Season 10, week 7
The season is heading off into its final stretch, and so is the battle for golden tees. The team of Balls Deep, entering the week as the likeliest candidate to make the fight for 1st interesting pulls out a massive win over the now last placed Wild Turkeys, skinning them 20.5-3.5. In what is some sick scoring, 4 of the 6 team members walk away with full 4 points!
Not to say the battle for likely 3rd and thus bronze tees won't be getting tight with many teams involved. One team punching their ticket into the fight (later than usual this week) is Stoned & Trippin Nuts, knocking down The Stars of the Xmas Tree 18.5-5.5. Robertson and Anderegg with 4 each to lead the way to a big win for them to stay in the tight pack in the middle.
Another team zooming up fast at the right time is Designated Drivers, who this week leave Man Down... Run! behind without a ride by a score of 17-7. Top end pools of the team coming in clutch for them, as Zartman finds 4 and Cheghall gets 3.5. Both of these teams are going different ways right now, so remains to be seen how it turns out.
Here's the one I think everyone that are in the know was waiting for this week: the unstoppable force that is A Loft Strife and His Goat... has been stopped for at least a week. The Fine Golfplayers surely pulled off some fine playing knocking them off by a score of 13.5-10.5, led off with Lasko's CC-A winning -49 grabbing all 4 points. This result did throw an interesting spanner in the works...
And finally, Golden Tee, Incense and Myrrh and Consumable Tee Friends play a rather friendly match, first mentioned team pulling off a win 13-11. G.I.M. got the team effort needed to pull the win off, meanwhile the Consumables got Doak's 4 to grab some points.
Top score(s): Löfström -64 4 point club: Zartman, Ramberg, Bear, Pinn, Wilkinson, Lasko, Robertson, Anderegg, Doak
Leaderboard check through week 7. Two teams are breaking away at the top, two teams are all but out of any contending for tees with 48 points left on the table. This week the top 2 face off... no pressure there. By scoring over 17.5 points from week 8, the current top team could have the championship guaranteed before week 9. In other news, chaos for third place.
1. (-) A Loft Strife and His Goat (115.5 pts / -2057) 2. (-) Balls Deep (108.5 pts / -1910) 3. (+1) The Fine Golfplayers (85.5 pts / -1805) 4. (-1) Golden Tee, Incense and Myrrh (85.5 pts / -1789) 5. (+2) Stoned & Trippin Nuts (84 pts / -1723) 6. (+2) Designated Drivers (82.5 pts / -1692) 7. (-2) The Stars of the Xmas Tree (77 pts / -1744) 8. (-2) Man Down... Run! (76 pts / -1820) 9. (+1) Consumable Tee Friends (64 pts / -1651) 10. (-1) The Wild Turkeys (61.5 pts / -1560)
Sky Blue Tee leader through week 7: Ramberg 24.5 pts
This week the offering for CC should be a relatively pleasant one as we head off to Old Castle Prairie by Javier Lopez. Scores as we have already seen suggests a killable week. That's at least for the monsters in the group, the others might need to still pull off a lot to get scores like that but it's out there I reckon.
Cheers, best of luck out there!

Season 10, week 8
Big wins and small wins this week. Biggest win of them all was witnessed in match C where Man Down... Run! puts up a murder in cold blood, where the victims Consumable Tee Friends get mauled 22-2. After round 1 ends 4-2, the winners go on a 18-0 run the rest of the way. Enough said really, massive shot gap of 83 meant that one team came to play, the other had an off week. 4 points to 4 players.
Next door in match D, The Stars of the Xmas Tree want to bring the joy of Xmas for a little longer by putting The Wild Turkeys to sleep 20-4. This one much closer in shot gap with 31 in between the two teams, yet margins were not in the favor of the Turkeys. Gilmore and Beaudry at pools 1 and 2 lead the way as the top dogs of the team with 4 points this week.
We now get to more closer contests of the week, where The Fine Golfplayers are once again doing fine. Designated Drivers were sent to sharpen their playing by a score of 14.5-9.5. 1 shot in total in favor of the winners, so any shot here and there may have flipped the script very easily! A good team win with no real standouts here.
Match A sees Golden Tee, Incense and Myrrh narrowly see their gifts of Christmas past be enough as they edge out Stoned & Trippin Nuts 13-11. 11 shots the gap here in this slightly closer match, meaning it's not always about a shot here, shot there. Murray with 4 on the winning side, Anderegg with 4 on the other side.
And finally in match E, the big one of the week. Balls Deep, number 2 in the rankings defeat A Loft Strife and his Goat at the top 13-11 to give the race for the championship a minor dent. In this matchup, the losing side was 2 shots ahead in a high scoring 326-324 match, yet the points went the other way. Wilkinson leads the scoring in the match with 3.5 points, the second placers getting a good show from lower mid pools this week.
Top score(s): Sloan -70 4 point club: Murray, Anderegg, Schneider, Bordeaux, Zuchero, Pihlman, Gilmore, Beaudry
One more leaderboard update. 2 team race for the win of season 10. A Loft Strife and his Goat wrap up the victory by either scoring more than 19 points, or by not allowing Balls Deep to outscore them by more than 5 points. 6 teams are fighting for third place. 2 teams are relegated to spoiler roles this week as the 9th and 10th placed teams have been officially eliminated from tee hunting thanks to major losses this week and are now looking to not place last this week. Better luck next season. Meanwhile, for the individual Sky Blue Tee, 3 people from the top 2 teams have a realistic shot left at taking that one home.
