Welcome to week 20 on the elite tour. This week we are at a unique project of a course because it has two sister courses on the same plot. It started as a b101 project when Ben initially built the entire plot and barranca you see running through it, and then passed the file over to gamesdecent . That led to two great courses in Ben's Montellago and Petty's The Pastimes Club. This week we are at PithyDoctorG 's iteration Santa Ynez Valley Club. So if you feel some deja vu meandering around the plot, just know you aren't going crazy, you have might have played a round or two on this same set of land before. Dan's is a real challenge, and like the other two, draws heavily from Pasatiempo and other California courses. Wanted to give a quick welcome to our newest members up from Kinetic: mitchbigsby (PC), @easykey92 (ps4), indaho (ps4), buldawg00072 (ps4), Tuffguts (pc) If I missed your name, apologies, but be sure to let us know you are here and feel free to promote your twitch or youtube streams of your weekly rounds. Good luck everyone!

Nice course, horrible first round. I played one practice round, thought I had a chance to play well here. That didn't pan out in R1 at least. Birdied the easy first hole, the two bogeys in a row had me scrambling. Thought I was getting it back together on 6 through 8 with three birdies, but then bogeyed 10 and 11. Birdied 12 and should have had a short birdie putt on 13, but this happened:
I managed to get up an down for par there and another three birdies in a row after that, but couldn't birdie 17 en route to poor 67.
Much better in R2 with a 62, but I'm doubtful that my -13 through 2 will make the cut. I'm guessing it will take -15 or -16.

Thanks for the welcome jwtexan . Fighting my way back toward my old TGC19 tours. After a -12 practice round on Saturday (before my promotion was confirmed), was definitely feeling the pressure when I teed it up. Absolutely nothing was dropping in first 27 holes (-7), then hit a purple patch on the back 9 in Rd2 and got it to -14 at the cut. Prob borderline but happy find a bit of form. Kept it going in Rd3 and -7 on the front 9 incl an ace on the 9th. Then back to more frustration with the odd flash of brilliance to get to -30 at the final whistle. Not expecting many chances at green so will be happy just to keep my head above water for now. Cheers

Fun course where the elevation can catch you out at times but would expect some people to post some really low scores. After missing the cut by 1 last week I'll take my -18 at the cut every day of the week. Although I did lip out for albatross and missed an ace by a matter of inches, but you always have to find something to complain about right??

played my first 2 rounds Saturday night/Sunday morning after consuming 2 bottles of red wine and I can say without hesitation that that was not a good idea 😂😂 +1 -1 for double demo marks I would imagine

Only got to -11 at the cut. Doubtful that is enough, but damn that was a fun course. So many really fun shots to think about and execute. I actually struck the ball really well, found a ton of fairways and greens, I just couldn’t convert many putts. Oh well, at least avoided another demo mark and had a blast on the course, great work Doc!

weak -5 followed by a slightly less weak -7 to be at -12 at the turn. Surely my first missed cut up here.

Really enjoyed this course. Could be because my very first approach was an albatross on hole 1. But the rest of my first two rounds were about on par with what I've been able to do the last few weeks. -9 and -8 for a -17 at the cut. Hopefully it gets me to the next set of rounds.

Good luck everyone! Absolutely loved my first two rounds here, I've only recently switched to PC from PS4 and was already with 2 demo marks and I'm about 3 shots a round worse on PC! That said, I was quite happy to shoot -10 at the cut and whilst it won't see me through to the weekend I'll keep practicing in the hope I can stick around a bit longer. Especially if we keep playing courses like this!

I'm only a few demo marks away from Kinetic though so might not get to play your ghost much here!

Excellent course on a fantastic plot. Pastimes was one of my favourites from 2019. Montellago I'm pretty sure I played, but I need to fire that one up again. Pastimes being a very tough act to follow.
Anyway, I think this is my 5th Elite event (missed a few) and I still haven't made a cut! However I've also managed to avoid any demos, so not all bad I guess.
Played decently for a first round bogeyless -7. Which has to be my best R1 effort so far in Elite I'd guess.
Can I finally make a cut? Stay tuned.
(4/1 in the bookies currently)

-14 after 2 with 4 bogeys. With the calm conditions that is gonna be close to the cutline.

R2 started badly. Just a par on the par 5 1st followed by my first bogey of the event on the 2nd. Uh oh.
Rallied strongly to finish with an -8 and -15 total through 2. Driver let me down today (38.5%...yikes) but the putter was in tune for the most part (22 compared to 29 in R1).
Looks like I'm gonna make a cut at last.

FWIW....I decided about a couple weeks back to start playing the game without the distance/elevation aim marker on so I could enjoy the nice courses with a completely unspoiled view. Glad I did. Tbh I think I'm playing better without it. More focused. I only very very occasionally turn it back on for very long or particularly tricky putts, but that's it.

To clarify, as someone pm'ed me about it misunderstanding. Post (edited with 'aim' word added) refers to the actual aim marker, not the silly flagstick marker, which I turned off day 1. Be curious how many play with this off...
