Event 23 HANDICAP RESULT - CARLSBERG CONDOR?
There were no sightings of a condor in Denmark - just Terbal (Terry) lifting another trophy to record his fourth victory of the season! Kypran (Franck) mounted a brave assault but came up short by four strokes to claim his third runner-up spot of the year. The best rounds of the week were produced by Ianhoggard and Beegee, a couple of super 58's in the opening round, and they helped the two of them to end the event in a tie for third spot. The top four all moved up in the Money List, but there was little movement in the higher echelons of the earnings table.
A total of 21 goats finished the tourney and we also welcomed on board a couple more members - my old friend from Jack Nicklaus 6 and Perfect Golf, Randy G, as well as GeeTee. We hope you both enjoy the 'Goat Experience'!!
From Denmark we follow the vikings across the North Sea to Bonnie Scotland, where we hope to see your continued support and another good turn-out!! Good luck all!

Handicap Event 25 Preview - BRITISH GOATS OPEN
It’s time for the fourth and final Major event of the season, and we’re off to Royal St Georges in Kent which has held this tourney 13 times previously, the same number of times it has also hosted the Amateur Championship. On the 4th hole it boats the deepest bunker in championship golf and, continuing the James Bond theme from the Tour of England, author Ian Fleming used the Royal St George's course under the name "Royal St. Marks" in his 1959 novel ‘Goldfinger’. When he died, Fleming was the Captain-elect of the Club.
Located on the coast near the eastern end of the English Channel, you’d better pack a calculator to tot up your strokes just in case the wind decides to blow! And watch out for your drive on the 14th hole – that’s all I’m saying! Good luck Goats!

Event 24 Handicap RESULT - THE HAGGIS SPECIAL
With what turned out to be the best round of the event, an incredible 55, Beegee's 8-stroke lead after the opening round looked set to give him his first outright victory, but a mid-tourney dip in form put that win in jeopardy. In the final round he again produced the best score of the day and looked to have 'sealed the deal'. However, Ianhoggard had other ideas and his four consistently good rounds were enough to match Beegee's total - so we have joint winners this week!! And two more first-time winners!
Eight strokes further back in another tie, this time for third, were Dick (Arsam) and Nathan (Cajuncapgun), both players' first third place finish and also their second podium finish of the season. The top four all moved up in the Money List as a consequence of their performances this week. There was little other movement, but Kenneth-H did reduce Bobfletch's lead at the top from $110 to just $75.
We had 20 finishers this week and thanks to all of them for their valued participation!! From Scotland we travel to Kent for the final Major of the year at Royal St Georges on the Kent coast, so good luck to all the goats down there!!

Handicap Event 26 Preview - The Nordea Goatmates
Back to Scandinavia and the Bro Hof Slott Golf Club in Sweden which opens it’s gates for the next leg of the Old Goats World Tour. The Stadium Course offers a picturesque but challenging lakeside test and brings water into play on many of its beautiful holes. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., it is now ranked as one of the very best courses in Europe. With long holes, large greens, considerable water, large and well-placed bunkers, not to mention the gusting winds, this is a unique challenge. Thanks to Mikael Thunberg for recreating it for our golfing enjoyment/frustration hehe...
The Nordea Masters, a PGA European Tour event, was hosted here from 2010 to 2013 and 2015 to 2016, and here’s a short video to whet your appetite…
Even Art likes it, as he said a while ago “Bro Hof Slott is just magnificent”. Good luck and enjoy!!

Event 25 Handicap RESULT - BRITISH GOATS OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP
The outcome of this fourth Major was unknown right up until the tourney closed. Beegee, the clubhouse leader for a long time, sat watching as player after player fell short of his 12 under par total. Then Daddygoat (Les) started his final round well enough in the difficult conditions, but a bogey on the 7th threatened to derail his challenge. However, Les then birdied five of the next six holes and looked a very likely winner – but then a bogey on #14 knocked him back, only for Les to produce the shot of the round on #15, a 5-iron approach that saw his ball stop inches from the cup for a tap-in birdie. Three holes to go and one bird required for the outright win. Les parred #16, had a scare on #17 but managed to sink his 11-foot par putt, which left one more hole to play. After a good drive his approach found the centre of the green, leaving a 22-footer for that golden birdie – but it wasn’t to be, and in the end he carded a par to settle for a share of first place!
But there was late drama after Ianhoggerd's third round 62 saw him reach 13 under par - but he inexplicably failed to complete his final round, leaving Beegee and Les as joint Champions!!
Best opening round was Skunky's 66, best second round was Beegee's 63, while Randy G produced the best scores for both the third (63) and final (60) rounds. Randy had an odd tournament, having a miserable first couple of rounds which persuaded him to change clubs. The effect was miraculous and rewarded him with a fourth place finish. In third spot was Sikkum (Archie) who was just one stroke adrift of the eventual winners, and that was his third podium finish in just six outings. Beegee's win was his second of the season, adding to his shared win last week in the Haggis Special. This was also Les's second victory, and his first was also a shared win, at The Montezuma in Mexico.
Double earnings for a Major sees joint winner Les shoot to the top of the Money List, up from third, Simon is promoted from 5th to 4th, swapping with Art, while Beegee soars up from 25th to 18th. Randy G is the biggest mover, rising from 37th to 28th.
Whew! What a tourney, what a course and what a week! Let's go to Sweden for a rest - yeah, right!

