Still can't believe you won't let me enter, Patrick. 1st you won't use my courses on tour, then you won't even allow me the opportunity to get better in the designer with the valuable feedback I'm sure to get in a contest format. I think I shall go to the Clubhouse subforum and start a thread to cry about the TGCT clique. *sadness The first rule of the TGCT Clique is YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT THE CLIQUE The second rule is YOU DO NOT INVITE GRIFF INTO THE CLIQUE Besides Griff, you wouldn't handle the embarrassment of being knocked out 1st round by someone who has never designed before (sorry, I may b a little drunk) or a big drunk? I AM 6 foot 3

Hey cool Matt. Glad you entered. Like I mentioned over at HBS, lot of expertise, support and advice to be had here. These contests are a great place to learn and nurture your craft - just look at DD. Good luck.

The changes to the designer should help speed up the process. There are a couple of areas where it will help: - improved splines should help fairways and cart paths - auto-fill splines should help fairways - auto-outline fairway splines with light rough should speed up or even eliminate laying rough - multi-sized objects in multi-plant Sorry that it is abit off topic but has there been any other (unconfirmed) rumors about the designer? Especially regarding mixing or getting rid of theme restrictions, just wondering since what i had originally planned for this contest seems like it might simply not be possible with the current restrictions. On to plan B for now, pretty sure ill end up on plan E or so in the end anyways

The designer is getting a few updates, but not a major overhaul. There was probably more improvement from TGC1 to TGC2 than there will be from TGC2 to TGC2019. I think the designer changes are more along the lines of making things easier to do rather than to allow us to do something we couldn't do before.

If it's for the cc tour is light rough essential?

No, light rough is not mandatory.

I think you should WIP seperatly skinnie as this should just be for entrants and general competition info. Looks good though. Did you flatten the plot? Yeah, a section was flattened for the course. I have recently tried to only flatten between an eighth and a sixth of the plot to help force me to make tight routing decisions.

Count me in...I started designing today in TGC2 as I don't want to wast time. When and if '19 comes out, I'll port over and continue working. #InItToWinIn #NoobStyle

OK... I can't see this mentioned in the original post or the following 6 pages... Can we use a course published in TGC2 that is ported into TGC2019 and amended? I am thinking of using Angus Bay International G. C. which is my only course approved, and making some changes to it. Alternatively I'll design a new course - I already have ideas for one - however I don't know if I will meet the deadline because real life stuff gets in the way. That's what happens at 40 with a family.

OK thanks fella. Put me down for the contest. I shall start work on a new course as soon as I get the game and hopefully have it finished for the publishing deadline.
