I have not problem playing the lay up game, it is when the creator doesnt leave a decent lay up spot. If I choose to lay up or hit the rough and layup, it should be a short iron, not a fricken long iron still. I get putting water between the fairway and hole but make it so when you layup you still have less then 150 yards. Also I agree with the whole Fairway Bunker thing, sometimes I am like it just rolled in, how is it 60% there has to be something HB can do the make those 90-95% shots.

No fun playing your 3rd shot from 220 yards away.

This is what makes golf a great game. Each person can play the shots differently depending on their strength and preference. There is no wrong way to do. There are wrong execution, but no wrong way to play the game.

*Except for when you reach for a wedge on the green. That, as we've all been instructed, is the wrong way to play the game...

I'm trying to let that drop and move on. We lost the discussion. Let it go.

I think going for the green is the best option, the rough is so forgiving in the game with lofted clubs (especially heavy rough around the green)if you miss its not so bad. You can just pull out a wedge loft it up and watch it check up to pretty much the distance you hit it. None of the forward roll you get in real life . How many pro's would fly the ball all the way to the hole from 30 yards from a ball sitting down in the long stuff. People complain the game is too easy its because the short game is way too forgiving. All I say is thank god the putting is challenging it's the only club in the game you don't hit 100 % power its about feel.

I still don't like the pitching when you have fast green with a hill and slop. In my head I know the shot to play. But in this game there really isn't a good way to pull it off. Deliverance, hole 4 come to mind. Pin the the front, usually a 95-105 yard shot hit slightly to the right and down the hill it goes. Now your left with a partial pitch as a flop at that 20 distance spins right off the green and a pitch does the same. IRL that is a PW/sw played back and bumped in to the slop to slow it down so it release to the hole. No shot like that in Tgc ATM. Miss there and your likely looking at a 5 or worse
