I can pretty much do it, im only a couple strokes worse with them per round. I'm envious - since I switched to Masters 3-4 weeks ago my handicap has gotten worse by 10 points (+25 to +15). My swing is nowhere near straight enough to compete with Masters clubs. I'm in a situation where I have to decide whether to switch back to Pro to clear my demotion marks, or accept demotion to CC-B (and likely never see CC-A again, although the new changes might give me a chance if I improve). I find them exhausting too, not because of the effort required to maintain performance, but because of the constant hacking around and the associated anger! I don't enjoy Masters anywhere near as much as I do Pro, but I'm also the sort of person who insists on playing on the highest difficulty - not a good combination when I suck at it... I absolutely love this post. I agree with you 100% on insisting to play at the hardest difficulty. In TGC2 I forced myself to move up to tour clubs. It only took 2-4 sessions to get acquainted. I became a tour club professional. When I got 2019 I took that same mentality. But it didn't work. The clubs were tweaked and renamed to 'Master'. And for good reason. I found myself cursing and squeezing the controller during rounds. Even hitting myself on the thigh at times. These Master clubs are brutal. I can't do it. As of now anyway. The promotion mark switch to 'encourage' the use of master clubs may result in a 20% - 25% increase. I'm not sure what the goal was but I don't see it being more than that. But if thats whats needed to even the tours then hats off to them. You'll have to force me to use those clubs. And I'll be ok with that. But I promise you now.... I won't be encouraged. Not with the current promotion set up anyway. Nonetheless, with all that said. I love what I've found here in TGCT. Fantastic job to you guys for making this work. I can't say enough good things about how hard you work to make this possible. From the structuring of the club all the way down to the help and support response time, your team is absolutely Grade A quality. Thank you for this opportunity.

LOL. I just really don't get all these posts that are against this, say they are encouraging master clubs.
There is a difference in encouraging you to use masters, forcing you to use masters, and simply making things fair to all and still letting us all play in the same society together.
The latter is all they seem to be doing.
No one is forcing anyone to use master clubs.
If you use pros, you used to be top twenty to get a promo mark, now you have to be top ten. but you don't have to worry about the master club users sprinkled in that top ten, like you did the twenty. It'll work out, you'll get used to it. Just have fun and play your game. Its not like you are going to shoot a different score just because you can't get a promo at 10th or 20th, you are still going to shoot that same -10 or whatever and the guy above you is still gonna be -11.
The biggest gripes going into this were that people that choose to play higher difficulty, because they WANT to, were having to deal with people playing lower difficulty, but everyone still wanted to play together. This solves that!
Everyone should be able to play at whatever difficulty they wish. My only problem is with people that say they want to play at a medium difficulty, but they want their scores to compare to people playing at a high difficulty. How do you even justify that?
Its just like a while back in Dirt Rally- I drive with no aids, as realistic as possible, first person. This dude was constantly dogging me, saying how his times were better than mine. The he posted a video, and I saw him in third person. I was like, oh, thats why you are doing better, you are in third person, which is easier. He said there was no difference. I was like, well, drive first person then a couple times and we will see whose times are better. His reply was, oh, no, I can't drive first person, I can't see the road as well and its harder for me to see where whats ahead. ....but there was no difference. He still thought he was comparing apples to apples and beating me legitimately.
So play whatever club you want, and enjoy it. All this does is allow those that want to play highest settings, have the ability to compete with each other, instead of competing with those that do not wish that mode.

I'm not against anything they've done. And I never said I'm being forced. Clearly said they'll have to force me because I won't be encouraged. And yes they also clearly said they want to encourage the use of master clubs and thats why this was implemented. But again, I'm not against. Just saying you can't encourage me. Only 20-25% will be. Thats 1/5 and at best 1/4. And thats my opinion. Lol whats with this guy putting words in my mouth? Haha. Its cool tho. Thanks for the reply.

LOL if you are refering to me, with that statement, just so you know I wasn't replying specifically to you. In fact, I'm not even sure I saw your post above when I started typing.
I was just replying in general to a ton of other posts in the past 7 pages, no specific one person.
its all cool! If I want to directly comment on anyone's words specifically, I quote or tag them so they will know. like this.

I play with Pro Clubs, cause there is no way I would be able to earn promotion marks in CC-B without them, but it seems to me that everyone should just have to use Masters clubs. If we drop from shooting -10 to -4 then so be it. The beauty of golf, at least to me, is that success is relative. Right now I get great joy in a round better than -10 but playing masters I'd get the same joy shooting a worse score. If I end up in CC-D (or worse) who cares! I still get to compete against people of a similar ability each week and have a chance to improve and move up the leaderboards. Anyone playing pro-clubs right now who would complain about using Masters clubs has zero chance of competing at the top levels anyway so why worry about shooting worse scores.

Because I, and many others (see the recent master clubs players exodus to the Beginners Club Tour) would simply quit. I don't find the game much fun when using Master clubs - I'd just go play other games. And good riddance to me, sure - but that wouldn't do much to grow the fanbase or the site.

So it doesn't matter if players aren't enjoying playing with Master clubs as long as it's a level playing field? I play with Pro clubs and have been trying out Master clubs but the inconsistencies with the swings sucks the fun out of it for me. Right now I've been struggling to hit the same level I was hitting earlier in the season with Pro clubs, so it's not as if everyone who play Pro clubs do so because it's easy. I'm pretty sure the admins here don't want to force players to play with clubs that they're not happy with.

Played this weeks tournament with master clubs for the full four rounds. While I’m fairly pleased with my scores and they could have been better if I hadn’t missed so many hole able putts, I had 5 very fast downswing tempos but only two I would own up to causing and three very slow tempos on the whole I hit the ball pretty well. I shot 64/70/69/70 for -15 under if I was only competing against other Xbox players using the same clubs I would be quite happy but I’m not as I’m competing across platform in TGC against Xbox using Pro Clubs PS4 players using Master and Pro Clubs that have an easier job hitting the right tempo and PC players who can use a variety of controllers and Or master and pro clubs. #nolevelplayingfield.

People like to have fun as well and Master clubs can be a headache, especially with how tempermental the servers are at times that already impact your tempo.

For me, playing Masters is much more like real life golf, except of course I could never hit it 320. Lol. But the weird hits that defy all logic, the putts that somehow defy gravity, and the general inconsistency of approach shots is exactly like my weekly IRL outing with the boys. When you find a TGC society with fellows that play the same clubset and are roughly the same skill level and can strike up some online matches this game is tremendous fun.
