I don't see why anyone would quit. Yes you'll find yourself in a bad spot now and then...but everyone on the PGA should be able to scramble well enough to avoid the BIG numbers. The hole that frightens me is 15. If you hit the bunker off the tee then you may as well play for bogie. If you miss the green too...well then double is your buddy...

I've played about 4 rounds on Bison Day 1, never breaking -6 for a round in 8-13 mph winds. I feel like this is how the PGA Tour should be playing every week. However, I also feel like majors should play even harder than the "normal" tourneys and this new Bison Run is a major-style course.

3 1/2 minutes to load on PS4. Just be patient. I really like these conditions and I'm looking forward to my two rounds in the tournament. I say two rounds not because the course is unfair, it definitely isn't, but because I just can't putt. As someone accurately pointed out earlier you can't have people complain about easy courses on the PGA Tour and then blast a challenging one. There really isn't a legitimate way to set up a course to be a challenge when everybody can fire right at pin and have it stick. Not without making it obscenely long or red and yellow roller coaster greens. Video game golf...it's pretty easy to hit your intended shot over and over again. I think people will quickly adapt and begin to embrace the conditions.

Funny seeing everyone talking about next weeks tourney when this week is still in Friday mode. Even has its own Thread. Didn't see that coming so soon on the Tour. Guess the "spoiler" thread kinda taking the fun out of current tourney too soon. Noticed that trend over the last several tourneys.

one other thing. This is not as firm as it gets. I did NOT take the firmness all the way up...just most of the way. I thought it was confirmed that the firmness is not a slider...there are only three settings and anything past 1 o clock is going to be the firmest?Anyway I like this better...I don't mind having to land the ball short of the green to get close on some holes as long as there is no hazard in the way. Now if only I could learn how to putt on the fast greens... True , Confirmed by HB.

Guess the "spoiler" thread kinda taking the fun out of current tourney too soon. Noticed that trend over the last several tourneys. You've hit on my personal pet peeve. I gave up trying to buck the overall feel that people want to know the winner on Sunday night a full week before the tourney ends and before 3/4 of the field has even teed up. It's like unwrapping Christmas presents early. I always shoot and post my rounds on the last day, partly because of time constraints, partly to stick to my guns of wanting a more "revealing" tournament atmosphere. Alas, I am in the great minority so I just bite my tongue and play along.

Yeah, I posted in the suggestions forum about perhaps making the tournaments run from Sunday--Sunday, but it seems few were interested in discussing that.

It's not a very impressive course imo. Takes forever to load. Fps is less than desirable. I don't know that I would've even rated it "tour worthy" if I had reviewed it.
I'm not gifted in the way of designing a course but if I wanted to make a tough course I would -make par 4s 450+ yards long -make par 3s 200+ yards long -make par 5s 600+ yards long
No need for the ridiculously fast and firm conditions. I'm all for these conditions if I have a fair chance of hitting a shot that can roll up to a pin. Impossible scoring conditions like very fast, very firm mixed with tucked pins on shallow greens equals unplayable. I'm sure there will be a slew of pga players trying to crossover this coming week.

Impossible scoring conditions like very fast, very firm mixed with tucked pins on shallow greens equals unplayable. I'm sure there will be a slew of pga players trying to crossover this coming week. Not sure it's unplayable, maybe not birdieable, and from what I seen the PGA side filled fast this week.
This course won a contest if I'm not mistaken and beat Biggins as well.
It's a large file, needs a minute to load then plays fine.
On to the conditions, I think most PGA players are looking forward to these conditions, where par does not lose a stroke to the field and the birdie depending on hole will maybe even gain a stroke on the field. The course hands you a -6 before you even tee off, that's plenty to keep the score in check.
What I find entirely unrealistic is sticking the pin and birdying every hole. The only knowledge needed is the carry distance to the hole and the carry distance of the club, no offense but a monkey can figure that out. These conditions make par a good score and birdie a better score, that's more realistic in my books. Now in order to shoot lights out you will need to plan and execute your shots needing far more information and need to know the carry distance of all your clubs and all the lofts. You will need to plan your attack at the green, do you try for the pin or do you play for par. Firing at all the pins is poor course management. Course Management is an integral part of the game of golf, these conditions bring back the need for course management skills.
This was a great decision by TGC for this tour, a decision I predict will end up sticking like glue for this tour.
Yes, you and me and everyone else will have to re-learn the game to play these conditions, but it will make for a better more rewarding game of true realistic golf.
By the on to your course suggestion, when I play golf here and in RL, much of my opinion of the course comes from did I need every club in my bag. With your suggestions I would only need 5 of the 14 clubs I have in the bag. With these new conditions, each and every club has a different reaction, each and every loft has a different reaction, with these conditions the course need not be monster long for a challenge, but can be much shorter and the player can use the entire bag of clubs they are lugging around.

I don't have a problem with the course the way it is set up. Although with greens like this there should be more run up area. Even good shots are going to be penalized here. what I do have an issue with is it is going to be unfair to the console players as the fps at least on my machine is just plain bad. Isn't part of the selection process to make sure the course can run well on all platforms? If not it should be. In my case I am trying to make a run at the top 90 so I can get into the masters. With the way it is glitching and jumping around, I doubt if I will even make the cut. I played day two, 2 mph l-r wind. I had a slight side hill lie, so I played to the very edge of the left side of the green. Hit a dead nuts straight shot and ended up off the green on the right. ?? Squirt, gust, glitch? Got me. This course will be almost unplayable for me. Really too bad it can't be fair for everyone. But like I said, no issues with the course

Hi dennis, have you tried changing the display setting regarding depth of field, it has been suggested a few hundred times now and fixes peoples frame rate issues. The squirt I can't help with, I squirt as well as do most people.

Maybe we need to get rid of the Spoiler threads. I think it kind of ruins the suspense of the tournaments.

The squirt I can't help with, I squirt as well as do most people. My depth of field is off and i still had hideous frame rate issues with the course. It's a slight issue with every countryside course but every other shot was 90-95% and it became impossible to play so i switched back to the Euro Tour for the week. Which is a shame as i was really looking forward to the challenge

But if someone reads them, then they should be not be complaining. Not sure if that was the case or not. Getting rid of them altogether solves any issue.
