Just as it was looking like a sacking for Jose it just shows how fickle the fans are as you can here the chants coming from the away stand (or if your on sky sports main even crowd sound effects) Jose...he’s one of our own...Jose Mourhino...he’s one of our own!! It was a very hard fought affair this game and East Fife didn’t make it easy for the traveling team and very tight at the end.
Round 4 -4

After witnessing the real-life Brewers get trounced this morning, the pixel golf BAFC squad took it upon itself to give all Burtonians something to get pumped up about! With a 2-0 lead at the break and 3 points within reach, the boys from Burton continued their onslaught of the Ajax goal and took down the class of the Dutch Eredivisie 3-1. The first-ever Champions League fixture at The Pirelli Stadium was one for the history books. Round 3: -14 (58) Round 4: -6 (66)

Week Four - Round-up
After the qualification stage teams were pitted against similar level teams and it showed in the matches. There were no blow-out 4-0 wins, even the imperious Hammers only won 3-0. I was hoping for some tight matches as we got going and it seems to have worked out that way.
Covid Champions League.
In Group A, West Ham lead Burton on goal difference after both won their opening fixtures. Ajax will try to bounce back at home to the Hammers whilst Villa host a Midlands derby against Burton. The League has received early notification of running repairs at Villa Park. Hopefully the laptop will be back from the menders in time to play next week but there is a contingency plan in place should this not be possible. Like the Tokyo Olympics we will give as much time as possible to try to let this resolve itself.
Group B sees Cassino Calcio at the head of affairs after they scraped past Man United. Orlando Pirates and Liverpool could not be separated but will be looking for wins next week. Soweto's finest travel to Italy whilst we can expect the usual low-key affair as United travel to Anfield. Everybody gets on swimmingly there and rarely any controversy in their meetings - NOT!
Lockdown Cup
Celtic and Tranmere drew the tightest match of the week (don't go making up your own jokes, just because there was a Scottish team involved). Spurs lead the way in Group A after seeing off East Fife. The Methil Milan will try for a better result at Prenton Park next week whilst Celtic face a trip to London.
In Group B, Bristol City and Herne Bay were both on the wrong end of 3-1 scorelines. This sees Coventry City heading F91 Diddeleng by virtue of starting with the letter C. AZ Alkmaar might be popular next season. The Kent part-timers have trip across the Channel to Luxembourg whilst the Robins are waiting for an email to tell them which Council pitch Coventry have managed to hire for their visit. They might have to do the dog dirt sweep before kickoff and check for discarded syringes.
Thanks for the prompt playing and reporting and best of luck around Cherrywood

Herne Bays manager might not of been able to travel over to Luxembourg, but he will be cleared by the afternoon as he will be getting his Covid jab in a bit. Time to stock up on the duty free on the way back after a bit of site seeing.

Round One
I have to ask myself sometimes, why on earth do you bother? I just hate 144 greens, so many putts just drifting past the edge or coming up just short. Pretty clean play otherwise, maybe not getting as close as I would like but not dreadful. All in all East Fife got off to a very sluggish start of 68 (-4) and as a consequence will no doubt be struggling to make the cut again this week

After some intense negotiation with the Manager of Coventry City Council's Parks & Recreation we managed to secure Pitch No. 7 in Memorial Park which is the one closest to the changing rooms and cafe. Will be a real treat for the Brizzle boys coming up from the sticks. There is even mains water and heating. Something they're probably not used to.
On the pitch it was a very hesitant first half from the Sky Blues with few opportunities and a fair few close shaves. Expecting next season's sponsor to be Gillette.
Round 1 69 (-3) Round 2 66 (-6)

Round 2 Working on the premise that it wouldn't really matter anyway I went back for more punishment. Got on better with the faster greens and generally had a happier time of it. Still not even in the same postcode as how I can play but it looks as though it might be enough to avoid a demo mark, maybe, possibly, probably not. 66 (-6) shouldn't really give too much trouble to thetaffman and his Wirral Wonders.

On a side note I had a chat this week with the gnarly but wise old Manager of East Fife. He gave me some good advice which I passed on to my players.
True to form, McFadzean failed to take that advice, and ended up with an early bath.
Some players never learn....

West Ham v Ajax West Ham came away from this one wishing the real Michael Antonio had turned up (ie who could finish good approach play up in the penalty area (on the greens)), rather than the one who was pretending to be Seb Haller (ie misses a bunch of sitters) If there is ever a good week to have played against me, this would be it Frans

Don’t know what to think... happy, scared (because I’ll surely mess it up), thankful (if I get lucky) or... I’ll play a few rounds later and make up my mind! 😉

Okay, I’ll admit it; Ajax got a bit carried away in the first 20 minutes against West Ham, seeing them miss a few easy chances... rob4590Round 1: -16 (56)

And as was to be expected after all that, the Ajax players were exhausted with half-time closing in on them too slowly; ten Hag threw in Brobbey, but as we all know, he’s useless. He actually managed to turn a decent chance into an own goal by hitting the post soooo hard that it bounced back all the way into the Ajax goal... 😂😂😂😂
Round 2: -7 (65)

At half-time, a package arrived; apparently from Onana with some weird note saying these were from his wife...
Anyway, ten Hag told all players to just throw them in their tea and hope for the best.
Round 3: -11 (61) not CAS-proof but hey... 😉
