just read the field was increased to 24...Thanks my friend, that puts me in the contest. Just reserve the 24th place finish for me...I hope you're kidding my friend, because if you're thinking that way already, you've already lost. This will be tough for ALL of us in this contest, just like the World Cup is proving to be, but to be perfectly honest... I LOVE IT! We are all becoming better at our craft because of the constant challenge in here, and above all, the TGC Tours and community at large is benefiting from bucket loads of great courses all year long from this contest schedule. It's true that the winner gets to host the major, which we all want (I would hope), but if we all put together top notch tournament courses, many of them will get picked up for other events on tour down the road. This is a win-win for everyone! You can do this Tom! I was just being my normal smart ass self Eric, in reality I hope to finish much better than 24th.

Does Kessler get to use a WIP? I mean I could take my CC Contest Course from last summer and work on it, still probably wouldn’t be finished with it by mid-April...

Well, since I'm in, ground has been broken in my project. I have some cool ideas of where I'm going with this, and I think I can come with something really interesting. I'm really excited about this contest. Good luck all, even VctryLnSprts (we need a goat invitational classic in some tour, which every season is hosted by one of his courses)

You are not allowed to stream yourself building your course, correct?

Another point of clarification that maybe I did a poor job of indicating or it got lost in translation is this: These four contests are just the TGC Tours officially endorsed contests now, featuring prizes and trophy cards for the winners, but we do not hold the monopoly on community run design contests. If throughout the year somebody wants to run a contest concurrently, they are more than welcome to do that. I'd be happy to bequeath the fantasy contest or the Survivor contest to somebody if that interested them, or people can run a 9-hole contest, or an 'unofficial' beginner's contest so that novices can get exposure, things like that (and they could have whatever design window that the organizer wanted since they'd be managing it themselves). I would even be willing to help you pull loose ends together from the inside with the community, or put some things on Twitter, etc. So if there are designers out there that aren't in these contests but feel that they'd still like to be in a contest-type environment, feel free to create one and let me know about it so I can help you. Hopefully that's a fair compromise! Something that I've played around with in my head is a 24 hour design marathon competition where you have 24 hours to design probably a 9-hole course, and you're *required* to stream the entire design process. We'd have to hype it up a lot beforehand to make sure there's a lot of viewers, make it sort of a TGC holiday. Think people would be interested in that?

Would definitely be a unique challenge. I'd be intrigued but likely wouldn't take part as my work schedule probably wouldn't allow me to devote a 24-hour block of time.

If I can get a better PC, I might just have to take that 24 hour challenge on sometime!

If I can get a better PC, I might just have to take that 24 hour challenge on sometime! That’s my problem, I couldn’t actually participate, so I’d have to administer or judge it.

Also, are we allowed to post screenshots? Yes, but keep WIP screenshots to this dedicated subfourm. You'll see a few contestants have already started WIP threads.
