I feel like I was pretty close in my prediction... not great...but really it’s not bad, just rushed mostly.

I basically see three alternatives at this point to end the series: 3. Pretty much some form of point 2 except that Jon doesn't want the throne, never did. he burns the iron throne publicly. Throws down the crown and storms off back to the north telling the people of King's Landing and Westeros to elect their own King here. The North it its own realm. The Dothraki head back to their home on confiscated Golden Company ships, the Dothraki might stay behind and ride around Westeros doing what Dothraki do, kill, rape and pillage. Series end with Arya seeing exactly what is west of Westeros? I think this was the closest and best prediction I got. Jon didn't burn the throne, Dragos did as a final gesture to break the throne and the wheel as was Dannys final wish, leaving Jon alive. I'm still a bit surprised/disappointed that Danny didn't kill Tyrion. I mean since when does she allow prisoners at all? Tully's dead. Slavers dead. Varys dead all quickly but they take Tyrion away and lock him up? When else did prisoners get to talk to others under her rule? The other troubling thing was when the unsullied didn't just kill Jon. That isn't also their way but perhaps with no Queen, Greyworm who is a tactician and not a leader wasn't really sure what to do? The men/women he killed were on a Queen's authority so I can accept he waited until someone offered him something for Jon as it was his only bargaining chip.
So in the end Bran is the King, decided by the Lords and Ladies of the Realm...except Sansa who tells Bran basically: Seriously when did this little plot twist happen that Bran suddenly can't have kids. Is it a Three-Eyed rule ravens can't reproduce? You'd think that kinda knowledge would have been useful to the 80 or so million people watching it prior to them deciding who was going to be King, ya think? Still my prediction that the decision for a new King would be left to the people and despite Sam's feeble attempt at creating Democracy on the spot, it is decided the Lords and the Ladies (and one Queen) would choose the leader from here on out. The sad thing is Bran apparently saw all this and was fine letting millions die so he could become King. So I say he is off to a good start. Oh and one more thing, Bran is the new King and can't father children except there is one hiccup... Sansa tells Bran basically: Sansa: "I love you, Bran but only a Stark can rule the North." Bran: "But I am a Stark..." Sansa: "You told me you were no longer Bran Stark. You said you were the Three-Eyed Raven." Bran: "....fine...but I never liked the North. Apparently somewhere along the way my balls froze off unbeknownst to me...so @!$# your North."
In the end the Stark children all go their separate ways. Jon is allowed to live but must go back to Castle Black (something else I semi-predicted), Sansa gets to be the Queen, Ayra will be Queen of the Seas as she sails West, probably only to find her way back to Bravos and Bran the Broken and King of the Six Kingdoms. Tyrion is the Hand of the King again. Ser Brienne is the Commander of the Kingsguard. Lord Bronn got his Highgate Keep and is Master of the Coin, Ser Davos is Master of the Ships and Master Samwell (I don't think he is Gransmaster yet) is the Old-Towns representative to the Small Counsel. Podrick has become a Knight too by the way.
In the end Snow heads up North and becomes Lord Commander again, apparently death doesn't allow you to escape your vow and is seen leading a bunch of Freefolk North of the Wall. Some say that he is abandoning his post but I don't think that is Jon. I think he is leading them North of the Wall so they may find safe refuge and a place to settle down and then he'll return to his duties at Castle Black. Sansa, meh is officially the Queen of the North which is what she has been groomed for her entire life. Bran is getting used to being the King and apparently wants to find Drogan and Arya decides to become an explorer, Queen of the Seas as she searches for 'what is out there' and hopefully she locates all the places where rum can be found. Oh and Jon finds Ghost who accepts him back with a nuzzle to his face, which was the second coolest imagery of the episode, the first being when Queen Danarys come out all in black and seemingly grows wings and is the true Dragon Queen, for a little while.
So Danny is the only one of consequence to die. Jaime and Cersie apparently could have survived if they had been standing about five feet behind where they were killed, still it was a good moment for Tyrion, that and his last where he is talking with the Small Counsel about ships, sewers, coin and brothels. Oh and the fact that the Grand/Arch Maester put into writing the Book: A Song of Ice and Fire which is the story of the world after Robert's Rebellion but failed to mention Tyrion at all. His last line was something about how "he once took a donkey and a honeycomb into a brothel..." but we once again never learn why. The Small Council is still missing a Master of War, Master of Whispers and a Master of Laws, but no mind, King Bran will fill those spots soon but now he is going to look out to find Drogon.
So over all Meh... I think I can see two different outcomes which I think would have been better: or perhaps:
Either would have been a bit more acceptable than this nicely tied off with a bow, inconceivable mess we were left with. Perhaps we'll get a spin off of "Arya's adventures?" Oh well.
"In the end what to we say to HBO on Monday morning?" "Cancel our subscription!"

