When I loft a wood I shank the hell out it. It's so hard for me..so I pretty much don't do it. mitch, now why you go around lofting your woods? stop shanking your woods mitch! Yeah I think I will. Sometimes I shank so bad I miss the water and go into another fairway..Thanks for the tip..

I got used to the new putting system and practiced long ones by creating a course with no holes and a giant green that was completely flat. I then hit over a 100 putts practicing different distances, without the yellow market, by figuring out where the back of the putter met various body parts. I know where 5%, 10, 20, 30, 40 ect are for the backswing. For example if the top right of the screen shows 188 ft, or whatever, then the putt should go that far on a full putt, flat green, and medium speed. Now lets say your putt is 18 ft after calculating for everything. I move the yellow marker to that distance and move the putter back to 10%, which is roughly back side of back foot, and watch it go in. I understand that you can visually extend out the green grid but there can be variations that are hard to see, even after looking at everything from different angles. HB made changes to the putting system so it's harder, which is fine, but I believe until they can extend the grid out to cover the whole green chipping shouldn't disqualify you. Chipping on the green can be abused and it's hard to police. This golf game isn't perfect and you guys setup an awesome tour but certain deficiencies shouldn't have a severe punishment.

True enough. I've hit just about everything, except a building, killed a rabbit or two on your Kodiak course.

Talking about there not being a grid for all of a long putt of say an 80 foot putt. Your ball will be travelling quite fast and be affected much less by break for the first 30 foot of the putt than it will when it starts to slow down when it gets closer to the hole inside the grid

I went for a par 5 on coyote in two only to be left with a 75 foot putt that was missing 40 feet of grid. I was tempted to flop but putted instead and went 20 feet past the hole to take a 5. This is unfair as HB doesn't wanna fix it and it's a dq in this tour now. I will lay up on most par 5s so this doesn't happen. My question would be - how many times have you practiced a 75 foot putt? If I walked up to a green and was told to hit a 75 foot putt in real life, I would probably miss by 20 feet the first few tries too - but I would like to think if I practiced for a few minutes, I'd be able to get a feel for the distance. I have practiced these long putts in the designer and a few times in the Play Round mode - I am comfortable hitting putts from any distance, but again, I've done it repetitively with the intent to get a feel for the longer distances. I know there are others out there that have taken the time to do this as well. I would expect these players to have worked out some sort of method/timing to lag these putts close. It's worked for me, and if it's an issue in your game, I would suggest doing the same. It's easier in the designer because after you putt you can redo the shot to your hearts content which helps lock in the distances faster. Hopefully that helps those of you having trouble with the longer putts from beyond the grid. PS, I've also found that in most of my experiences, the slope at the end of the grid is very similar to the slope beyond the grid - and if it's not, it's usually severe enough to see via the Scout Cam and moving around. 75 feet is 3 putt territory even for pro golfers irl. It also is in this game and very hard to hole one, though I had a 77 foot putt lip out recently and holed a 45 footer off the fringe in my 3rd round this week. If I can get to be a half decent long range putter in this game believe me anyone can. As Doyley says practice, practice, practice. I think they are gonna bring in a practise green in a future update

It was a shame about my third round which came from a lot of anger but a nice 59 at the end made up for it. I had put a lot of very good practice rounds in before the tourney but its a shame i couldn't benefit from that. I would of liked to finish higher but you can't be perfect every week.

Hard to believe 37 under is a 50th place..that's tough.

It was 245 to the hole with 5 mph wind behind so I hit a 5 wood that was 5% taken off. The ball rolls.................................................................................then stops on other side of green. The ball initially hit before the green and the flag was 15 yards on. What should I then do different here? Lay up? That's the problem. With the way this game works and the new rule, it would be better to aim for the bunker next to the green so that you could flop out of the bunker and get a possible chip in eagle or at least a short birdie putt than risk the ball taking a slope, rolling to the bottom and making par a good score
