You could start on the bones of the course on TGC2 and port it over when 2019 comes out. That might not be a bad idea Wolf now I have declared my entry. I have already decided that the entire course will be inspired by holes I have played in real life and mainly from courses that don't enjoy the exposure more well known courses have.

Yeah just do your routing, maybe tees and greens and sculpting terrain. Probably best to leave your planting and objects until the new game is out and see what new stuff is in the designer.

OK, I have a noob question. I have penciled out my course on paper. What is my first step to getting this thing going? Can someone point me to a video tutorial? There a many on YouTube and I am sure not all these videos are created equal. :-) Thanks!

scampi00's videos are great. They're older and were produced using TGC1, but the concepts are the same. What I like best about them is that they are all short and granular.

Feeling some time pressures already with this delay in 2019. When will you make a call on the deadline Patrick?

Starting well Before the summer i had decided to do at least 1 more course, and i had pretty much decided it was gonna be the current European tour course(Hills GC), now signing up for this contest i quickly decided that had to wait because there is no way i would be able to do that course in this timeframe. Started the plot for a second course, laid down a rough layout but then thought, "hmm i dont want to start the fairways before 2019, but i can do some sculpting now" half an hour later, "sculpting without fairways was pretty hard and this course is much more complex than anything ive done before, its gonna take a long time, will i really be able to do this?" The solution? Lets start a third course, this one is a pretty flat, no thrills course that take advantage of the new spectator stands. so a tournament themed course "perfect, this might be relatively quick...only time consuming planting will be a crap tonne of trees... damn it speedtrees(wait for 2019)" Can i just submit a driving range instead?

I thought of an idea to help get a head start, I don't know if it will work. If you do all your sculpting first and use the measuring tool to draw a rough outline of the fairways. You could probably put down a few bunkers, tees and greens, meaning all fairways, planting and objects can be left till 2019 is released.

Or you could be me - spend all afternoon sorting out my 7th hole - long uphill par 4, split fairway at different levels with a long snaking bunker in between (so loads of sculpting), nice green with bunkering where the hardest looking pins have all the slopes actually helping and the easy pins are sneaky, sort out all the bunkering........and the bloody game crashes and I lose the f-ing lot. There were a few choice words uttered at HB / TGC and the world in general...... The solution - play a society event at Widows Cliffs instead......I am very clearly a glutton for punishment.....

I had to check who posted this as I've just finished my par 4 7th hole which is kinda uphill with a split in the fairway and a bunker running between them. Tough luck with that, I've started saving my creations more frequently now as I fear the same thing happening.
