I would suggest people remember the below from the original post...
“What are the main points of focus? Neatness counts! A high premium will be placed on making the course look neat, or if it is intentionally rugged or unkempt, executing that look will go a long way.”
It was my focus for sure. Ben won’t have it all his way, and I know he would feel uncomfortable having that label right now. He may win but it’s gonna be a good battle.

Could you imagine how much it must suck to lose by a tenth of a point? Yikes!! To a scrub like McConnell no less.

Hiya, Taroko is Dian, hence why you can't find that one. At time of starting Marlette, I had just Fairview and Ganglesee on the database - you can check release date from Greenstone and Marlette you know. At the time, results for the CC hadn't been finalised (Ganglesee would finish 10th, so not in the top 6 anyway). Appreciate the sort of compliment though and right to check, for sure. I actually talked to both Patrick and Eric before signing up to check that I fit the criteria - also made clear that I would understand if they deemed me 'too good'. Best, Ben Ya i juat realized I was looking at 2 different designers. My bad. No harm no foul. You'll win tjis competition easily so no worries. I don't think Ben will win by as much as you think. From what I have seen from pics (haven't played any courses yet) there are lots of good courses out there

I just hope I get enough plays to be handicap rated but mainly just to get as far as I can in contest and get some feedback so I can improve for future courses

Yeah guys.... looking at course plays can be subjective... if this was the case Lake Sophia( over 7000 plays at the time)and Necedeah would have smoked the other cc contest courses... and yet in the end a course with 280 odd plays won. Remember.... most of these courses are played by individual but getting your course picked up in a society or 2 could escalate the plays into the 100s if not 1000s very quickly.
Now these previous comments in this thread might have all started to get some mind games going, as is normal in most contests and fair. However, currently Im not looking at competing against all the courses in this comp. I'm only looking as far as who I will be "pooled" against and what the judges think.
Looking forward to the best courses rising to the top.

Shots fired Let's get this contest properly started

BOOM Dian has gone in early with the mind games No I just called it what it was .......when it started 2 pages ago with Ben being called out. Fact is.... apart from Ben's course that had an early release and was played in societies.... the bulk of the TGC community have not even noticed these rookie courses yet....... this should change when the official play throughs happen and when TGC tours' WGO get up and running in November. (I hope) I have never been a fan of grandstanding, either when winning or taking a loss...... I just hope the champion in this contest has enough appreciation and humility of his actions when taking the crown.... kinda like Pithy did in the cc and RJM last year.

Just trying to get a bit of banter going Dian, maybe between us we can get a bit of Rookie contest momentum going.

Agreed - I think everyone in this comp is pretty humble due to the nature of it being a rookie contest. Can’t imagine it’ll get out of hand that quickly...

Just trying to get a bit of banter going Dian, maybe between us we can get a bit of Rookie contest momentum going. Yeah it would be cool if it gathers momentum.... but I think some see the word Rookie and move on allthough these courses are better than some of the drivel being released on a daily basis..... point being... when I removed the word Rookie from my Thread name ... plays started coming in......... now for some momentum..... Please step in Mattf and Reeb for mometum and some opinion😎😁😁 PS: my previous post might have come across as too serious... shake it off b@tches🤣🤣

Schwarzwasser-Golfplatz is now open for business.
Would have liked to have done more planting but didn't want to make it worse by overdoing it so left it unfinished.
I also lost motivation to do it after getting back from vacation.

Good time to bump this as a reminder of the format and what’s being looked at.
This still sticks out to me.
What are the main points of focus? Neatness counts! A high premium will be placed on making the course look neat, or if it is intentionally rugged or unkempt, executing that look will go a long way.
