I had started to do TPC River Highlands in CT, but then Wbright (William Bright) asked if he could take it over since he lives near there and has played the course. I said fine, he will probably do a better job because he is local. I will add that to the "Course Claimer" sheet since I do not know if is familiar with it. Hey there! I was wondering how Greenbrier was coming along? Kurt

I was wondering how Greenbrier was coming along? Kurt It is going fine, the holes are finalized. I am at the tree planting phase now (lots of individual trees to put down in the correct place) and that is so tedious that it is slow going. Once I finish the trees, I will move on to the plants/grasses, keeping an eye on the plant meter, which is just at 50%. After that the structures and golf accessories. I anticipate putting out a beta before Christmas to get some feedback.

This is random and just curious but..
Anyone still working on Alotian? Was it dropped, and if so, why?

This is random and just curious but.. Anyone still working on Alotian? Was it dropped, and if so, why? Adam I had looked at Alotian. Scott Doyley had brought down the Lidar and did the OSM, and he put together a course file. I looked at that and then found there was new better Lidar data available so I built a new course file with that. The problem is that with the new data the file uses up more than 60% of the meter before you plant anything, and there a ton of trees on that course. I have just stopped, and if somebody wants to do something I can send them what I have.

Is the 60% you mentioned with no trees?

Is the 60% you mentioned with no trees? Adam, I apologize, it is in fact about 44% without importing lidar trees. Scott's is about the same. I have all the Lidar and course file for mine, and the course file for Scott's, so if you are interested in doing this course I would be happy to give you everything I have, for whatever reason I have lost interest in doing it.

I would but...I'm a bit too booked for now. I probably won't get around to black creek and wolf run (both are LiDARs) until after the DT contest, and I have a lot to learn before then. Any additional projects would probably be '2021' and I don't think I'd enjoy setting aside stuff for that far in advance.
BTW Old Town, is that the Maxwell one in NC? If so you picked a gem!

Yes it is the one in NC, and I think is is very interesting. As for Alotian, I entered it on the "Claimable" page on Doyley's Lidar Course Claimer Google sheet so you or anyone else can take it up if and when they want. Also, I checked TNM yesterday and the Indiana West 2018 Lidar is still not at the site.

All good, I have a lot of time for Wolf Run at this point. Not to mention that despite being 'QL3' the 2011 data for that course is actually pretty good.
Great to hear you're enjoying old town! That will be a fun one to have in the game for sure, although it might be a lower green speed course? They're VERY pitched from what I remember, perhaps not quite in Crystal Downs territory but considering that (I think it was?) Maxwell oversaw construction there, it shouldn't be surprising if the two are similar.

It is interesting that the Wolf Run data is at least OK, and yet the Victoria National Lidar is not even close to good. It is a shame, I really liked VicNat. Yes the greens are pretty challenging on Old Town, I think I set to WIP to play at between 160 - 170.

Yeah, it's still QL3 data but from a completely different data set. If it were the same set it would probably be just as bad.

Is this list still being used these days and if so is it now just for completed courses ? The ones I had originally claimed aren't on there anymore as far as I can tell unless I'm just being blind or stupid PGA de Catalunya (Stadium) was one of the ones I had claimed and put on the list that I had at the fully OSM traced and imported stage. In the last week or so I discovered that @andersnm had recently started to do that course as well. I don't have any issue with that at all, and obviously he is free to do whatever course he wants, but I'm guessing he may not have chosen that particular course if he knew I had already claimed it beforehand which in turn could have saved him a lot of time and effort. Anyway it 's all good in the end as since I realised he had also started it we have chatted a bit via PM and it's looking like we are going to do both the Catalunya courses - Stadium and Tour - in some form of collaboration together which I'm sure will be great fun for us both . It also should work quite well as we each have other projects in progress at the same time so a collab will free up some time for us to do those as well. Back to the list...….I have some other lidar courses that are also partially done and at a similar stage to that one so I don't really want the same thing to happen again to those. If nothing else I wouldn't want to cause another designer to waste time working on something I have already done or started. To avoid that I'll add the ones I had claimed back on to this list, but before I do I wanted to check if there is a separate list for incomplete courses as well now ? I've had a quick look but didn't see one anywhere.
