Great announcement imo. Anything to force people to actually play to their skill level rather than game the system. True beginners now can compete in a level playing field for them and when they feel ready, can up to Pros and qualify - love that! As Brighttail has said though, there will be limited Master club users getting marks I feel. People who really care about getting promoted will use the Pro clubs even though they are decent using Masters because of this. It's said it will level out over the weeks but will it? Time will tell. I expect those in the web.com who get demoted to jump to Pro clubs to try and get back to web.com so it may change a little but I don't expect much. Time to make it only play from the tips for all courses now! Make it so that using the Master clubs can be beneficial if you can use them. Let skill prevail! Boo-ya!!!

Beginners tour here i come.. i didnt play much of TGC2 and this game to me is worse in that i cannot fathom out how the tempo thing works. I played first 2 rounds on Pro this week and shot 70 & 75 , this only leaves me 24 strokes behind the leader Played R3 using beginners and shot -8, again no where near the top of the leaderboard , but much more enjoyable. I play games for relaxation and fun, i do not play games to become stressed after a hard day at work. I will gladly go onto beginners tour and stay there and if it means i am now classed as inferior to others then so be it , i dont care. Once i stop enjoying , i stop playing.

I always treated you as inferior on account of not being Australian. Nothing you can do about it, at least you’re not French or Canadian 😂

Not necessarily true at least if they use pro clubs - the XB1 problem (on which I agree they are absolutely screwed and I hope it gets resolved) is only with master clubs, but with pro clubs XB1 tempo is actually even easier than PS4, here are the stats Jeff posted: XB1 Pro club perfect tempo: 86.49% PS4 Pro club perfect tempo: 84.99% PC Pro club perfect tempo: 77.17% On top of that, XB1 players are much straighter than both other platforms with pro clubs: XB1 Pro club accuracy: 0.0479 PC Pro club accuracy: 0.0548 PS4 Pro club accuracy: 0.0583 At the top end, yes until HB fixes the problem it's a travesty for XB1 users with master clubs, but they have an advantage with pro clubs so in the CC tours we should see some good results from XB1 players.

Oh thanks for that info Larry hadnt seen them stats, hopefully those tours will be fairer then. Just hope something gets done about the masters at some point 😪

I’ve just counted 40 players used beginner clubs in CC-A this week, begs the question why? they can’t move up anywhere they can only move down but won’t because they will finish above the demotion line because they are using easier clubs. Do they just like seeing their names on a scoreboard even though everyone around them are using harder clubs.

You could say exactly the same for Pro club users in CC-A right now, or at least those with no demotion mark to clear.

So how do promotions from this beginner tour work or can't someone get promoted off it?

This announcement has devastated me! I am in CC-Z and struggle even there. I play with a mouse and beginner clubs are my only chance of vague respectability. I have tried to use Pro Clubs with disastrous results. I have virtually no control over tempo and spend more time in deep rough and water then is acceptable, when using them.
When I was classified as Z, I accepted that and thought 'at least I don't have to worry about relegation'. However I was wrong!
I am sure there are sandbaggers in CC-Z using Beginner Clubs judging by the scores at the top, and this has to be addressed, but it seems as if the genuine Zedders like myself that don't have any choice other than beginner clubs, have been cast aside to suffer derision in the forums. eg the huggies remark.
The choice is a hard one, but I have to accept that after 4 years playing TGC in it's various forms, I am now destined to be classified as a "beginner".
I suppose it will teach me humility, but I feel as if I am headed for the "TGCT Care Home"

So how do promotions from this beginner tour work or can't someone get promoted off it? No promotions out of the Beginners tour. If you're a new player and you elect to start in the Beginners tour, you can leave at any time by registering for and playing the weekly Q-School event. If you move there after already having had a regular tour card, you have to wait a certain number of weeks before playing Q-School.

Interesting changes. I liked. I am a master club user. My goal is to upload to WEB - so I'll use PRO to get there. I think it will be faster that way. My trainings are with the master and my greatest difficulty is time. With pro, will facilitate a little. For those who want to climb faster, goodbye MASTER. If using the MASTER in the CCA would bring some benefit, I would even rethink.

I suppose it will teach me humility, but I feel as if I am headed for the "TGCT Care Home" I have to agree with that. Every time I see a derogatory comment towards the club set being used I cringe. There is enough fragmentation in this community thanks to the differences with the clubs, how each platform performs (or under performs). Now we mock and ridicule people who are struggling and have to use a different set of clubs than what the top players use. /master club user till the here btw/
