My goal each week is to make the cut in the web.com tour. I made it the first week, by 3 shots, althought the cut mark of 10 under was much better than I expected. The second week the field of 234 is going to make it really tough, if the cut remains at 75th and ties. This means over two thirds of the field won't make it. That puts a lot of pressure on the first two rounds, and maybe the cut should be a bit more generous, possibly top 100. In the first tournament a player, that I knew had beaten me over four rounds, just missed the cut, and his last two rounds, which were very good didn't count.
I must admit the challenge of this tournament is really nerve jangling at times, but when I have completed a good round it really gives me a buzz! I have already completed Westchester and am already looking forward to week 3.
Bring it on!

I agree with The original post but after seeing the 1st tournament scores, and after looking up how some of the leaders scored in q school I don't like how some of the participants scored in the top 150 and went to the web tour. Kinda takes the fun out of it knowing even with improvement I probably will not come close to the top of a tournament.
just my point of view

Ah the Irony of it all.

That would be qualifiers from the January q-school. Nobody who scored that well in the original q-school went to the web.com tour

Didn't mean to imply that you are the only one who has an issue with it, only that you were there one that was referencing it in this thread. Again...not something we can fix. So either play, wait, or don't. I'm not sure what other options there are. And just in case you weren't aware (not trolling here), but using the draw/fade option on your shots can basically negate any wind up to 15-16 mph without really shrinking the shot cone. I find that 1 block left or right, even with the driver, still produces a large enough zone to hit mostly good shots and can negate basically any wind. If you don't want to shrink it that much, draw/fade half and then aim left or right to compensate for the other half. You'd be amazed how straight the ball flies even with heavy winds using this technique. Yes 100% true. I never wait for wind. Sometimes you get lucky. Just remember that 1 square with Woods on tee-shots is about 13mph, with irons it is around half that I think. Practice. do play a round and just experiment. same with putting. I know I will never be as good as the top players. I miss way more 25-10 footers to be at the top, but you can get better at it and in time more of those will drop with experience. I think the main problem is when you play with ghosts, at least for me, I am always paired up with the leaders and it can get dishearting for people to see them sticking greens, sinking 25 foot putts and holing bunker shots, I know it did for me in Q school. If you are that way, turn them off, or look at the leader board first and pick a name or two where you think you'll finish and add them then that way you feel like you aren't doing too bad LOL. As for me: I am on the champions tour. Lets just say...I was not prepared for the difficulty of the courses in Q school and basically stop trying, mostly experimenting as I had the game for a couple days, trying shots, winds, green speeds and Chipping (still hate it) LOL. My goals: -top 10 every week -maybe win a tourney. -get my Web.com card. Putt/chip better on fast greens -Have fun!

I was using 2 "clicks" into the wind for every mile per hour, which after checking works out to about the same that has been mentioned,When I play with Ghost in Practice rounds I choose one player who shot very well, one who shot around Par and sometime a 3rd who sucks like me. I have learned quite a bit playing with ghost players and watching how they play a course. I've had a couple of "Ah Ha" Moments watching them, and my game is better for it
Edit: The above should read 1 "click" for every 2mph

My goals?
Making as many cuts as possible!
That seems to be hard(er than I thought) anyway.
Missed it on the first event after a horrible opening round. Looking good after R1 this week, shooting a 64.

This thread has been a good read, and the OP's advice goes a long way towards a good lesson in life. Yeah, I'm old!

Wind hasn't changed for 3 days at Westchester, so I gather everyone has played in the same conditions. I don't care either way. Good players are going to shoot well regardless.
