Still making steady progress on this, spent a long time burying desert bushes to make the fescue render from further out but wasn't too happy with the end result so I deleted 6 hours of work.... Instead I've decided to just use scorched earth as the yellow colour and allow the grass to render normally, you can still see the change in texture from a long way out and it feels right up close now. I'm working my way through now just tidying up and doing additional planting before I then complete the background and clubhouse area. Probably 15-20 hours away from a beta release.    |

Still going on this, been very busy with non designer activities but will hopefully get a beta out for this over the next couple of weeks

I was lucky enough to go to the '99 Ryder Cup, and it was awesome. My old roommate is a member, and I played with him once, but it was too long ago, so I look forward to teeing it up when you're done...Hopefully I'll play it better than in real life... |

Just posting quickly to give you all fore-warning that the beta is a week away, I've finished up my course tidying (although will have a long list of amendments from the beta testing no doubt) and have pretty much finished the clubhouse area bar the famous clock which I'm still working on. Next step is working on the housing estate behind the first green and also quickly planting the neighbouring golf course to ensure scout cam has the right feel. This will be followed by planting the OB, adding markers, benches and other items like cars which should take me to my object limit. I'll then delete these markers and cars for the championship version so I can add stadia etc. The members course will be the first publish and I'm still torn between themes and will likely publish two betas in Autumn and Borreal to get your thoughts on this. Anyway, have a few photos to keep you interested for another week;       |

See what the betas look like but typically I think the autumn looks pretty bad def my least fav of the themes I'd tend to disagree with that, asides from the awful background, I think the Autumn theme works best with the scorched earth / fescue look and also the textures render really nicely too. With Boreal I find it gets VERY rocky on steeper hills where I bury the trees but the background is better than the Autumn theme. The proof will be in the pudding once the betas are published with same lighting etc. I haven't even touched the lighting except time of day yet |

I agree with you it's def the background that sucks but it does look better for the long grass and scorched earth look

Pat, just finished my first trip around this beauty and it didn't disappoint. The course looks great, it plays great and everything about it is first rate. The planting is extremely well done, I really like the environment that you created and the attention to detail around the entire course is superb. I only play USE settings with everything turned off, but I had to turn the follow cam on just to be able to see the entire course and appreciate the effort you put into this. Thank you for creating this excellent addition to the game. It's been long overdue. I honestly don't have anything that I could see from the beta that needs to be tweaked, but I'll play it again later with a different pin and see if anything shows up. |
