While true... Going through this every year without a playoff that isn't true like we had in seasons 1 and 2 feels incomplete. At least we have one this year, although it is just for the top two tours only and the points reset isn't happening before the playoffs start or before the Tour Championship(s).
Maybe if this becomes a yearly release at this time of year, TGCT can come up with a way to finish playoff events each year while simultaneously getting ready for the new version. Those that wish to move on can practice the new game only while the old game finishes up for a few weeks.
Not sure where you have got your info that there is a points reset before the RL playoffs Bob (cos there isn't) - the only reset is before the tour champs. So if that was introduced the format would be identical to RL already
Guess my memory is playing tricks on me.

If it is to be a yearly release and we are going to routinely switch over the switch over should always happen in October/November once all the big events are done for the year.
Shame about the playoffs this time - I've managed to find myself in a situation where I have very little to play for

Because many players are tired of TGC2 and are looking forward to TGC2019 unlike you. Guess it depends on what you find more valuable. HBs game or the community and competitive environment on TGCT... I support and find both very valuable.

Totally nothing riding on these season ending events for me other than the kudos of being in them really. When '19 drops and I bury my head into learning that game (get ready for some serious matchplay battles B.Smooth13) i really struggle to see myself picking up this game again just to complete these tournaments. Strange feeling and way to end the season with. Still...We all have eyes on Paris 😉

If possible I would create a society simply for match play golf. It would have to be a small society but I would love that.

I really hope Tgc donesnt become an annual thing ala EA but with it been TGC2019 I would think it will.

Hey Doyley I have a question re the playoffs. With the first three weeks of PGA playoffs opened up to all players does that mean that exemptions from Euro will still happen and that making the cut gets a PGA card ? (on current scores I should be within the normal Euro exemption zone this week). If so, great as I would get a shot at PGA to see if I can cut it or not. If not, no drama. Thanks.

Thanks. yes, we're going to keep exemptions open for the 3 weeks - it'll be status quo for most everything except the fedex points will be 2000 instead of 500 for the last 4 events. So lots to earn and possible to make a move into the top 30 for a good percentage of players.

I had a quick look at when some Tiger games were released, seems as though there was August, then July and finally March before it ended.
Guessing March would be the best time for releases as the casuals would be getting hyped up for the majors? Might have more interest then if it's not competing against Madden, FIFA and NBA games that are released August/September/October?

It probably won't be a yearly release as far as I know, and the date is Aug 28th as confirmed by Sony.
