Hi gang! In for the next season but for the fun week, I am on holiday with my adult children and my granddaughter, in central Florida visiting a certain mouse. Said granddaughter is nearing 4 yrs old so expecting a great time not thinking about pixel golf. And yes, the son-in-law and I will be playing two rounds on the Disney grounds while we’re here (spoiler alert: I’m worse in real life) Anyway, I’ll see you for the start of next season in whichever team seems mean fit for selection. In the mean time: I’M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!  JEALOUS!!! Not of going to Florida but rather the time spent with family and enjoying Disney through the lens of your grandkid. Send us a pic of you on the golf course if you can? Enjoy Mark, just try to remember us when you return. |

Crippled Parrot Cup - Round One
On Artic Fury's brooding Ayers Point GC I rarely felt confident. I trusted my tempo as much as a drunken fart. I got a little lucky early on and raced out to four under but scrambled my way round fir the remaining holes. Two more birdies were cancelled out by two bogies and despite quite a few Brazilians I signed for that -4 for Round 1.

Ah man, I thought it was a rest week so went out there after too few beers and not a care in the world. I still screenshotted(?) My scorecard as I now do that for every round so you guys don't shout/laugh/mock me.

Rd 1 Parrot in a Box Even
Close to a few more birdies than I actually scored and a few lucky bounces off rocks and things get me close enough to par some holes .
-2 after 3 stayed like that until about the 13th, a double bogey and bogey followed by a birdie a hole or two later to end up with par for the rd .

Thanks Frans. Always been and always will be a see it hit it player. Little to no thinking required and if something crosses my mind then happens during mid back swing usually. Masters forgiveness/penalty just that few pixels too tight for me I think. Changed me into a see it and hope for it player. Played 2 rounds beer league today for the 1st time ever and felt in control for the 1st time since game release.

Dear (remaining) Dead Parrots,
The time has come to listen carefully to the wise words of our spiritual father, John Cleese:
"He has ceased to be, bereft of life, he rests in peace, he has kicked the bucket, hopped the twig, bit the dust, snuffed it, breathed his last, and gone to meet the Great Head of Light Entertainment in the sky..."
We must accept that what we set out to do with our Dead Parrots Society is no longer feasible.
Too many have left us, too few seem interested in joining us.
And that's okay, really; it is simply time to move on.
Season 2 of the Dead Parrots Society was the last one.
I would like to thank everybody who was involved in this society for contributing to the fun we had!!!
If anyone of this group would like to set up something new, at some time in the future, I am sure some, if not all, of us could very well be interested. In fact, I hope something new will pop up and I, for one, will be happy to join.
