Apparently Burns' century @ Edgbaston was statistically one of the worst/luckiest test centuries in history.
There's a stat called "false shot" - ie the number of times a batsman plays & misses or edges it without consequence.
On average a batsman gets out for every 12 false shots he hits. Burns had 60 in his 1st innings knock so he "should" have been out 5 times before he was actually dismissed.
