'd far rather play RCR's or certainly grounded user created courses. Two of my favourites on TS were Sussex Downs and Helsinki GC just to give examples.
Then there's the Xbox issue. So basically anything above 7 iron in the game I have a perfect and one usable miss (grey slow) because of the polling points on this platform. I don't really care about what tour I'm in or need to win or anything, but the issue for me is that playing famous courses becomes a bit of a farce; A poor drive is 40 yards short of any danger, a poor tempo iron shot is 20 yards short of greenside bunkers etc. It's either perfect or stupid, with no, or few, realistic misses. Now, I really like playing the game and I do well but in terms of realism and playing famous courses as intended the game has definitely lost something there. And on the realism side of things not having a punch shot still rankles with me, as well as the concrete greens.
I agree Rory was an absolute hot mess of a game but I *think* it was TW14 (I might be mistaken but it was around that era) that had the best true sim mode of any golf game I've played (shout out to Links 2003 as an amazing game though!), scoring was tough, the mechanics were fair and the engine was, imo, for it's time, fantastic! In fact I would say it was a much more difficult and realistic experience than playing True Sim on this game to be honest.
But yeah, sorry for the essay lol just giving a different opinion on why some people might be excited for EA getting back in the golf arena. Let's be honest it could be absolutely terrible but, as much as I love this game and series, there are definitely flaws there in my opinion that EA would certainly do well to look at and build on. And, at the end of the day, if the mechanics work perfectly on Xbox it'll be reason enough for me to jump ship for sure!
P.S I only joined here in the summer too but I've been playing since TGC2 released fwiw lol

It was enjoyable to play. Except you could never find a live match with anyone.

after the last rubbish EA served up no pre order for me TBH i am looking forward to next 2k21 game more I feel completely the opposite. There will be no "pre-order" with me on either game but I'm certainly going to look at what EA offers after HB/2K have destroyed this current game for Xbox users.

I’ve been a pretty avid virtual golf player since Lee Trevino’s fighting golf back on the Apple IIe. Infact, before I bought this 2k21. Was really enjoying playing Jack Nicklaus golf 6. I’ve created many a course for Jack Nicklaus 6 and Pga Championship golf 2000. Were some many fond memories and many a man hour designing courses back in that era.
Fast forward to 2021. Bought my first next gen system. The Xbox series S, along with a 75 inch 4K 120 FPS hdmi 2.1 tv. Really went all out experiencing some mind blowing graphics on my series s.
But here comes the bad part of my transition into next gen …Pga 2k21. Not going into all the headaches and such that inexperienced with this title. One can peek at the threads I created here asking for help. Which I received plenty of from this awesome community. And a side note.. never once received one ounce of help from 2k sports or HB studios. A few members messaged me that I need to buy a PlayStation so I can play this title. Or need a wired controller (which I don’t think the series s Xbox even has) . Why do I need to buy a PlayStation or a wired controller to play this game ? Where all the rest of my titles work perfectly with what i currently have? So for an Xbox next gen owner. And an video golf enthusiast. This EA title announcement maybe our only option virtual golf game wise. As I’m pretty sure many an Xbox next gen owner will completely stay clear of any new versions of pga 2k golf. I no longer have this game installed. But I check back here a lot. In the hopes that 2k/HB sports patches the Xbox version of this game . So we can enjoy it like the PlayStation owners. Keeping my fingers crossed that this happens. Or did 2k/HB sports pretty much abandon this game and our focusing on their upcoming Pga title. And this game was working decently before all of these untested Nurf style patches started being rolled out. Maybe they can go back and take away the patches they made for the Xbox. So we can all play the game again that we paid for . I’ve never once had a faulty golf game until this one . I’ve played a few virtual golf games that were beyond my skill level . But never one that wouldn’t even let me make a forward swing . So bring on ea sports golf . May be the only one Xbox players might consider playable on our next gen consoles
