With 2-0 at half-time, that’s mean, Hans... 😂

Welcome Sports Fans Liverpool came out of the sheds, or should I say, stumbled out! They did not have a good start and Orlando scored with a play against the tide by the lone striker, Deon Kavendji. (-5) This spurred the reds to play a little better late in the first half. After a clinical pass by Milner, Salah rounded the keeper and slotted one in. (-5) 1-1 half time In the second half, Orlando played like a team possessed, it was like the felt threatened by something. Their passing was clinical which resulted in a great cross by Fortune Makaringe and was headed home by Vincent Pule. (-1) Being 2-1 down with minutes to go, Liverpool piled on the pressure and relentlessly peppered the Pirates goal. In the 93rd minute Sadio Mane latched on to a pinpoint pass from Henderson and fired a screamer in to the top right corner of the net. (-10) At the end of regulation time, Liverpool managed to rescue a draw.... but where do we go from here??

Week Four - Half time around the grounds
As we move into the two-tier competition things do seem to be getting a little tighter in terms of competitive fixtures.
Covid Champions League
Aston Villa have got lost on the way to the Boleyn Ground but face a tough fixture against the consistent Hammers
Despite their best efforts at mind games, Ajax trail 2-0 at Burton and will need one of their, now legendary second half comebacks to salvage something from the game
Group B is balanced on a knife edge with both games tied at 1-1. Pundits seemed unable to decide which teams would be victorious here and it seems it was with good reason. Home advantage and a better score adjustor may favour Man United who are hosting Cassino Calcio. Nobody likes a trip to Soweto but so far Liverpool seem up to the challenge.
Lockdown Cup
East Fire are struggling for form but are level at the break with the Premier League glitterati of Spurs, whilst Celtic and Tranmere are inseparable with just 25 minutes to go. In Bristol, the Robins have given themselves hope with just over twenty minutes to go against the might of F91 Diddeleng, who will be anxious to prove they should have been in the Champions league but their leaky defence is still leaking a bit. Unfancied Herne Bay also have a lifeline late in their game against the Travelling Willburys. They could still grab something and defy expectations.

Round Four
Flawless if unspectacular by the Fife as they tried to close out the match. Fifteen holes of controlled scrambling and taking what little the course offered. Out of nowhere a red very fast into the creek on 16 and a scrambled bogey. Two birdies to finish and 67 (-5) was the reward for the scrapping Boys from Bayview.
I have run out of fingers to try and keep count of the red marks I have accumulated over the last ten weeks. I can't remember if it's thirteen or fifteen with only a couple of cuts made in that period. Somehow, due to the various score transfer issues I still find myself in CC-B playing at a level that would have just scraped the cut in CC-G this week. Let's hope that next week's Steam update sorts whatever demons they threw into the mix for me over the last few updates.

Sorry for the delay, the Aston Villa management were looking for Jack Grealish. He has been found in the West Ham defenders pocket (again!) When we did finally kick off we spent most of the time passing to the opposition due to the kit man forgetting the away kit....in fact I'm sure I even saw a few Burnley players on the pitch. Player ratings: Goalkeeper -11 Defence -9 Midfield -7 Attack -8 Kit man -35

Obviously, with Jack Grealish in one of those moods where he's more likely to hit a parked car than the back of the net, you were up against it in East London, but credit to the spirit instilled by avjpfc and that's pretty much as hard as the Hammers have been pushed so far. Pity it was in one of their best weeks.

4th Round -3
The Celtic team knew they had to take their chances if they were going to take the 3 points from the game. They were struggled to create any chances up until the 81st minute where a rampaging run from centre back Ajer created space for Christie to slice the ball wide. With 5 minutes left some intricate play between Rogic and Edouard wasn't rewarded as the Frenchman's shot was more akin to a pass back. In the last minute Celtic piled their players forward in a desperate attempt to snatch a late winner but the Tranmere defence held firm and took a point back down south with them.
The Celtic manager deflected questions about his team short comings to focus more on the resolute defending from the away team. But I'm sure he'll be letting the team know how important next week's match is for them now.

Last 20 minutes started with City playing quite well but not taking their chances. Pitch must have been waterlogged, the amount of shots which rolled to a stop just before the goal line. Just as they started to get a head of steam up they shot themselves in the foot (triple on 7 or 8) and the match was over. From there they showed a bit of spirit but they knew the game was beyond their grasp. Fourth round 70.
Whisper it quietly, but I think during that debacle of a second round when I was playing 'f**k it' golf I might have accidentally stumbled across a bit of a eureka moment. Time will tell, but for a change next week can't come quick enough. And it's an event I've won before, in CCB 5 years ago! Are the stars aligning?...

The early run of the second half saw both the red keeper and the blue making saves left and right, standing on their heads to keep the ball out of the net. The metrics slowly began to tilt in the Italians' favor through the latter stages; possession was at blue's feet more often than not, and the run of play started creeping closer and closer to the United goal. But the Azzurri were unable to break through. Then the unthinkable in the 87th minute. A concrete-footed touch on a switch in the back puts the ball squarely in front of the ManU striker. As the shot careened toward the upper left corner, the scattered Calcio fans in attendance were left to ponder how they played so well just to give it away at the end. But Del Guidice to the rescue, cleanly saves the ball going fully horizontal, rights himself and outlets to Sicuro up the right side. He carries full tilt to the attacking third and finds Lucchese on the spot. The ManU goalie smothers the angle before Lucchese can get it proper, but Vitiello is lurking as the ball squirts free. He slams it home in the twine and the Italian celebration is on. ((R3: 65)) ((R4: Bogey on 16, eagle on 17, birdie on 18 to finish with a 63)) Great match jason755

Late drama at the Bayview Stadium Jeff and suddenly the Spurs players have woken up a little after their bus was found in a compound just outside of Fife and hub caps and tempo were kindly returned but it’s still all to play for here and don’t go away as this could be anyone’s game!
