Hey folks:
Kind of melancholy news here but 24K is going to go on hiatus for some time. By no means does this mean that I'll never organize and oversee a cross platform team tournament again but at this time, it just isn't going to happen.
This game has thrown me, along with everyone for a loop. The "gentleman's game, honor code" non society format that I promoted has become too difficult to overcome without society (which is great as players have an amazing amount of options!). I choose not to devote my personal time and run this amongst three different societies/platforms.
There's a lot more I could say about this but I'm just not enjoying the game. I'm not sure if I will enjoy the game and the last thing I want to be doing is devoting all of the personal time I did to a game that is a chore at the moment.
You all are part of my golf family. Past players and present players. Each one of you have a personality and a way about you and I learned nearly all of you and your "ways". As stated, I'm never saying never to NOT running a team tournament again. As it is, I may very well run an Xbox only team tournament (which I could oversee and handle). If and when this game becomes cross platform play, I feel it would be far easier to manage but at this time, the game (and thus, organizing this tournament) would be a frustration and a chore.
What I can say is that it has been a great pleasure for me to provide a tournament that so many of you have love and have loved in past seasons. I hope to do it again sometime in the future. Please keep in touch and be well.

I haven't kept up on the forum over at HB, so not sure what the issue may be - although, I could probably guess - but I hope you find the love with this game. It would be a shame, if not. |

Sorry to hear you are not enjoying it and that I can understand, as I cant get hold of it either. Hey Scott! HEYGURTHSR It has been a rough go and the game is just a hot mess in so many ways and no issues are being addressed. Xbox has no chance of competing anywhere. It has taken a lot of my enjoyment out of the series but playing local/private matches with friends keeps the fire lit to an extent. There is a SLIGHT possibility I may put together a society based Xbox only team tournament, but not in the near future. I'm waiting to see whether the idiots at HB/2K address the hundreds of glitches in this game and allow us some enjoyment for our $60-$70 paid. But the foundation I've continued for six seasons will always be there. I never say it won't happen again but I really need to see some console equality regarding difficulty. Otherwise, it just becomes a PS4/PC domination. |

If I put anything together, it's not going to be cross platform. It'll be xbox only and society based. But Jeff, obviously a great idea and what I did MANY times for TGC 2019, because of the console handicap Xbox players had and still continue to have. Didn't want to kick your idea to the curb, it's what I've done for most all seasons.  Bottom line is if I do a team tournament for Xbox only, I'd do it because I enjoy it. Right now, HB/2K has screwed the pooch in so many ways, I will need motivation to get this rolling again, even on the Xbox platform. |