1. (-) A Loft Strife and his Goat (126.5 pts / -2383) 2. (-) Balls Deep (121.5 pts / -2234) 3. (-) The Fine Golfplayers (100 pts / -2061) 4. (-) Golden Tee, Incense and Myrrh (98.5 pts / -2053) 5. (+3) Man Down... Run! (98 pts / -2099) 6. (+1) The Stars of the Xmas Tree (97 pts / -2011) 7. (-2) Stoned & Trippin Nuts (95 pts / -1976) 8. (-2) Designated Drivers (92 pts / -1947) 9. (-) Consumable Tee Friends (66 pts / -1847) 10. (-) The Wild Turkeys (65.5 pts / -1796)
Sky Blue Tee leader, week 8: Ramberg 27 pts
Final week of season 10, the CC adventure is in an interesting place. Carnoustie Cove is the name of the course by Ben Kolbe... does that course name ring bells for at least some? Plat event a mere couple of weeks after the great red fast nerf of the 2021 season, being a seemingly kind test to CC this week. Oh how things change. Every match this week has at least some importance to the standings as there's at least 1 team competing for something in each.
One final chance to take home some teeware. Who rises to the occasion, who's left with none? And how will the two spoiler teams of the week bounce back from getting smashed last week? Tune in next week for the thrilling conclusion of season 10, recapped at this same press channel, probably at a different press time!
Cheers, and best of luck!

Season 10, week 9
First up this week, the ones that end up mattering least but certainly not without any impact: Designated Drivers get one of the teams out of the running, Consumable Tee Friends. They do their part, beating them 16.5-7.5. Very good team effort to wrap up the season nicely for DDs, it was a tough run for the CTF squad. Fulton finishes with 3 points for a respectable finish.
The other team not fighting for much else than not last was The Wild Turkeys, taking on Man Down... Run! which was another in the hunt for third place. For what was up for grabs for both, this was a tight affair, ending with the downed men scraping up a 13-11 win. A solid finish for the top half of the runners, as Bordeaux knocks out 3.5 points and Schneider with 3. On the other side, Rienzo tops the Turkeys with 3.5 himself.
In the end, the big one for third involves two team in the hunt for it, as The Fine Golfplayers faced off against Golden Tee, Incense, and Myrrh. Usually in these cases, both teams could play each other out of the running. But in the end, the fine players end on their best week of the season, topping the match by a score of 18.5-5.5. Very good team scoring effort, and thus it is rewarded with the third place this season!
And then there were 2. Balls Deep, the chasing quad for the championship needed a big win this week to keep hopes up. They delivered, torching The Stars of the Xmas Tree 21.5-2.5 for the second biggest win of the season. Fours galore and 3 the worst, could they have possibly pulled it off?
The answer is... no they did not, as the chart toppers A Loft Strife and his Goat got the points needed this week as they defeat Stoned & Trippin Nuts 20-4. They needed 19 to secure the title, and they went 1 beyond. Very well played all season!
Top score(s): Löfström -68 Four point club: Sloan, Gaudreault, Ramberg, Wilkinson, Livermore
Final standings of season 10:
1. A Loft Strife and his Goat (146.5 pts / -2732) 2. Balls Deep (143 / -2554) 3. The Fine Golfplayers (118.5 / -2371) 4. Man Down... Run! (111 / -2374) 5. Designated Drivers (108.5 / -2228) 6. Golden Tee, Incense, and Myrrh (104 / -2328) 7. The Stars of the Xmas Tree (99.5 / -2270) 8. Stoned & Trippin Nuts (99 / -2254) 9. The Wild Turkeys (76.5 / -2038) 10. Consumable Tee Friends (73.5 / -2108)
Sky Blue Tee winner as MVP of the season: Ramberg with 31 points
The bookies favorite(?) before the season, A Loft Strife and his Goat were certainly showing that promise right off the gate. Having looked like certain winners roughly two thirds of the way through the season, it didn't look like anything could stop them. Eventually, they did run into a couple of stumbles to make the season interesting but the final week showed why they were deserving winners. For finishing first, every member of the team gets the coveted Golden Tee. Congratulations!
In second, another possible winning candidate, Balls Deep. They never really won big until the final third of the season, finding a way to push the winners to the brink. They did all they could and more in the final week, only to fall a little short. However, for their excellent pushback, they definitely are deserving of the Silver Tees. Very well played and congratulations!
And in third, surviving the onslaught of many teams was The Fine Golfplayers. Yes, the name was based on a quote made by your favorite in-game commentator but these guys were fine enough to best 5 other teams in a close race that went down to the wire. Very consistent all the way through, went under the radar most of the season but came through and snuck away with the Bronze Tees. Well earned, congratulations!
The season is now at an end... except technically it's not. The SOTS Cup is now underway! This week is the qualifying and next week is the 16 person 4 round matchplay event to determine a winner for the Striped Tee! Open to all members of HTF, new, old, in waiting... whoever! Here's how the courses shape up for these next 2 weeks, with two very different ones in sight:
Week 1, qualifying: Locked Stable (Tour) by Jon Leece. A CC design contest course from all the way back in 2021. Par 73 with 5 gettable par 5s (supposedly, according to the designer), a bit of old school for those wishing to qualify. And to those who do qualify or for those who wish to play just for fun...
Week 2, matchplay event: Tobaccolot Bay GC - Lower by Axel von Fersen. One out of two from a pair of courses of a same name, tailor made for CC. Upper course is meant to be the harder one. Not a cakewalk this one either, par 69 so scoring might not necessarily be the easiest to find. Good luck to those that make it here!
Well, that's it for me this season! See you at the next one, thank you for reading! Cheers!
