I posted this in another thread, but I thought I would re-post in it's own thread because it needs to be said.
If you continue to play in these tours and the only goal you have is to win every week, then you are probably in the wrong place. Most of us will never catch the top players in a given tour. But you can do is this. Set goals for yourself.
For example my goals are as follows:
1. Have a year end stroke average of 65.0 or below. 2. Make 75% of all cuts. 3. Have 5 top 25 finishes 4. Qualify for a major or WGC event 5. Retain my PGA card. 6. Make a cut in a major.
Also, find some friendly rivals among your tour. I do this with the guys I built this site with: Job, Jeff, and Doyley. I play with their ghost and try to beat them. It's a blast, especially seeing if I stay within 5 strokes of Doyley in any given round.
Again, if your one and only goal playing here is to have your name perched at the top of the leaderboard, then you will not have fun and you will continue to be frustrated each and and every week.
Shift your perspective. Have fun.. Try to improve and set goals and work hard to attain them.

My current and only goal for this season is to make and play all 4 rounds at the Masters. If I do not achieve this goal, I will be devastated.

If I do not achieve this goal, I will be devastated. one mans devastated is anothers motivated to come back stronger the next year. I want to get to the 3rd leg of the fed ex cup (top 70). Beyond that is gravy. Implied in that is making a lot of cuts, keeping my PGA card and setting some personal bests. I think of it this way - Doyley and the top peeps cant get much better (if at all). 55 is about the limit. I however have room to grow, where am I going to find the consistency to pull 7-10 strokes off my round.

My goals are to make as many cuts as possible and try to Finnish in top 15-20 players on xb1, going to be hard as there are a lot off good players out there but I think I can do it.

I've been doing this as well. I never expected to compete with some of the big boys (and girls) on tour, but I hope to be good enough to make more cuts than I miss, qualify for majors, etc.
If I can do these things then I will have fun. And who knows, maybe I get hot one week and make a serious run at winning something.

My Goals are the following:
• Reach the 3rd leg of FedEx Cup playoffs (need to make cuts) • Set personal scoring records. • Qualify for every major and wgc event. • Improve my consistency to hopefully get near the likes of Jimgem. • Keep my card.

My point in the other thread isn't about winning every tournament. Its about the unfair advantage some players here have regarding playing in wind or not.
Sitting around waiting for 3mph wind while everyone else is playing in 15 mph wind kinda tarnishes each tournament.
Goals are great and all but when competitors are gaining unfair advantages it makes playing in these tournaments a waste of time. In my opinion at least.

HB said we wont be able to do this any time soon. I'm not sure there is a solution to your problem, so my best advice is just play and have fun.

Its not just my problem, i see many posts here concerned about it. I guess if you're interested in making cuts here wait for hours for the wind to die down before playing a round. How fun.

Didn't mean to imply that you are the only one who has an issue with it, only that you were there one that was referencing it in this thread. Again...not something we can fix. So either play, wait, or don't. I'm not sure what other options there are.
And just in case you weren't aware (not trolling here), but using the draw/fade option on your shots can basically negate any wind up to 15-16 mph without really shrinking the shot cone. I find that 1 block left or right, even with the driver, still produces a large enough zone to hit mostly good shots and can negate basically any wind. If you don't want to shrink it that much, draw/fade half and then aim left or right to compensate for the other half. You'd be amazed how straight the ball flies even with heavy winds using this technique.

Playing video games is supposed to be an enjoyable hobby or something we do in our spare time.
There are so many other things in this world and our lives that bring stress, frustration and unhappiness.
Don't let a golf game be 1 of them!!! Enjoy it, have fun, that is what this is all about. Even the guys that finish 1st every week are not getting $1 for it. Worry about the real problems in life and let this be a relaxing, enjoyable thing to do.
Have fun all!