Handicap event 27 Preview - ZIEGEN SCHUTZENFEST
Next stop is Germany and Christian Elsesser’s Wasserschloss Auel Tour course. This heavily tree-lined course features breathtaking countryside and spectacular planting as well as strategic hole design. As a grand finale you will see a traditional German Wasserschloss (water castle). At over 7,400 yards the goats will be facing another tricky challenge.
This event coincides with the annual beer festival near Hanover. The world’s largest celebration for marksmen and beer (always a superb combination!!!) was first celebrated in 1529. The fair welcomes 5,000 marksmen, half a dozen beer tents, and an infamous Marksmen’s Parade, a 7.5-mile-long parade consisting of top marksmen, marching bands, floats, and 1.5 million spectators, which wins it the title of longest parade (and maybe even best entertainment) in all of Europe.
My advice is keep your head down and take it easy on the beer, it won’t help your golf at all…

Event 26 Handicap RESULT - NORDEA GOATMATES
We have joint winners for the third consecutive week! Bozo1942 registered his third first place of the season, helped by the best round of the event, a super 61 in the second round. Tied with him was Cajuncapgun who produced consistently good golf all week, including the joint best score in the third round, to finally earn his first win in 26 starts. In third place, four strokes adrift, was SimChars1968 who topped the leaderboard after the opening round, and who is still chasing that elusive first victory! A special mention goes to Beegee who improved on his disastrous third round 81 by 19 strokes in the following round to record a 62, the best final day score. Returning member GeeTee gave a good account of himself, finishing 5th, while RWP (Ian) claimed a commendable 4th spot, aided by the joint best round on the third day, a very competent 66. A few regulars decided to take some time out last week, presumably to recharge their batteries, and hopefully they will re-appear in Germany this week. The top 3 in the Money List had a poor tournament, and there was minimal movement elsewhere. Now we head south to Germany for another stern test, and we hope to see you all there!

Another close week in scratch tour this week and again some great scores were posted by the Goats a last ditch 62 for Art in final round put Art as leader in clubhouse to sit back and see if anyone could catch him, a great charge from new Goat in da house GeeTee could only tie with Art and it was looking like a shared tourney until SimChars1968 who had led the event all week arrived at 18th needing a birdie to win the event outright and thats exactly what he did, congratulations go to SimChars1968 on winning with a score of 254 (-34) nice to see your getting back to winning ways Simon well played. Runner up was tied this week between Art Vandelay with his 7th runners up spot and GeeTee on his debut to the Scratch Tour with scores of 255 (-33) well played gents. Other scores to mention a good tournament for Alteadm (RWP) and bozo1942 well done fellas. Round of the week goes to our winner SimChars1968 with a fine 59 in round one, well played Simon. Again not much movement on money leader board bovakian moving up the ranks swiftly and new Goat GeeTee straight in at 23. Only 16 players finished the event out of 21 starters which was disappointing and some didn't even play for whatever reason, pity they missed another good course and set up by tour organiser Bob. This week we travel to Germany to contest the Ziegen Schutzenfest on the Wasserschloss Auel Tour course. Safe journey Goats hope to see you there. FINAL LEADERBOARD

Do I have to screenshot my scorecards after playing in either Old Goats or Tour of England and post them on here or the Old Goats society on the Pro-boards.

Handicap Event 28 Preview – Toggenburger Classic
We travel south to beautiful Switzerland and the spectacular Hallstatt North course for the next leg of our World Tour. Thanks goes to Victor Lane, the designer, who said “This project was designed for the World Cup of Design and intended to stretch my skills as a community designer to the limits, as I tried for things I had never really gone after before in the hopes of making a course with interesting playability and a high degree of visual appeal. Hopefully I've pulled that off and you enjoy your rounds.” I think Victor was successful on both counts!
Your scoring will not only depend on how you play, but also on the conditions – and this week I have asked Les (Daddygoat) to set them so if there are any complaints please direct them to him lol…

Fantastic course. Its on my fav's list. Dont go overboard with 'slick stuff' though, as that could kill off enjoyment!

Screenshots to be posted in The Old Goats Pro-boards forum Les. I look at these forums on an iPad not my computer so I’m not sure how to share a screenshot, that’s even if I could take one on my a PC. I will probably end up taking a photo of my screen and posting that if I can. I don’t like adding programs unnecessarily onto my PC it’s just another thing to wrap my old brain around.

Handicap event 27 RESULT - ZIEGEN SCHUTZENFEST
He made a surprise return to the herd - and in his first event back he won it!! Yorkybrom (previously known as Les1959) was steady all through the event and amazingly won without having any best round scores! SimChars1968 (Simon) so very nearly caught Les in the final round but fell short by one stroke and had to settle for second spot. These two were seven shots clear of RWP (Ian) and Bovakian (Dave) who finished the week tied for third.
Terbal (Terry) produced the best opening round (65) but faded after that, Cajuncapgun (Nathan) had the best second round (68) before his catastrophic third round scuppered his chances, new member Devs announced his entrance with the best third round (65) and will be a leading light it appears, while Simon's 64 in the final round was the best closing effort.
From Germany we now make our way to the Swiss mountains for the next event, so good luck to everyone who turns out there!
