Probably not an update you want to hear but I decided to replant the heather yet again haha! decided the purple plant looks better with just the tips exposed and lower to the ground so I deleted all and started again! luckily it was only three holes. At least this is going to look good when I finish it in 2025 Probably around the time they release a new game with a preset heather plant eh? 😂 Keep up the good work bud! That's exactly what is going to happen lol

3rd Hole nearly done, christ this planting is taking ages! Bear in mind that I'm not doing anything to the open space till the end so apologies if it looks barren Back tee; Front tee; Approach;

One of my favourite back tees in all the land! Completely changes the 3rd from a birdie to a testing par! Love it mate!
What's the plan for creating that wetland on the left? Is always something I've struggled to get right

Looking really good Pat. Definitely appears that the time planting is worth the effort

Is always something I've struggled to get right Agreed! Did Open Qualy there one year and it was a three club breeze into from that tee, was a serious poke to make the 200 yard carry to the fairway lol whilst off the other tee with no wind it's a question of having a poke at the green! I'm probably going to use the sharp circle brush really small to dig some channels and will likely just bury some green bushes and plants in to merge it into a yellow textured heathland which will run all the way around the perimeter, I would then use a grey mulch and bunker lines to give it a bit of depth, probably won't try to plant it with too much grass at this stage as that would probably kill the meter and the rendering. It's why I'm leaving it till the end as I'll know what meter I've got left to complete background areas

I find the best tool for getting out of heather is the “hand wedge” - make sure you have plenty of flex in the knees and with a firm sweeping motion reach down grab the ball and throw back towards the fairway 🤣

Those sunken purple tips look so good! When you sink them like that, do you have to do each individually? I've barely experimented with that method and my plot is hilly. It seems when I use the copy and paste method on anything sunken that elevation data is lost and it defaults to level with terrain.

Unfortunately there’s no quick fix which is why it’s taking ages, I make the plant a bit big and then sink, I’ll then spam plant (bash plant button quick) a small area and then raise lower slightly with the hill and go again, it would be quicker to use the plant resting on the surface but I think it looks better with just the tips poking out

5th hole done, still considering changing the heather AGAIN.... I'm loving the purple tips buried but not sure about the Green bush buried and the grass. Might just bury some trees to scorch the earther and then double on on the purple tips. Decisions to be made. Might do the 6th hole like this and then see what you all think of it. Anyway, have some pics;
