The inaugural 24K Gold Team Tournament has officially started. There will be 40 players divided into 20 teams of 2. The teams will be split into two leagues, the Golden Bear League and the Shark League. Each team will play a total of 9 matches against the other teams in their league. At the end of the regular season the top 4 teams in each league will make the playoffs with the winners of each league eventually meeting in the Championship Final. All matches will be played over 36 holes of stroke play (One course, two different pre-selected tees and pins) with teammates scores being combined. The lowest scoring team will receive 10 points. Both teams will receive 5 points each in the event of a tie.
Also during the inaugural season, there will be an individual tournament which will run alongside the team tournament. The top 10 players each week with the lowest scores (both rounds combined) will receive points. The player with the best combined round score will receive 100 points, 2nd best will get 90 points, and so on down until the 10th player who receives 10 points. All players points will be added up throughout the season and at the end of the regular season the top 16 players with the most points will make the playoffs. Players will compete in the following order: 1/16, 2/15, 3/14, 4/13, 5/12, 6/11, 7/10, 8/9. (Following rounds determined by seeding). Course will be determined in the future. This season long tournament will be known as the Aluminum Cup Series.
Standings/matchups/etc will be updated every MONDAY (EST, update time will vary) so rounds will be able to be played MONDAY to LATE SUNDAY (11 PM EST). Sometimes I may get scoring updated earlier. Long story short, if you see the matchups and venue posted on Monday, you’re free to begin for the week.
Please take a moment to read the subsequent posts I'll be making which will have the score submission template language and screen shot requirements, rules, team assignments and week 1 matchups.

TOURNAMENT RULES/ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS (Will be updated the more I think of them):
Have fun, dammit.
Be loyal to your teammate and this tournament. Respect that there are varying levels of talent in this tournament.
Follow the posting guidelines I’ve set up. It will make my life easier and will make the single thread format flow better.
Please adhere to the TGCT rules of putting, specifically no chipping on the greens (less than 100 feet) and chipping allowed if over 100 feet or a fringe obstruction.
Practice rounds MAY be played (no need to change to Stableford scoring), but only on an assigned tee that I will update you all on each week. This (hopefully) will eliminate multiple round playing with the “best” score submitted. I ask any of you to help me out and if you see a violation of this, send me a DM with screen shot, etc.
Contact your assigned league alternate (Via DM only, feel free to add me to the DM communication too) well in advance of the score submission deadline. (Alternate must play BOTH rounds, can’t be “split”) Alternate may only play rounds ONE TIME for any given team for each week. First come, first served. If the alternate isn’t available for one team, he shouldn’t be available for another team. I will be creating a separate thread, looking for a few more alternates to add to the mix.
Critique of a course within the thread is more than acceptable, I just ask that you explain why. Same goes with compliments. Tell us all why. It’s great feedback. Critique of the designer, outside of the level of constructive, or constant complaints about my CHOICE of courses will not be tolerated and discussion will occur via DM.

FORMAT FOR POSTING SCORES:
Scores for BOTH ROUNDS (including screenshots) should be posted at ONE TIME (reduces the amount of time I need to search for/follow team scores).
Please follow this template: Copy and paste it somewhere, if that helps.
Week X
Team X (vs team X)
First and Last Name
Round 1 (tee + pin #)
Round 2 (tee+ pin #)
Total for both rounds:
Screenshots for both rounds will go below the information posted above. Following in this order will make it very easy for me, as well as the rest of the group to follow score submissions. Also, I'm verifying each post to make sure the correct tees and pins have been played, in the correct order. Feel free to discuss your rounds after all of this information has been posted first and foremost.

Thoughts going into Week 1:
I'd first like to say that I'm very excited to get this tournament going. I hope you all have just as much fun playing some competitive, yet friendly team golf. I'm learning as I go here, and I just want you to all know that I will do the best I can to run this tournament in a professional, adult like, yet fun atmosphere.
I plan to post a weekly comment after matchups have been posted. The courses I pick out are because of input from many of you. There will be different types of courses. Some you'll like, others you won't. What my PLAN is is to play EACH course once and give you all some insider thoughts. The reason I play a course through once is not to try and score well, but to see how the course feels and how you all might enjoy the course as well. If the course doesn't feel good to me (and I'm not biased at all), it won't make the play cut here. I will do this because I enjoy the communication.
Week 1 course is The Links at Lighthouse Sound (RCR). Round #1: Black tees + Pin 3. Round #2: Gold tees + Pin 1. I played this course and enjoyed it immensely, even though I did not score well at all. Pay attention to the name of the course. If you miss off the tee, you'll pay for it. I expect GIR to be of a very high percentage wise because the greens are huge. Please adhere to the TGCT rules of putting not only in these two rounds, but in all rounds. Specifically, no chipping on the greens if less than 100 feet or no obstruction. I believe many of you may start drinking heavily after playing round 1. I hold no responsibility for this, or any controllers thrown through windows or flat screen TV's. Round 2 is of shorter length and thus will probably ring up some improved scores from those on standard or player clubs. I don't believe tour clubs is of major benefit on this course, but we will see.
Your focus on these two rounds should be on point. I highly recommend dialing in mentally on every shot as the winds will be a little crazy. Every birdie/eagle will feel super rewarding on this track. The greens are fair, but not easy. Anyone scoring -10 or lower over both rounds, I commend you. Enjoy it folks. Let's roll.

Week 1 Team 3 (Stogner/O’Keefe) vs. Team 6 (Alonso/Lokosky) Robert Stogner Rd 1 Black pin 3 (-8) Rd 2 Gold pin 1 (-11) Total (-19)
I clearly shot better on the front both rounds. That course starts out on the easy side if you hit your shots, but progressively gets more difficult (For me at least) The greens are like putting on a table top. Be careful on downhill putts. Nice course Jason! A real challenge out of the gates! Good luck partner!!
Note: I played my own ghost so both rounds on this screen shot.
