I selected 4. My desire to play has diminished as I see the scores quickly trending in the same direction as 2019. When I play in a society with a winning score of -62, it’s time to move on.

It's actually a pretty good game when playing just for fun like in an alt-shot with some friends, but as a serious competitive game it's pretty bad because it's way to random depending on network connection and other circumstances, and to be really successful you need to use design flaws in the game like the fast swing which makes it pretty uninspiring and dull.

When I play in a society with a winning score of -62, it’s time to move on. 1) The CC course for this week and the setup allowed for really good scoring 2) There is no -62 on any CC leaderboard 3) You play your TGCT rounds in your tier against similarly skilled players... don't worry about scores you see in the Society. There are 12 different CC tiers and also any other players whether a TGCT member or not that can play in the society 4) IMO, more and more players are adopting the draw/hook method of play to circumvent playing for proper tempo

From the middling CC level of D:
I am on PC and use a mouse. I struggled mightily early on but never gave up since I remember the struggle from transitioning from TGC2 to 2K19. Once I put in the hours and reached level 100 I can say I enjoy the game, even more that 2K19 despite not scoring as well. Chalk the increase enjoyment to the better looking part of 2K21.
I play for perfects, but situationally I will play for a fast or a slow. Example: that course in Georgia USA, holes 2 and 10. I'm a lefty and need to hit a fade so I try to get slightly slow. If I am playing into a strong right to left wind, a slightly fast will result into a straightish shot. I did not use the left box in 2K19 and do not use the equivalent in 2K21, rather I try to hit partials (my fav part of the game, lends realism IMO).
All this adds up to a guy happy with the game and my place in it. Do I want to shoot scores double digits under par? Tough answer cause I want to do well, but I want this game to be more like IRL golf than not. Going into this week I have a scoring average of 69.3, what I would not give to have that IRL! But would I want my scoring average in the game to be 59.3? No, I fear I would get bored with it and move on.
Sorry for the rambling, bordering on TLDR, just my 2 cents.
Onward!

I'm in CC-I. The first few tourneys the cut was around +3, now it's under par. Top 15% scores were -10 to -20. Now -20 to -30 or better. Same issues as TGC 2019. Exploits are mastered and scores drop, such that conventional play cannot compete. I don't feel like slamming my stick for duck hooks to shoot better scores. I wish there was a league where balanced play could be realized.

The hate from the game must be from console users, this game is a gem on PC. Yes there are problems with penalty drops which the last game had also, the splash shot is crazy overpowered with unrealistic spin from heavy rough outside of bunkers but I don't use it outside of bunkers anyway. There is a problem where your ghost or live partner's ball disappears with fixed cam but I think nobody here uses fixed cam anyway. Pitch appears as chip on live play but not for ghost play. Graphics wise the upgrade is huge on PC, playing the game over 60 fps with VRR is such a great experience. courses look so much better than TGC2019 the game feels better and it is such a better experience than before and a massive graphics boost, got to the point where TGC2019 bugged me and I really disliked it but I love this game. HUGE improvement when TGC2019 was a step backwards from TGC2 apart from the short game bar putting. I started out on ps4 but just got pc, it runs like butter in 4K on my somewhat antiquated 1060 6gb, looks absolutely stunning

You could go back to nes golf and if you want to play a hook it’s more consistent than trying for perfect, it’s same in every golf game ever realized and it’s the same in real golf as well, a repeatable swing, imagine if every tour pro merely tried to drill a straight shot down the fairway instead of playing their shot

This isn't a fade or a draw we're talking about. This is a full on, swing out of your boots with the least forgiving club, red fast hook. And it's easily repeatable, certainly MUCH more easily than trying to hit it perfect. I love how people try to justify this as a legitimate way of playing golf by saying the Pros don't hit it straight, yadda yadda yadda. Maybe not, but they sure as sh%$ ain't doing that either! I'm not saying anything against people who choose to play by that method. It's in the game and is a flaw in the mechanic which is there to be exploited. That's not cheating, that's just taking advantage of what the game is giving you. But don't go calling out people who are trying to play the game properly and are getting a bit frustrated with it.

Where am I with this game? Not sure, I haven't played a round for almost a week which probably says it all. Todd you do make me laugh though, worst poll options ever!
Do you: A) Hate the game? B) Think it's OK I suppose? C) Want to go round HB Studios with a pitchfork? D) Wish a pox on all the Devs and their families? E) Rather stick pins in your eyes?
Believe it or not I still love this game and this franchise. Despite everything there is so much going for it. But I have to admit I'm also now beyond frustrated. It's SOO close to being brilliant but all these stupid little things just grate away at you. Multiplayer crashes, incomplete leaderboards, Xbox tempo, the stupid red fast mechanic, Series X putting glitches, stupid round ending drop zones, etc etc etc. It's like I've been repeatedly punching myself in the face and shouting "I love it" each time, until eventually I said "Ow."
I haven't given up hope.....

I barely play now, got halfway thru the first round this week and quit. Having to play for red fast has gotten boring.

Fortunately my expectations of HB are super low at this point. Enjoyed the first game because everyone was always on a level playing field and for the most part scores reflected the time and effort people put into their game. The last three have all been rather meh to me and I've kind of bounced in and out of playing the Tours throughout them, but never really feeling it like I did in the TGC1 days. Did Qschool about a month ago as I had a desire to try it again but it's already feeling like a chore to get through 4 rounds in a week. My game has improved a lot since switching to PS5 but that's not proving to be enough to keep me interested. That being said once away from a society and playing on my own I think this game does a great job with allowing you to play the game however you want. I've enjoyed rangering far more this year because I can use whatever settings I want and it has no impact on how the course plays compared to regular Tour settings.

I find it far too tempo heavy, and on Xbox tempo is everything. I think it could be great if the problems were fixed but I'm very doubtful HB are the company to fix them.
I'm playing the game on a console HB clearly couldn't give a #### about and I'm rapidly getting tired of their attitude, their lack of diligence when making this game and their apparent willingness to accept their game is flawed on Xbox, and not to care.

That's not how the game is made to be played, and I'd rather not destroy my controller within a month playing like that.
