Imo the game should play a bit harder. The difficulty of hitting the cone in the middle feels perfectly fine. It's not easy with tour clubs - and the penalty when you miss the middle feels perfect.
I would like if the tempo element would be equally hard. Most of the players have the tempo down already i would guess. It's no factor anymore (if there is no lag). The tempo could be more granular - not just perfect or wrong. If all tempo mistakes (not 100% perfect tempo) would be read out by the game and would have consequences for the shot result we would have an even more realistic game.
An example: 95% perfect tempo would mean a little slow. Shot could go a yard right and a yard short. 105% tempo would be a little fast. Shot would go a yard left and a yard long.
That wouldn't be a dramatic change. But it could make a 20 foot birdie put instead of a 15 foot birdie putt.
Scores could go up by maybe 2-3 shots. Especially when we talk about the joy of playing real courses: a little more realistic scores could only enhance the immersion of playing them.

What? Thought you were gone... Welcome back! I have left the tour. Rangering courses with an illegal controller. Totally relaxed now that I don't have to worry about playing the game anymore. Still can't hit the ball perfectly straight even with the illegal controller but at least I'm not spraying it all over the course. I'll leave the tourneys to the guys who can actually play.

No... as long as he's not using that controller in a tour event, why would anybody care? He could even use a dildo if he wanted to...

I'm glad you're enjoying the game more but... Doesn't playing with an illegal controller defeat the purpose of rangering for tour? Not at all. For starters, I still suck. I shot 10 over and 8 over on the last two PGA courses that I ranger tested. So just how bad do I have to be to be "eligible" to ranger courses. In addition to that, what about the rangers who are amazing at the game and hit everything in the cone and putt lights out? Should they NOT be allowed to ranger because they're too good? I can still spot the following things, which have nothing to do with my skill level. 1) Illegal pin positions (too close to the fringe) 2) illegal pin slopes (too much yellow or red) 3) Fairways that can't be reached off the tee with winds blowing in 4) Badly constructed greens (i.e. slopes so steep that no shot can hold and rolls back down to fairway) Most rangering is pretty basic stuff and has nothing to do with skill level. I'll leave the "What tour is this suitable for" to the guys better suited to that as anything to me right now is PGA level. But the final run through, after a course has been decided upon for the selected tour, I can certainly handle as it's pretty mundane stuff. Plus, I've been doing this a long time. I may suck at the game but I can spot course problems fairly well. The nit picky stuff that only actual golfers would spot, l was never good at anyway. I just look for the obvious stuff. In short, Scott and the schedulers are all okay with my using an illegal controller to continue my ranger duties. And that's all that matters.

2) illegal pin slopes (too much yellow or red) About this I'd love for HB to hard program it into the game that you would not be able to drop a pin in these areas. You know...like how they've hard programmed where you can and can't drop your ball out of a water hazard or OB.

You can play with whatever you want too according to the rules that came out a few days ago.

Terry, are you saying guys can play with straight shooters? They probably figure there going to catch the cheaters (good luck with that) at some point during the season, so I believe you can use any controller you want as long as it's compatible with the game and windows. I could be wrong on that Wags, but that's my understanding of it all.

Why should a new game change anything? Hell..the top 100 is littered with robots.