Apparently the first spin off which has the working title Blood Moon is meant to be about the creation of the Night King. But I'm guessing it'll feature the First Men fighting against the Children of the Forest.

Pretty much the only way to wrap it up in 1 episode. Nothing egregiously bad with the finale, and the scene where the dragon lands behind Dany as she's walking out to the ledge and the wings spread out behind her was really cool.
I don't think there's any way Jon survives the books series though.

My questions are: Where did all the Unsullied come from? How did Tyrion know where Jamie was? Why is a NightWatch needed?
But thank you HBO and George for a great decade of tv .

tyrion told jamie to go that way to escape that's why he went that way. NightWatch is just a big "in case" I guess. I mean...they thought white walkers were a myth so why have them at first? wildmen, giants...that stuff. The Unsullied? No idea.

Regarding Tyrion, my impression was that she would have killed him, she just hadn't got to it yet. From the time that Tyrion was taken and locked up, to the time that Jon killed Dany, seemed to me the same afternoon. I figured she would have got around to him before or by nightfall, she just didn't make it that long.
As for Jon visiting him, she probably didn't know about that. She was up there all fondling the throne, and the guards simply probably thought Jon was allowed since they would know he was allowed to be alone with her, and thought she trusted him.
Tyrion throws down the hand emblem. Dany tells them to lock him up, thinking, I'm gonna execute him. But first she goes up to the throne room to process..
Jon goes to see Tyrion immediately, then goes straight to the throne room. Thats how I saw it. Only thing wrong with that is that apparently enough time had passed for Drogon to get covered up by ash.
Oh and yeah, time to cancel HBO! only good thing about rushing the season in 6 episodes is it saves us a month!

My questions are: Where did all the Unsullied come from? How did Tyrion know where Jamie was? Why is a NightWatch needed? But thank you HBO and George for a great decade of tv . The unsullied were bought by Danny in Marine I believe from the slavers there. She tricked the head master into selling her the unsullied in exchange for a baby Drogan. After she got their ownership wand, she ordered all the unsullied to kill all the masters and told Drogon to burn the head slaver and she took all the unsullied with them after setting them free.
Considering the story of the White Walkers happened 1000 years prior as well, it was the purpose of why the Wall was built. My guess is they will repair it for the next time this might happen.
To think that when Tyrion was walking through the dragon bone area, there were places that had no rubble. If Jamie and Cersei had only stood 5-8 feet towards the entrance they would have survived!

The funny thing is though, like that pic of Kings Landing from season 3-4 compared to now...
When you were watching Jaime and Cersei, and the place was falling in, you clearly saw the whole place coming down, starting in the background, then moving right towards them.
When he walks through, the areas that you SAW fall in, were clear.

Just finished the last episode. One big question to me is what about the Dothraki? They're not just gonna be OK we listen to whoever these nobles decide to make king. They're not going to want to get back on ships either. The blood riders would kill John and Tyrion then fight to the death to determine a new Khal and then the horde would be terrorizing Westeros pretty much until most of the continent are made slaves since most of the Westerosi armies are dead.
And really all the southern lords are going to vote a Stark who they don't even know to be their king when his own house won't join the kingdom? They'd really just be fine with voting in Sansa's brother and then her noping out of the kingdom? Like historically independent Dorne wouldn't also say "we're a separate country too"?
In my opinion if they had just drug out the decision of John a little more and ended the show with him killing Dany and Drogon flying off with her body and everything else a mystery it would have been better than the 'closure' we were given.

