Heavily influenced by Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, CA, this par 72, 6954-yard course winds through rolling hills and features holes over, along, and around a barranca that cuts through the middle of the property. The dramatic landscape lends itself to heavily undulating fairways, wild greens, and lots of strategic shotmaking. Special thanks to b101 for making the plot that inspired me enough to route and surface all 18 holes in about ten hours, and also for lending a hand in playtesting and offering suggestions on a couple of the holes that needed some tweaking. At the default green firmness, greens can be maxed out to 187, above default green firmness, you're on your own. There are a lot of pins that are meant to punish shots left above the hole, or that may require some shaping to get in close. I think this course plays best with a medium wind, and this is definitely aimed more at the Euro/PGA level, with a good mix of scoreable and not-so-scoreable holes. Hopefully everyone can find something to enjoy on this one, I think it's far and away my most fun to play course yet. As always, happy to hear what you guys think, good or bad.

Pasatiempetty? Yes please.
Favorite holes are probably 10-11 and 15-16, but the whole thing is just excellent.
The routing is crazy good and you can tell this one is special right away

You nailed this. It's not an easy plot to work on (the fact that I'm on my fourth routing attests to that) and the elevation change is done masterfully. Huge fan of 1, 8, 10, that short four with the really uphill pitch in (I think 14), 16, 18 and many others I'll have forgotten to mention. One day I'll get my version done and I'll genuinely be delighted if it's even close to as good as this.

This course was absolutely gorgeous! I cranked the firmness and speeds up to maximum and played with pro clubs, and loved how much I had to think through my approach shots. It was very difficult to shoot under par, and that's exactly what I enjoyed about it. Great job!

Lets see what this dogtrack has to offer: I shall return with some words shortly... 7:28 pm Friday... Getting a dip of copenhagen and to the first tee I go in my wife beater and crocs...
EDIT: 7:49pm
Now THIS is a golf course.... Absolutely gorgeous creation, the plot was outstanding and the routing and the sight lines throughout were absolutely stunning..
I hit a shot over toward the back of the pin on hole 6, when my putt came up the view back across this plot was breathe taking... It was like I was really standing there.. thats what makes it so special to me
Boys this is a winner right here, the lighting I loved with the overcast skies giving the planting a dark overall look that just fit the views and this course perfectly...
Outstanding work fellas, instant fav and a 5 star....One of my favorites released in a while....

Now I will say that I won't be the majority opinion but my tastes aren't usually those of the majority... THIS is ya'll's best work by a country mile. Plot and course both. I saw absolutely nothing that I would change. Nada. The flow was marvelous. The hole variance, slopes...all of it fit together just perfectly. Sure you could take a hole here or there and tweak it and it might be slightly better as an individual hole...but that's not the point of great design in my opinion. If you changed any of these holes they wouldn't fit together so wonderfully. THAT is how to make a great course. Five stars from me is not a normal thing (Yeah I'm that four star idiot you all hate). Didn't have to think twice. I'll be back. My 63 in high winds should have been a 59 and I'm mad about it. HA!

This is the one comment I’ve been hoping to get after 2 years and however many courses I’ve designed. Glad to hear you enjoyed it, and hope you make it back out for that 59. Ben won’t admit it but the plot is what makes this course. I don’t even know why he agreed to give it to me, I just remember watching him make it on stream and telling him I needed to route a course on it.

grovey31 playthroughPretty much saw what I was trying to accomplish, other than the fact he played it with pro clubs from the tips and complained about some of the approach views .

grovey31 playthroughPretty much saw what I was trying to accomplish, other than the fact he played it with pro clubs from the tips and complained about some of the approach views . Haha fair point sir! And this will sound dumb but I honestly didn’t even put that together! Kind of embarrassing. I will do another playthrough from one set up and see how it goes. In the meantime, here is my summary: First hole is a stunner. The view from the tee is for a mile and tracks all the way up the hill in the background. Love a good left to right hole on land then goes right to left. Really impressed with how the centerline bunkers were used to dictate strategy off of the tee. They were usually in the place where you want to hit the ball so it forces you to get as close as possible to them for the best approach in. So many awesome views around the course and I’m a sucker for being able to see multiple holes from the hole you’re on. It’s done exceptionally well here. I was really impressed with the use of lame movement, elevation, and textures. Adding the very cool and soft lighting and you have an awesome environment. The par threes were great withbgreat greens. The second par three (I think) was my favorite. Awesome green setting. The par fives were superb. The first one being my favorite. And the 18th... come on, one of the best views on the course and a phenomenal finisher. Strong Cal Club vibes on this one. I’m off to play round 3 now from the pro club tee box!

Finally got around to playing this one and I really enjoyed it. I really like the overcast skies and the darkish planting. It creates such a relaxing atmosphere. Hole design was also top notch. This one and Te Arai are some of my go to courses to relax after a hard day at work. Great job, awesome course.

Most real feeling non-RCR I have played on this game to date. Absolutely nailed the feel of high quality private course. All holes were excellent especially the uphill ones which are really difficult to pull off without feeling forced. Congrats on a job well done 5 stars
