I have been playing the beta version for a month now on my Series X. I'm not much of a baseball fan IRL until the playoffs come, but this game is so well produced and presented that it takes that minimal amount of interest and turns it into a passion for the video game. I've been playing The Show 2014 on the PS4 up until about a year ago. I'll say this, if I'm as juiced over this game with the standard version I'm playing now on my Series X, I can't imagine how pumped I'll be over the Series X enhanced version at 60 FPS! It's the highest quality team sports game I've ever played... PERIOD! I'm a Ultimate Game Pass subscriber so I should be able to get the game free on launch day as part of that package. What I've failed to look at though is whether that Game Pass availability applies to the Series X/S enhanced version or not? I better start doing some investigating... anyone know for sure about this?? All versions are included in the Game Pass offering JC/ Explained here,
The Early Access I mentioned is explained here,

Unless you are going to be a Diamond Dynasty player, the standard version should be more than enough.

Unless you are going to be a Diamond Dynasty player, the standard version should be more than enough. That's the way I look at it, not really in to the DD thing myself. Looking forward to a season & if there's time (not likely) I used to dig the RTTS thing back in the PS2 days. The fact that there is cross platform could be a blast too hooking up with a few of ya from here for a golf break would be cool! We'll see how the whole cross platform thing fleshes out. |

I checked all that out Kerry and it answered all my questions and stoked my interest level to new heights. I also found a gameplay video showing the Series X optimized version at 4K/60 FPS.... dayum it looked great! When I was playing MLB The Show 2014 on my PS4, I would play half a season using the current lineup of my favorite team (the Braves). All these other road to the show and diamond dynasty modes simply go beyond my appetite for what I want out of a baseball game. I'm glad it's there for those who are fans of it though! |

I'm also looking primarily forward to a season with the Dodgers (ok ok, quit throwin' the tomatoes guys,lol) so maybe once we're all tune in & up we can spark up an mp game Dodgers vs Braves, sparks memories of some classic matchups from years past! Gotcha' on the friends list so just let me know John.

Speaking of which, just won the 2030 World Series in 6 games vs Detroit. Told my agent in the off season window that I’m not ready to retire yet. I want to get that cheater Barry Bonds off the record book for career HRs (it lists him as “San Francisco Giants” instead of by name but we all know who that is). I’m 53 dingers shy of taking him down. I hit 52 in 2030. It gave me a choice to focus on different categories for maintaining skills. I chose power. That caused my contact and plate vision to degrade substantially to the low to mid 70’s. Hopefully I don’t get injured and miss any significant time. |

So trying to gen myself up on Baseball because this sounds a lot of fun. Have adopted Pittsburgh Pirates as they don't seem to have won anything for years and I figured they could do with the help. Watched my newly adopted team beat the Brewers 6-1 so good start. Found a lot of the terminology/stats a bit confusing but I expect the game will also help me out in that direction. Watched a few YouTube video's and looking like there's a casual option so I'll be able to work my way into the game. Will be following you experts thoughts with interest. Finally a use for my XBox because you wouldn't want to play pixel golf on it!!  |

As far as I know my preorder will unlock at 9pm pst at least that's what it's been in the past. Haven't had a chance to look today yet but I'm sure it'd just give me a "you'll have to wait a bit longer" page on the Xbox.
However a friend who ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition (still scratchin' my head as to why I didn't) to gain early access messaged me over the weekend with this comment, "just amazing, this game is so polished HB just take note!" Of course Sony Studios has been at it for years but the bottom line is they continue to improve the product year after after. He'd mentioned the last he'd played The Show was 2013 or 14 I think on a PS3, nevertheless he's thrilled!
Now he is on the Xbox One X so I'm salivating even more to see & feel how it'll play on the Series X!
Gonna' be a loooong night tonight!
