Dear fransslabak honeybadger64 Art Vandelay katana22 IGolfBad Crazy Croc Riotous sid snott Loftyando evilgrin72 inflames47 SAM Celtic Wolf cappy1 bogeyman SkyBlueBen And now for something completely different... Welcome to the Dead Parrots Society! All of you have indicated that you would like to be a Dead Parrot. These messages will outline what you got yourselves into... The Dead Parrots Society is a society of 16 players, who would all like to add to their pixel golf experience by being an active member of this society. To accommodate for the sense of humour of some of the people who have worked to put all this together, this society will be Monty Python Flying Circus themed; just go with the flow and we promise you'll like it AND it hopefully stops Frans’ Latin team names in their tracks! While we await the release of PGA 2K21, the first season of the Dead Parrots Society will commence 5th July 2020 at Amaroo Bay and will not only provide all of us with a chance to get used to what it means to be a Dead Parrot but also allow us to test some of the ideas already developed for when the new game will be here. As time was limited we have come up with a basic structure to see out the current TGCT season and TGC game; what will happen after that will be driven by what is available within the new game, when/if it is implemented by TGCT and, most importantly, what we all seem to enjoy/appreciate the most during the first season. Let's develop our ideas for improvements and innovations together! Season 1: The Pixel Golf
The backbone of it all is a competition that will consist of 4 teams of 4 players. The Admin Team will create four teams and approach four Captain’s; who will say 'yes' . Each team will be allocated their Monty Python themed team name and away we go. The proposed format each week for season 1 will be as follows:
1) A total score match play event utilising the 4 rounds from TGCT CC-Pro in the style we are all familiar with. Those playing outside of CC-Pro will need to be prepared to play 4 extra rounds each week. Scores to be reported in this thread. The season will be 6 weeks long with teams playing each other twice and hopefully it will build a little friendly rivalry.
2) An individual stroke play competition of 2 rounds set up within a Society, initially to be played Sunday to Wednesday but being extended later in the season to be played over 7 days. The course and conditions will be determined by Admin and we will try to use a mixture of courses created by Dead Parrots but also the best of the wider community.
3) A team competition of 1 round set up within a Society, initially to be played Thursday to Saturday but being extended later in the season to be played over 7 days, where players may play solo or in a group (not necessarily with their own team mates) and their scores will be added to that of their team mates to determine points awarded. Course and conditions selection criteria as for the individual tournament.
Both for 2) and 3) online play will be encouraged but not obligatory. We appreciate the difficulties various time zones present. And we’d love to see play streamed on Twitch and recordings shared in our thread. Also, don't be surprised if we ask you to try something different some weeks; only use irons, maximum 3 clubs allowed, things like that...
There will be a welcome message every Saturday outlining events for the following week.
The points earned in the above competitions will be accumulated into one Individual and one Team Leaderboard. The winner of the season obviously being the individual and team that accumulates the most points over the course of the season.
As an End of Season event there will be a match play tournament (Ryder Cup format) between 2 teams of 8 (team selection criteria to be determined but we very much do NOT want this to be a US vs the Rest thing).
We also hope to be able to run a live match play event for each system with generous timescales to allow as many players as possible to get involved.
System Selection
Your CC-Pro rounds must obviously be played on the system that you are registered on with TGCT. However, for Society play you will able to play on any system you own with prior notification to Admin so we know which system’s Society to collect the scores from. This is to assist in facilitating online play groupings to make it as accessible as possible.

Season 1: The Rules
For the avoidance of doubt we state here the guidelines that players are expected to follow and the penalties should they be transgressed. All competition is run following TGCT rules with the exception of the first 2 rounds of the Team event mentioned under 1) must be played by midnight Wednesday your local time unless Admin has been contacted to allow an extension. If this isn’t adhered to we will bring in a substitute for all four rounds comparable to your division level from a pool of players selected by the scorer prior to the season commencing, so that your team is not penalised. The player will be given 0 points for the Team event mentioned under 1) for that week for the individual standings. Should a player fail API, use beginner’s clubs or any other transgression that causes their scores to be unacceptable to TGCT, we will apply the same logic. The player will be given 0 points for event 1) for that week for the individual standings but in the interests of not penalising the team a substitute player will be again used based on the above criteria for the team score and points that week. We know that no Dead Parrot would deliberately cheat and this course of action is not to shame anyone. However, we want to adhere to using scores accepted by TGCT for event 1) to keep things as transparent as possible. We trust that all Dead Parrots understand and accept these rules. What's more, you can still play events 2) and 3) that week, score points for your individual standings and your team, and your team is not penalised for your honest mistake.

You know the penalty laid down by Dead Parrot’s Society for playing beginner clubs? No. Crucifixion! Oh. Nasty, eh? Could be worse. What do you mean "Could be worse"? Well, you could be stabbed. Stabbed? That takes a second. Crucifixion lasts hours. It's a slow, horrible death Well, at least it gets you out in the open air
