You obviously want the last word so I will be the bigger man & allow you to have it. Getting childish now.... I've said my piece - I won't reply so feel free to wrap up the episode below.

My course was definitely screwed over as well wtf guys. Sure I never made more than a single hole and didn't publish, I'm entitled to a top 5 spot in this very serious contest so I can place it on my resume for my illustrious TGC career.

I couldn't care less about the last word, but I'm also not going to just sit here and let you disparage this contest with your whinging at this point. I'm fed up with it.

That Ronald gif is horrifying. Can't let the thread end there. Congrats to Jeremy on the win and to the rest of you guys for putting out fun and creative courses! On every one of these courses I saw things I've never seen done before in the designer which is what made all of this so unique I had lots of fun designing my pile of garbage (literally) and I hope everyone else got the same enjoyment out of the process ragardless of how you finished. Cheers!

Is this what I should expect when I publish my rookie contest course. Should I just get in early and ask Patrick why I haven’t won yet? My favourite quote from a movie .... “get busy living or get busy dying” .... perspective people.

Unfortunately yes. In every design contest there’s at least one person that gets their panties in a bunch about it and throws a pity party or complains about the judges. It’s amazing that we even have enough volunteers willing to put up with this crap.

And I apologize if anyone thinks I’m being an a$$ at this point, but it’s been building (we’ve got whiners in DAM society too). There are SO many volunteer hours put in to these types of things, only to have people act a fool. Everything I touch has whiners, so it’s getting VERY old.
In my opinion, it’s totally disrespectful. This person threw a fit during the stream while we’re trying to put on a good show, then when I reached out afterward as a show of support and empathy for his feelings it was met with resistance and a poor attitude, then he starts it in this thread today when we all could be celebrating a great event, and then goes to the “judges got it wrong” attack. I have no patience for it, show some class!

With that in mind, I'm just going to leave this here as a reminder of how contests should be viewed and an incredible example of how to deal with this sort of stuff. Bear in mind that most of us had Necedah as the absolute number one and one of the best courses built in game: Thanks guys for the commiserations regarding Necedah. Not where I expected to finish, to be sure, and I've been a little grumpy this afternoon, but those are the breaks when you enter these things. I had a few very good breaks go my way in WCoD, didn't get them here. That's the nature of design contests. It's like this guys. We can all work from the same rubric (DRINK!) but at the end, we all have personal preferences that skew how we view courses in comparison to one another. Some love Augus (whoops, I can't say that name), others would rather play Pebble, or Pine Valley or St. Andrews. At the end of the day it all boils down to personal taste. Am I rather disappointed this afternoon? Oh yeah. Do I believe I had a course capable of winning? You betcha. That being said, having sat in that judges chair, I have full appreciation for what they do. It's not an easy task -- and it gets tougher each passing contest as the depth of talent in the field becomes greater. Ultimately, they liked what they liked and didn't like what they didn't and made their decisions accordingly. I may not agree with the end result, but I sure as hell respect the time and effort they put in to reach it and can accept the final outcome. So with that, congrats to (names removed so as not to tag) on making the top 5. May the best course win. In the meantime, time to start thinking about what I'm going to do to defend that WCoD crown!

TGCTours 2019: Where we can even argue over mini-golf design contests Indeed, 'even' over such piddly, useless, unnecessary, and childish things such as mini golf.
