Did try turning Vsync off and it helped quite a bit. I’m still struggling overall, but now it’s user error instead of ridiculous tempo jumps.

Can you set a steady framerate in TGC 2019 on PC? I have a decent gaming desktop (albeit, a few years old), but sometimes drop to 30-some FPS during a swing, occasionally getting a very-slow thruswing which I don't think I earned.

The tempo is programmed randomly. I'm convinced it has nothing to do with how fast or slow or rhythmic you move the stick. They took what was good in the beta testing and totally boot f*cked it. When you can't hit a thing on Masters and then drop 59's on Pro's...something is messed up I've been saying exactly this all through TGC2 days, that the parameters that control the tempo are changing daily, or even through a round. I could never understand why I would get through 9 or 10 holes with barely a tempo issue, and then have all sorts of issues when I'm not doing anything different. I still say the best thing that HB can do to make playing the game fair for everyone is to eliminate the tempo swing, and just punish you for your backswing/downswing not being aligned. Even if everyone were using the same equipment where the sensitivity levels were the same, there's still the issue that not everyone holds and uses their controller the same way. It's like saying that every professional golfer has the same swing, when we know for a fact they don't. Edit: This happened today while playing my society round. I was left with a 64 yard pitch to the pin. I don't do this very often, but I hit a perfectly straight pitch, by that I mean, looking at the vertical blue line in the shot window, my swing plane was a white line inside this blue line from bottom to top, yet just because the game hit me with a slow swing my ball flew well right of the pin. I'm sorry, but if I had hit this same shot IRL all that would happen, is a loss of distance. This is what makes the tempo in this game a joke. No matter whether you hit a fast or a slow swing, if you are in control and hit a perfectly straight shot, your ball should land long or short accordingly, and not assume you were out of control and fly left or right. The tempo is the most frustrating part of this game, because it doesn't work.

I've personally gotten better results from swings that register fast/slow and in the cone than Perfect/perfect in the cone. It that's not messed up I don't know what is.

Have you got the relevant controller support enabled inside Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> General Controller Settings?
I'd double check - for me it wasn't on, enabling xbox support improved my tempo consistency considerably on xbox one pad.

Master clubs on PC are a nightmare. I get fast/perfect 80% of the time putting me into all sorts of trouble. Yesterday seemed to be in a groove and was playing very well on pro clubs. I decided to go back to master clubs, had a great 1'st round with good tempo and everything. Decided to keep at it, then from that moment on the tempo was terrible. I gave up on them, in fact wound up turning off the game and go stick a knife in my eye, it was more enjoyable. Fast/Perfect isnt a tempo issue though. In fact your tempo is great if the 2nd one is perfect. Fast on the first one means youre doing the downswing too early and need to let the backswing come back more

I can't even play this anymore. The random downswing speed changes ruined the game.

559 WGR and I can't even break par anymore Hey don't feel so bad at least you aren't WGR 75 and can't break par like me.
Average around one P/P swing per round. Never had a problem with tempo in TGC2 (my issue was always a wonky swing path) now it seems I can't do either

I can get either F/P or P/P about 80% The only time my tempo starts going out of whack is when I have my head set plugged in, then I have to use a slightly slower swing.

huh. How does your headset affect tempo? Are there things other than me that can affect it? I have thought to myself a couple times that I can't hit tempo right on certain nights, and just thought it was a placebo effect, or stress level. Is it possible that Thursday evenings, something else is going on that makes it different?

I have found 3 outside factors that directly affect my tempo: 1: Wired headset plugged into controller 2: Wireless controller has different tempo when plugged in 3: Having any other Bluetooth devices turned on when controller is wireless Really not sure on the hows and whys but i have played enough rounds now to easily pick up on the differences everytime. To the point that I have a different swing timing when I have my headset plugged in and I always turn the bluetooth off on my phone before a round

I used mine wired all the time, and a wireless headset. But I consistently try to use it all the same configuration, when I play TGC.
I swear on Thursday evenings, something is different though. My thought was, either I'm just stressed and imagining it, or people on my street are buying wafflemakers on ebay and clogging up my bandwidth to the server. LOL
