I chose to play PRO and glad I did. I am always around the bottom 1/3 on the cc-z but just gives me something to shoot for next tourney and practice. Here are some thoughts as I see them regarding the different tiers. - Maybe after demotions - promotions it will all settle down but I see players with similar scores on higher tours as cc-z on the same course. Are the settings - wind, green speeds different? If not then by the time these players fall to the cc-z tour where they belong the season will be done. I think there needs to be a longer Q-School to better match players to tours. There are ALOT of players on the high challenge circuit that cannot touch what the top cc-z players are doing and have no reason to be in anything higher than cc-z. I admit I stink but it would be more interesting if I could finish within an earshot of finishing in the top 25 of a tournament. Not going to happen when the top of the cc-z tour should be playing in a higher tour.
Idea - Make everyone in the Challenge circuit that qualified with and used beginner clubs have to go back to Q-School and qualify again! I was a beginner but at the time was not even good with those clubs so I am already in the cc-z but had I been seeded in a higher tour would find it more enjoyable to be actually demoted and play with those that are at my level.
I finished the first 2 tournaments in the top 1/4 and was loving it but with beginner clubs. Now that I made my decision to use PRO clubs to stay in the prestigious cc-z - I am struggling but still enjoying it. I was seeded correctly but many were not that used beginner clubs.
I see no reason in going back to Q-School just to be placed in the CC-E or CC-F tour just to finish around the bottom again until I am demoted back to where I am now. That is where a lot of players are now. Q-School placements seems flawed.

Yes, it would be a bit more accurate, but it also sucks about 10-15% of a year to do it when the actual season could be happening.
What was possible before the crap Society model that was introduced in TGC2 and continued on in TGC2019 was much better than this. Staff had to adjust as best as they could once events in-game could not be longer than one week in length.

Just took my first look and BT LB. I'm sorry, but if you can score -10 or lower (current top 14) why are you there? I'm sure you could score a realistic score with pro clubs. As for the folks scoring level par or below (current bottom 11), IMO these are the folks who truly struggle with the swing and could legitimately be in the CC-AM circuit. But what about the middle 40? Where do you draw the line? What score is the true threshold. Not trying to offend anyone here, I like the game for me right now because my scores are closer to real scores you would see in professional golf. -6? Sure. -1? Absolutely. -14? Not on this earth. Unfortunately not everyone is looking for realism in this game... If you ask anyone shooting the lights out on the BT, they will tell you that they simply "enjoy hitting good golf shots". They don't want to deal with the possibility of NOT throwing a dart at every pin. Not everyone is here to be competitive, some are just here to hit good golf shots and see their names on a leaderboard. Or dare I say it, a few could have a duplicate account to get the best of both worlds?? Against the rules, yep but still possible.

Yes, Q-school is flawed. It's too small a sample size. But we are talking about virtual golf for fake money on a free website.
Season 5 introduced a new model of promotions/demotions based on four seasons of feedback that people liked having rivalries, and the constant promotion/demotion inhibited those rivalries.
We are 5 weeks into the new season. As with other tour elements, the admin staff is monitoring the results. They've already proven to be responsive.

I only started in tgc2, what was the pre society way?

I only started in tgc2, what was the pre society way? Events were in tours, and there was no limit on how long they could last. So once a month an event would open. Six different courses... one round a piece of varying difficulty. The only time there was an issue was at the end of a month if someone started, but didn't finish the six rounds when it ended.
Based on your score after six rounds you were placed in a tour.
I say it was an advantage/better because you could get through it fairly quickly (six rounds), had your own pace to play (as long as it was within the current month), and had six different courses with six different types of tests, so the scores would be more indicitave of overall play from easier to pretty hard and in between.

We also did Q-school straight after a game-altering patch/server update which many players had not got used to, especially on XB1 & PC.
We will potentially have similar changes if the next patch fixes some of the problems on those platforms. Those players may start playing much better than their current placement.
It's a difficult issue to solve but I would have a faster regular promotion/demotion system running for the first quarter to get everyone shuffled more quickly.

Six brutal courses completed in one calendar month. Good times for sure. I wonder how many people quit TGC Tours part way through Q-School just because of how demoralizing it was? I know I came close a couple times during those six rounds. Didn't help either that I ended up in CC-E and my second event was Masters Qualifying at Magnolia. I lost track of how many times during those four rounds I was on the verge of deleting my account here, uninstalling TGC from my hard drive and leaving my PS4 on the train tracks just to make sure I never had to play courses like those ever again. Fortunately things got easier after that and it turned out there were some good courses out there for someone on the verge of being dropped to CC-Z.

Another Monday without a BCT leaderboard! Should have been called the Afterthought Tour. It's on the main page under active events. The tour page doesn't always show it right away, even for CC.. EDIT: I see, link, but no actual results on it. Tim fixed it last week I believe..