If the small council is smart they will have the king order the same rule that the Dralls had for when many gathered. No weapon. Grey Worm was the new Commander of all War gave the order or agreed that he is leaving and is letting the rule be based on Bran's shoulders, If that is the case I'm not seeing a big issue here.
As for Danny, with Drogon outside her Keep, NO ONE not named Grey Worm or Jon anywhere close to her. Of course once the deed was done, Jon could have took the knife back, cleaned up the blood and hope no one saw Drogan was carrying off the Queen, but no...he is an honourable man and probably confessed the moment they came to him. I still don't understand why Tyrion or Jon were kept alive. He demanded justice for both and could have taken it at any time. Would that have started a war? I'm not so sure. The unsullied lost their Queen to two traitors and what do you do with traitors. Three weeks is too long so something had to stop Grey Worm. A raven, Ayra saying if you kill either I will decimate 1/2 your armies by herself? The Unsullied are leaving, the Dothraki in the streets seem to want to stay for a while.

Another copy and paste...saves clicking a link.
In a bittersweet blog post commemorating the “wild ride” from his first meeting with “Game of Thrones” showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff to the ratings record-smashing series finale, George R.R. Martin attempted to answer the question of just how much the HBO show’s ending matches up with the one he has planned for the books that inspired the series.
Martin also insisted that he will eventually finish the long-delayed final installments of those book… just don’t ask him when he’ll finish.
“I’m writing. Winter is coming, I told you, long ago… and so it is. ‘THE WINDS OF WINTER’ is very late, I know, I know, but it will be done,” Martin wrote. “I won’t say when, I’ve tried that before, only to burn you all and jinx myself… but I will finish it, and then will come ‘A DREAM OF SPRING.'” So there you have it. Sort of.
Meanwhile, there’s the question of the show’s ending. The first five seasons of “Game of Thrones” were adaptations of Martin’s novels. But the basis for season 5, “A Dance With Dragons,” was released in 2011 while the show’s first season was still in progress and Martin didn’t finish “The Winds of Winter” before season 6 began production. Which is why, during the final three seasons of the HBO series, the show charted its own course.
Events in seasons 6, 7 and 8 were based on notes Martin gave to the showrunners about where he intended things to end — which, among other things, included who would end up ruling Westeros in the end. Even so, many fans have wondered if the finished novel series will go in a different place and more importantly, serve as the true conclusion to “Game of Thrones.”
According to Martin, expect things to be the same, and different.
“How will it all end? I hear people asking. The same ending as the show? Different? Well… yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes. And no. And yes,” Martin wrote.
In his post, Martin said that the differences between television and literature will certainly come in to play. “I expect these last two books of mine will fill 3000 manuscript pages between them before I’m done… and if more pages and chapters and scenes are needed, I’ll add them.”
But the main thing Martin wants fans to know is that the question of which version will contain the correct ending isn’t really important. “Book or show, which will be the ‘real’ ending? It’s a silly question. How many children did Scarlett O’Hara have?” he said, referencing the heroine of another novel-turned-filmed-landmark, “Gone With the Wind.”
“How about this? I’ll write it. You read it. Then everyone can make up their own mind, and argue about it on the internet.”
Roger that.

During the Battle of King's Landing I thought Cersei and Jamie were going to escape to Essos. This could've led to their child being born there and wanting to claim the throne back again just like the Targaryens in the series. I didn't think that Bran would've ended up as king though, I thought Jon would've been forced into it the same as he was with the Lord Commander and King of the North titles.
It will be interesting to see how the first spin off goes as it's set long before A Song of Fire and Ice. The world would be totally different because there would be no Winterfell or Kings Landing, and a lot of families that we knew as enemies would be allies.
