Just a refreshing update for you all regards the size of the field, and how everyone is playing nicely this week.
So far, 0 API pulls!!
This is thanks largely to the fact that 21 (TWENTY ONE) repeat offenders have now been stopped from competing in the Majors this year.

How utterly depressing

It's about 7% of the total PGA player base, but not all of those play regularly which would push the % up as a metric in line with your weekly peers... Some of the 21, however, have stopped playing too, so that would bring the % down against those you compete with each week. There are another 59 players with 1 or more pull. 25 of which are on the leaderboard with scoring rounds already. 21 of the 59 are only one pull short of Major exclusion and of the 25 noted above which are already on the board this week, 11 are on 2 pulls. Depressing is one way to look at it, but on the other hand it's being policed and people are being excluded from WGR events and Majors. Here's hoping they fix the bloody swing for 2K21

Going to put some effort and practice a few times before tasking this one. Are you going to have 40+ practice rounds like you did at the original Elmview US Open?

Other than that this is a heck of a challenge, as a US Open course should be. Love a challenge. Love trying to work out how to play a hole. Love having alternative ways of doing so and having to choose between being aggressive or defensive. This course has none of that.
It gives you a tiny landing zone to leave yourself any putt, and there's probably about 20 greens over the 72 holes that were almost impossible to hold whatever you do.
So the only two skills being tested are hitting literally perfect shots and chipping. If you have a slightly wonkier swing or tempo issues you can basically forget it. There's no bail out. No thinking involved whatsoever.
In fact the course rewards you for deliberately missing the greens. At that point it ceases to be anything resembling a golf course and shouldn't be worthy of hosting a major.
This is where we are now. Anything goes as long scores are kept to some mythical acceptable level.
I always respect your thoughts and opinions but on this one I disagree. There's no reward for missing greens, unless you believe par is a reward, which may be the case at times in the US Open in particular. Many times I settled for a longer putt because the risk was too great to stick it close, and I think that's how to make a course more difficult given how the game plays. It seems this board is one complaint after another about literally every course chosen, with the exception of Augusta. Too hard. Too easy. Too firm. Too soft. Too windy. Not enough wind. Good grief... Having said all that I shot a -7 in round 2 and feel great about it. And I'll say no more about trees blocking the green.

A) that was a blast...
B) what’s the groups thought on the cut line?

I actually preferred this week to last (isnt saying much) despite me scoring much worse. Greens are a joke. Far too small and impossible to navigate. If you land it 3 feet off your spot then you'll be chipping back onto the green. Some putts were impossible to get close because they just kept rolling off the green. Enjoyed the challenge of the rest of the course but when the most important part of the game is impossible, it kinda sucks the fun out of it. But hey - it's a major so it has to be impossible, right?
-10 at the cut, will probably miss the weekend
-12 after 4. Should I make it to the weekend, I'll finish last out of those who do, just like last week.

Whether you SHOULD play your last two rounds is a very different question

Gave it a go and my usual nice short game let me down. The shots you don't even think about, the short chips or flops cost me 4 or 5 bogeys as I banged it by the hole and off the green. I made enough birdies but with the bogies, I sit out the weekend. At this point I'm pretty content to wait for the new game as I just can't get excited about the game any more.

That pin on 7 in round 4 has to be illegal as well (two illegal pins that round, with 18?). If you're left of that pin (above the hole), can the putt hold the green? I also don't think it's possible to hold the green below the hole.

That just wasn’t fun. I’m officially defeated after these last two weeks, no enthusiasm for the way the tour is going with courses/setups of late, but I guess others are enjoying it - which is great, honestly I’m glad some are having the fun I used to here - but it’s just...yea, deflating, I guess. I don’t want to be the guy who just comes here and complains constantly, especially when it doesn’t really matter, so I’ll leave it at that. GL everyone.
